I think you should listen to what Dwyane Wade said about this trade, I think he's the closest to the truth. Luka is an international superstar and will now become the face of the NBA, so this is a pure business that will revitalize the league, and the Lakers will have a new legend for the next decade. What does this really mean? It means that there was an illegal trade going on behind the scenes with the excuse that it would save the league, that the NBA would become a completely global brand, there is no better player to represent this global NBA face than Luka. So they cheated the Mavericks with the excuse that they were doing it for the good of the sport and the NBA, which would now be a global brand. Remember that they have been looking for places in Europe and other parts of World for some time where NBA basketball would be played, among others, Paris, Dubai, Berlin, Madrid, and maybe some other city that will become part of the NBA, so it's a huge amount of money. Everything else makes no sense, no one will say that the Mavericks will have more chances with AD to win the championship.
