Wera vs Wiha?!? Which compact EDC screwdriver tool kit / bit holder is the best?

For maintaining my knives, and other things, I exclusively use Wiha and Wera bits and bitholders. The Wiha (Böker colab) stubby with Torx is my favorite, especially if I have to deal with free spinning screws. The make it easier to get both bits in the right place, and to produce enough torque.

I like those small Wera bit holding screwdrivers. They help me not over torque things like knives. I wish Wera bits were a bit less expensive.

Wiha Centrofix bit holder is the best on the market. I use bits manufactured by Wera, Vessel, and PB Swiss and ALL these bits fit securely in the Wiha Centrofix without wobble.

I used to stand by Wiha 100% until they started producing overseas like in China and Viet Nam and in fact, KC Tools dropped their partnership with Wiha because of the lower quality Wiha tools because of them outsourcing to overseas plants. A lot of the Wiha tools and bits being sold on Amazon are not manufactured in Germany anymore and you are buying Chinese/Vietnamese tools with just the name of Wiha printed on them.

I just bought the Wera 813 not the 813r, it's just the handle/bit holder without that extra locking bit on it. It's very small at 78mm/3 inches so I can actually fit it in a 5th pocket with the extender and bits of my choice from the Bitcheck 7 like yours, combined with Knipex Cobra XS and a folder or SAK I have a great little toolset, more capable than a multitool. I also bought a 30 piece bitset from Wera, the BC30 metal. I can even click the 2 extenders together in the 813 handle for extra reach.

Does it fit in the Knipex pouch with the 150mm pliers wrench and 125mm cobras ? Looking for a decent compact bit driver/bit kit like that to put in the Knipex pouch

The 813/813R fits perfectly in the elastic side loops of the pouch. The complete bit kit does not fit. Beside the 125 Cobra and the 150 plier wrench, I carry a small 70-01-125 Diagonal Cutter. Great addition!

Nice video, I also have this set, the KK10. In this set the bits are different, the Hex area is shorter, they are slimmer. And recently I bought the wera KK stubby set, 19pcs in a textile pouch,the bits are colour coded. Wera makes great quality tools. 👍

this is a bad review. you didnt even show if the bits fit or rattle, do any kind of test or even bother to take the handle out of the box. there is nothing here that I could learn that I wouldnt from a simple picture.

Don’t understand the whole “EDC” tool polishing trend. Wera drivers are horrible with plenty of slop and wobble in shaft. I’d understand if you’re doing a promotion for wera but if not you should shop around 👍
