If LeBron played his entire career in the west, he would’ve been lucky to make the playoffs. The West was stacked, your team had to have 50 wins to make it to the playoffs. Imagine LeBron’s 2007 Cav’s in the Western Conference.
@christophergooding98202 жыл бұрын
You’re just wrong: there was one time when LeBron’s team had fewer wins than the West’s lowest seeded playoff team from 2007-2018: in 2008. Besides that, he would’ve made the playoffs. Also it was more like a 45 win minimum to make the playoffs in the west, not 50. It’s reasonable to say that LeBron wouldn’t have made as many finals appearances but saying he would be lucky to make the playoffs is just false.

@HenAnt11 ай бұрын
Let me answer your question. 91 to 93 East had lower win rates but the lower end of that conference has a higher number of wins than the west. The West was very top heavy compared to the East around this time. In 96 to 98 the East was heavily competitive while the West was incredibly top heavy still, in 98 3 teams in the west had 60 win teams while 6 teams had less than 30 wins, 4 less than 20. The east only had 1 60 win seed (you know who it is) but only one team is below 20 wins, both conferences had 5 teams that had 50 wins. The 97 Season was also the 2nd most difficult Finals road with Jordan facing 50 win teams from the semi finals to the same Utah Jazz that went who was and also went 60 wins the next year. Suffice to say, Jordan had a significantly tougher East.

Roy freaking Hibbert was hyped up comparisons to Ewing but the bum bounced outta the league not long after. MJ would’ve contort his body got difficult shots around Hibbert. Who got known for raising his hands up and disrupting drives. And don’t act like Detroit had Ben Wallace and Rasheed, Chauncey wasn’t in their primes anymore. Or the banged up Bulls who had the youngest MVP in Rose whom never again reached that level even before they managed to play the first year Heat was formed. Following year Rose injuries piled up again and Heat added Ray Allen

@strangerthanparadise6 жыл бұрын
Tre One yes yes, but you do realize that will take him at least 20 seasons right. So don’t jinx it alright, like the not one not two not three. But six finals losses. Then again look at the comments on this video. No one would argue that LeBron had significantly weaker competition in his route to the Finals. Jordan accomplished much more in less seasons. LeBron ain’t even better defensively even given his stature. It’s the effort, timing, willingness to do so. These kinda traits you won’t find on the stat line but directly lead to wins. Even AI gave Sixers one game against the that three peat Lakers. Not to say AI is LeBron if you’re saying Lakers ain’t GSW either. At least u can blame it on Love. Trolls like you don’t even know how his 40k points mean. It matters when the points are scored like against Bobcats and Bucks in the mid 00’s padding in even late in the 4th quarter. Btw MJ still has the highest playoff and 2nd all time in Finals ppg. So don’t act like totals are everything. people rave so great about his percentages at the same time he was built on such a way he was always gonna be a force inside. Look at his FG% outside of the restricted area and his FT% looks like research ain’t gonna help you if you don’t understand basic impact of his points. And his assists can be discussed for another topic for that matter. It’s “team” but win LeBron losses it’s that he didn’t have enough help. If Dirk could lead comebacks and even the title against former Heat team for Dallas was way over their level of competition. LeBron with his 40k pts “to be” would’ve very least win one game. Especially the 51pt OT game when JR blundered. Didn’t he straight quit in overtime. I find determined Bronsexuals very entertaining. All I hear are Stats stats and stats. I don’t deny his greatness, but just don’t put him above Jordan. His body and longevity puts LeBron at a great advantage to begin with and playing in a very spaced out era where so many outside shots are made. Pace much faster, more possessions therefore more stats. Less elite bigs that defend the rim.
@treone31696 жыл бұрын
Magic lose 4 and got swept twice. What is you point. I will say it again for the slow people in my country. Championships means team only. Basketball is not tennis. This video proves LeBron was so UNDERRATED. Media only see who's beside LeBron. Big names like WADE, BOSH, IRVING AND LOVE. Media keep saying he only won because of WADE and BOSH. The reality is LeBron carried those big names in his shoulders and he can do that in any teams in the east that time. I want to clear it by my OWN EXPLANATION and it will start since he joins MIAMI in 2010-2011 season to end of 2014 season before he came back to the cavs. Switch/trade the best player in any team in the east that time with LeBron. Example number 1: LeBron to the celtics for Pierce. How many championship would the celtics won if these two players switch? They don't win one with Pierce but I think with LeBron they will win atleast two in four years. 2. LeBron to the pacers for Granger. Remember in 2010 Granger is the Indianas best player. Also the pacers did not win one but can you imagine LeBron replacing Granger at small forward position with a core of prime and up coming Hibbert at 5, West at 4, a young George at 2 And Hill at 1!!! OH MY GOODNESS!!! I think they will win championships more than LeBron on the Celtics. In other words they will win 3 out of 4 or four straight. 3. LeBron to the Bulls for Rose. Chicago also did not win one with rose. Listen to this. A prime NOAH at 5, BOOZER at 4, and I will put KORVER over BOGANS at 2 then I will put HINRICH at 1 as a replacement for ROSE. Ofcourse LeBron at the 3 with prime Loul Deng as my sixth man🥵🥵🥵 I think bulls will win atleast 2 the same as the celtics. I think my explanation right here is enough for you guys to stop disrespecting LeBron James. That dude is so special and I am sure that you will appreciate his GREATNESS when he retired in the game of basketball. In my opinion we will never see another player like him. Your opinion doesn’t mean it’s a fact. You were going somewhere with team records but other than that you were saying a lot of hypotheticals. True Lebron wouldn’t go to 8 straight finals but to say the teams he played were weak or overrated is laughable. Don’t hand pick the stats show all of it. Offensive rating defensive rating. Win shares Lebron and teammates provided. Because it will show the supporting cast one has. I put money if you put Lebron on ANY western playoff team before 2017 with Durant and the warriors, they are getting to the finals. You put the worlds best player on any playoff team and they are getting to the finals

Its like if I pulled out the statistics of how many people believe in god in the world and said god is real based on that. No thats a belief. Now if the youtuber included team offensive rating, defensive rating, ast, reb, blocks, steals, off and on the court stats. Then his opinion backed by statistics wouldnt be so far fetched. Its like all the people saying if Kobe played in the east he would have eight rings. Thats a hypothetical because he never played in the east and two it would depend on what team you put him on. You put him on the hawks right now in his prime and they dont make the playoffs in my opinion.

im very guilty of this...i find that a lot of arguments or hate against lebron is balance.......its that his fans are trying to tip the scales so much to make him the goat, that all the hate comes out......i was kind of meh about him until mj comparisons started way too prematurely..........the reason this even gets brought up, his competition in the east is because of his poor record in the finals........MJ finished off the best team in the west 6 out of 6 times, and 2 other times he lost to the best team in the league that if he beat would of won the chip, lost in 6 to a pistons team that swept finals, and lost in 7 to a pistons team that won in 5 in the finals...so no debate about mj's competion for either conference needs to be brought up...........so Lebron fans need to have some perspective the reason this even needs to be brought up is that you make his run to 8 str8 finals so godly because he has a losing record in those finals and you need to be shown that he has been in the inferior conference his whole career........through no fault of his own, but if you and your leader nick wright didnt make this accomplishment seem like the greatest in history this wouldnt even need to be brought up.....but you do and it has........... str8 facts

hmm, you have some good points, i would not compare teams directly however. For instance, Lebron beat the celtics in 2018 to win the eastern conference finals. Honestly, I think that celtics team, would have won a game vs the warriors. NBA matchups are not directly linear, you can't just say, because team A, beat team B, and since team B beat team C, then it's a foregone conclusion that team A would beat team C. It doesn't work that way. Sometimes matchups, and strategies work for one time, and not against the other. What I will say, is that the west is deeper than the East. So, the team that comes out of the West is more likely to be better equipped against a team in the East. For example, in the west, teams have better strategies, and play more offensively. Meanwhile, the East is more about defense, and individual mega stars. Like Carmelo Anthony and the Knicks, Lebron and the Heat, Derrick Rose and the Bulls, Paul pierce and the celtics. Meanwhile the west has good TEAMS. Spurs, Mavs, Warriors (before KD) , Clippers, Thunder, all of those are really solid teams.

The west in Jordan's era wasn't weak like how the east is to the west in today's era. When Jordan retired the Rockets won 2 rings and when Jordan retired again the west went on a strong championship run.
@supratrd9006 жыл бұрын
Suntansuperman26, A lot of these Lebrontards think the West/East is weak because MJ dominated everyone. The West around Jordan time still had at least 3-6 teams that were 50+ wins teams. Not to mention the 98 Finals was a matchup between two aging teams with their best players past their primes. In 98 there were 3 60+ wins teams in the west including a young Lakers team that would eventually form the next dynasty. The West in the mid to late 90's is nothing like the East today. You still have Malone/Stockton who were playing lights out past their age, A Lakers team with a young Shaq/Kobe coming off the bench, A Rockets team that had Drexler and Hakeem, Suns with Barkley and KJ, The Spurs with D. Robinson, A young Duncan, A Sonics team that was a dominant defensive team. Sure MJ would have had a cakewalk in the West against these 50 + wins teams that were good defensively. Lebrontard needs to accept that MJ is the GOAT. He would murder today's era. if an old 38 MJ could have average 20 ppg with the Wizards. Imagine a 27-year-old MJ in today's game. 45-50 PPG easily he could have a triple-double season too.

Jordan's relevant playoff career is actually fairly easy to analyze, in my opinion. Jordan never missed the playoffs with the Bulls, though he did miss them twice at the end of his career while playing for the Wizards - I'm ignoring his time with them. During Jordan's career with the Bulls the champion of the East won the title 9 times (Bulls 6, Pistons 2, Celtics 1), the champion of the West won the title 4 times (Lakers 3, Rockets 1). The 7 times that Jordan's Bulls didn't win\make the Finals, they lost to the eventual champion of the East 6/7 times (only exception was Jordan's rookie season where he lost to the Bucks who lost in the second round). The seven times that Jordan's Bulls lost playoff series they lost in series that were not close four times (five games or less, the first four seasons of his career), moderately close series twice (six games), and one nailbiter (seven games). Those East Champions won three titles and lost the other four in six games, six games, seven games, and four games - the 1995 Magic were the only poor-performing Eastern Conference team to make the finals during Jordan's time of relevance, and Jordan only played a partial season that year. Except for the 1995 Magic every single East champ to lose in the Finals played a longer or equally long series to what happened in the Western Conference Finals, which suggests that the best team in the East was better than the second best team in the West in most cases. Also, Jordan's Bulls had a harder time winning the East than winning the Finals only once - in 1998 - so the best in the West was likely as good or better than the second best in the East every year except for that one (no need to consider years won by the East but not by Jordan). Based on all that I'd say that the East and the West were pretty balanced through most of Jordan's career, at least at the highest levels of competition, though the championship totals are skewed somewhat by Jordan's dominance there. Bottom line: during Jordan's time with the Bulls he faced about the toughest competition you could expect in the NBA at the time every year except for two, and his team either won or kept it competitive every year after the Bulls became relevant. Jordan's teams beat the second best team in the league six times, lost respectable series to the best or second best team twice, and were blown out by the best or second best team in the league three times before the Bulls became relevant. Lebron's playoff career is a bit trickier to analyze. During Lebron's career up to this point the champion of the East won the title seven times, the champion of the west won the title nine times. If I throw out the three seasons where Lebron didn't make the playoffs (as I did for Jordan's time with the Wizards), that changes to eight for the West (Warriors 3, Spurs 2, Lakers 2, Mavs 1) and five for the East (Heat 3, Celtics 1, Cavs 1). The four times that Lebron's team didn't make/win the Finals, they lost to the eventual champion of the East 3/4 times (only exception was Lebron's first time in the playoffs in 2006 when they lost to the Pistons who lost in the Conference Finals). Lebron's team has lost in the playoffs ten times. Out of those times Lebron's team lost in series that were not close four times (five games or less, but spread around his career this time), moderately close series four times (six games), and two nailbiters (seven games). The East Champions during Lebron's playoff career have lost in 5 or less five times (four of those were Lebron's teams, the other was the team that beat Lebron), in 6 games twice (both Lebron's teams), and in seven games once (not Lebron's team, but the team that beat him). The Western Conference Finals were longer than the NBA finals four of those seven times, which suggests that the best two teams in the NBA were in the West at least half of the times that the East didn't win the Finals. Lebron's team also had a harder time winning the East than winning the Finals only once - in 2012 - so the best in the West was likely as good or better than the second best in the East every year except for one (no need to consider years won by the East but not by Lebron). Based on all that I'd say that the best of the West was a fair amount better on average than the best of the East during Lebron's playoff runs, even though Lebron was in the East. Bottom line: Lebron has FACED the best competition just as consistently as Jordan did, but has had much less success at that level. Lebron's teams beat the second best team three times, lost respectable series to the best or second best team six times, and were blown out by the best or second best team in the league four times (spread throughout his career, all in NBA Finals). The TL;DR version of that wall of text: Lebron James and Michael Jordan faced a top team in the NBA at almost exactly the same frequency. Jordan's teams did significantly better in those matchups, however, as demonstrated by him winning significantly more and also getting blown out slightly less. Jordan was also more consistent, never showing a significant gap between his team and the best the NBA had to offer once he got himself there (with the only question mark on that being in 1995 when Jordan played a partial season). Lebron has been all over the place, getting blown off the court by the best in the NBA in 2007, 2014, 2017, and 2018. You can still argue individual stats and differences in eras, but at the team level in the playoffs it seems clear to me that Jordan was better than Lebron.

Rings are just one part of the conversation, Jordan is so far in front of LeBron it's actually comical. 1 MVP, 1 DPOY, 9 scoring championships, 3 finals MVPs, 4 all defensive teams, 3v steals titles, a legit first ballot HOF career separates them my guy

Now go do a video about how good were the teams that Jordan had to face in the Finals. How many other teams in the 90s beat those same teams that Jordan's Bulls had to face in the Finals? How many of those teams actually made it to the Finals more than once? None of them were on the level of the Spurs or Warriors, who have been to multiple Finals and won multiple championships, which Lebron had to face in his Finals appearances.
@redace66496 жыл бұрын
The Duncan/Robinson Spurs were a different team than the Duncan/Parker/Ginobili team that Lebron faced. There was no "Shaq and Kobe" duo in 1997 and 1998. Kobe was on the team but he wasn't even a starter yet. By the late 80s Kareem was past his prime, barely beating the Pistons in 7 games in 1988, then by 1989 he was totally washed up and they got swept by the Pistons. The Pistons mopped up Jordan's Bulls 3 times, then the Bulls finally got past the Pistons in 1991 when they were only a 50 win team by then and after Isaiah's wrist injury. After the Celtics, Lakers, and Pistons were washed up, all the "also ran" teams were left for Jordan's Bulls to mop up 1 after another. Malone and Stockton were getting mopped up all throughout the 80s and 90s by all kinds of teams lol

More points thanks to longevity and having more minutes played. Use common sense child. Give the same time frame to Jordan as Lebron and MJ would still score a sht ton more as he average more points. look at the matchups jordan had to face and compare it to lebron before going to miami, you will see why. Lebron gets through a bunch of 40 win teams and gets to the finals to lose, and he is praised, jordan gets bounced by the 80's celtics and he is hated on. The celtics had 4 hall of famers, jordan had none. Sound familier ? Lebron going to the finals against golden state with 4 hall of famers, and he is praised even losing. People are accurate when they say the West has been tougher than the East for a very long time, probably since 1994, with a handful of seasons here and there when the East was slightly better. Having said that, I don't think anyone else that plays today could've made it to 8 straight NBA Finals other than LeBron.

I mean the only great team he defeated in the finals were the Spurs in 2013, meanwhile Jordan defeated a stacked Portland team in 1992, the great Jazz teams of 97 and 98, and even the 1993 Sun's were an amazing team as well, so end of the debate... Plus the 90s were tougher, more aggressive times, today's NBA can t compare it just can't!
