@@theouterplanet false prophecy and missed prophecy are actually different according to what we have in scripture. Was Agabus and crew false prophets for adding wrong interpretation and application? No. False Prophets biblically are typically those who get it right, performing works and wonders, yet are leading people after another god other than Yahweh. The principalities and powers (the demonic) would be empowering false prophets with real demonic power to actually do things that are legit wonders and even getting things right, yet not about Yahweh and His world and people. These “prophets” on here are just giving empty, yet overly complicated, encouragement and trying to pass it off of prophecy. It’s not. I have seen one prophecy come true in my life. When God told my sister she'd be a perfect match for being a live liver donor for her husband. He was on life support at the time. Dying from cirossis of the liver from hepatitis he got as a baby (no fault of his own). She told the docs and they literally laughed in her face. They became Christians when the tests came back showing she was a perfect match. To be a perfect match her blood type had to match up, she had to have a healthy liver and it had to be unusually large for her body to be big enough for him...all were a perfect match. So I know prophecy does happen. But it is so very very rare. My sister doesn't "hear from God" daily. She doesn't run a prophecy youtube channel...she needed to know God was there, the docs needed a reality check...God gave it to them all. It was all for His glory not my sisters. My sister didn't enjoy being laughed at...she even thought it sounded insane to her own ears but she said she just couldn't stop saying it. Like it came out of her mouth without her willing it. That is the only reason I don't despise prophecy after all these fake prophets I've witnessed these last few years...and I wouldn't even call my sister a prophet!

Straight up, the most "prophetic" thing I've seen in recent memory was Jane Marczewski's (Nightbirde) appearance on America's Got Talent as an artist, a believer, and a cancer patient with a 2% chance of survival (she later passed away) standing before the world and saying things like: "You can't wait until life isn't hard anymore before you decide to be happy" and "It’s important that everyone knows I’m so much more than the bad things that happen to me" while Simon Cowell wipes a tear from his eye. In terms of what really lifts my spirit to the Lord and helps me decide how I'm going to face my own trials, Nightbirde's got the Word of the Lord going on. So not "religious" (her blog posts, though few, are also jaw-dropping) but laser-focused on the truth that there is nowhere God is not. If you gave me a choice between talking for an hour to any of these "prophets" and that 30 year-old-sister in the Lord full of the Wisdom From Above, I'd take time with her in a heartbeat. And, oh yeah, she sang real well, too.

@@timothy6828 People are only "not willing" until the Son chooses to reveal the Father to them. Paul is a case in point. He went from killing Christians to being a follower in the space of seconds. Our will is nothing compared to God's. And as far as Jerusalem not receiving Christ, they were never meant to (that the cross might take place), as Peter said on the day of Pentecost: "Him, being delivered by the determined purpose and foreknowledge of God, you have taken by lawless hands, have crucified, and put to death"

@@michaelshevlane9132 So essentially you're saying that in the passage I cited Jesus is simply playacting a very convincing dramaturgical act, do I understand you correctly?
@michaelshevlane9132 Жыл бұрын
@@timothy6828 Jesus did not playact, but did experience the human emotions in common with us all, despite also being aware of the purposes of God. For instance, he wept at the mourning over Lazarus despite knowing He was about to raise Him. He cried out "one of you will betray me" to the twelve in clear sadness, despite it being ordained that it must be so (and knowing it was Judas from the start). He could be surprised (for instance, at the faith of the Roman whose servant he healed), astonished, and wearied, despite being fully God in man and having all wisdom. He fully experienced the sorrow of the rejection of the Jews, despite it being purposed in God that these things must be so from the foundation of the world. None of this is playacting, but fully entering into the human experience as He so wonderfully and mysteriously did. This would lead me to ask you: do you think God intended Jerusalem to receive Him, and had to course correct into a 'Plan B' when they did not? Or do you accept that the Jews were always intended to reject Christ that the cross might happen and the fullness of the Gentiles might come in? On the contrary: 7 What then? Israel has not obtained what it seeks; but the elect have obtained it, and the rest were blinded. 8 Just as it is written: “God has given them a spirit of stupor, Eyes that they should not see And ears that they should not hear, To this very day.” (Romans 11:7-8)
@timothy6828 Жыл бұрын
@michaelshevlane9132 I see what you're saying and it would be an absolutely valid point if Jesus here did not say: How often would I have gathered you together but you were not willing! Referring to the prophets he, as God, sent to them in times past. He's not only talking about his human experience right now, is he? He says God would have, if they would have been willing. They weren't, so God didn't. It's very straightforward and it shows you how God needs us to go along with his will in order to accomplish his purposes. Not always obviously, but especially when it comes to salvation.

A lot of prophecy today is almost just to see if someone can actually get something right and think wow they got it right but it didn’t actually help someone in any way. "It sales" was one of the most valid points made. If we want to derive our living from prophecy we will most certainly have to prophecy falsely. Too many believers desire a platform while true prophets are most likely wishing they were not called to be a prophet. There is no doubt that the letters to the 7 churches was preserved for us for this day and the current state of those churches mentioned(ruins with little to no church presence in the regions) is given to us as an example. The church is in judgment and if we dont give heed to the warnings there is going to be severe consequences and a small remnant remaining. While it is not popular and being rejected by the vast majority of the church, the following is where i believe we are because it is hard for me to imagine anything coming along to fulfill the words the way the last few years have: rider on white was given a crown(insert latin word for crown), a bow (translated from greek word toxon meaning bow with use of poison tipped arrow and oddly enough the root from which the word is derived means simplest piece of fabric), and it conquered for the sake of conquering. 2nd: lack of peace between men. 3rd: Inflation/beginning of famine. I believe this is the point in scripture/time we are in. "Here is need for endurance" and we need to make sure we have enough oil to keep our lamps lit through the night because its about to get even stranger. Maranatha!

Yep, the only one prophecy I have personally witnessed was given on an individual level and it brought many many people to Christ while letting that one person know that God was still with them. That person doesn't "hear from God" daily other than through the written word and doesn't even consider herself a prophet. All these other new prophecies encourage people to have faith in a decaying world or nation ot to have faith in politics or a man....or to have faith in material possessions. They do not point us to Christ which is the job of the Holy Spirit....to comfort and testify that Christ is our savior. I could be wrong in my understanding of the role of the Holy Spirit but that is what I have come to understand to this point. I believe I can confidently say that I have not seen even one of these prophets show that they are true prophets of God. I haven't even seen one that is humble even. The true prophecy I witnessed humbled the person. They feared being wrong. They were reluctant to say it but compelled to say it. Given that I have not heard another prophetic word out of this person's mouth shows me even more that the word wasn't for personal gain!

how is prophecy different from fortune telling?
@theeternalsbeliever1779 Жыл бұрын
One difference is that prophecy involves God revealing knowledge of future events to a person as opposed to someone consulting evil spirits to know the future.

I have listened prophecy in review for the last couple years. Every year, all are failures. It would be good for a show actually showing people giving prophecy right. Not just you guys telling it but showing the video. I will admit I am a cautious cessationalist of the revelatory miraculous gifts.

I also was a borderline cessasionalist but God, ONE TIME, gave my sister a prophetic word and I wouldn't even call her a prophet. I have commented this more than once in this comment section but here goes lol her husband was on life support for cirrhosis of the liver from hepatitis he got as a baby (no fault of his own). My sister told the docs that she wanted to he tested to be a live liver donor for him because God told her she would be a match. The docs literally laughed in her face and told her the odds of her being a random match is one in a million. Well there are two new Christians now because she was a perfect match. Her liver was healthy, her blood type was compatible and her liver was oddly large for her body size. If her liver was normal for her body, it would have been too small to qualify as a match. He lived for 5 more years....granted he was in and out of the hospital the whole time but he witnessed to people on their death beds more than once in that time, leading people to Christ. Nurses who didn't even believe would wake him and ask him to speak to someone who was dying... God used that prophetic word to bring faith to many many people....to also remind my sister that He is with her. She doesn't hear from God daily and doesn't proclaim to be a prophet. That one story tells me God does speak to his people still but it's not done the way these false prophets do it. True prophecy will always direct our faith in Christ not some worldly thing...politics, nations, people, money....etc.

Agree with "we shouldn't feel like we have to crank out prophetic videos" this is true for all the prophets out there trying to "make it" on KZbin. Sid Roth's word doesn't even take the form of a prophecy.. was it even a prophecy? The answer is No. Jesus doesn't have a cookie cutter response to his disciples.. not like this anyway. The second prophecy is also NOT a word from the Lord, it's just not prophecy. It's NAR style "peseudo prophecy" with it's use of words like "season of this" etc. Jesus doesn't talk like that usually, it immediately places a question mark against what is said. Jesus didn't go around in the Bible saying "we are entering a season of this, we are entering a season of that" it's just not the voice of Jesus in terms of the way Jesus spoke. It's comparable with the "thus sayeth the Lord" king James problem of prophecy where it has to be in King James English. What ever spirit it is coming out of, probably just the person's own convictions and imagination, it doesn't seem like the Holy Spirit. It is consistent with the "prosperity gospel" teachings, so I'd posit that its origins lie somewhere in that. It didn't have any marker of being beyond what she came up with. I'd put it in a bucket of the pseudo-prophetic cold reading style of NAR prophecy. In contrast here are some examples of true Christian prophecy outside the Bible: While the Bible reveals that God is love, I think it is quite personal when Jesus says in a prophecy through me, "My heart is love, are you ready to walk in that place". Or when he says through Melito of Sardis "So come all families of people tainted with sin, and receive forgiveness of sins for I am your freedom. I am the Passover of Salvation, I am the lamb slaughtered for you..." in his letter on Pascha. Or, when he again says through me " "Why will you perish in your sins?" The Lord says "I have made a way through my Son so that you may not perish. Come to him. Accept my Son says the Father. Yoke yourself to him and follow him for by so doing you will save your life". People could say, but there isn't any prediction in those? Prophecy isn't always about prediction. If you want predictions that can happen, for example I believe the Lord showed me who would win the Australian election in 2022 and I put it up on The Christian Prophecy Collective on Facebook before it happened and it happened - you can go there and see that. That doesn't make a person a true prophet, but it means I might have heard from the Lord about that. Prophecy is Jesus speaking through a believer so other believers may be built up. But how can we tell it isn't made up? that is where you need to apply discernment criteria, some of which are "does it sound like the Jesus of the Bible in terms of expressing HIS heart and his concerns" Is it presented as HIM speaking? is it HIS testimony or claim to be his testimony? Does it tie back to the things he said in the Bible - does it reference scripture? Are there any cues in connection with it that might point to it being from other than the individual who is speaking it? Does it illuminate or bring understanding of the Bible and scripture? Does it portray the Jesus of the Bible? What does this have to recommend it as being from the Jesus of the Bible? Does it point to Jesus and his concerns? What is at the center of the prophecy? What is the difference between a human trying to encourage other humans and the Lord encouraging people? There are more criteria than these but they are some to start with.

I am asking myself, if this kind of prophesy is biblical or the intention of god with that Gift. I understand prophesy as a gift from the Holy Spirit to encourage Brothers and Sisters and the Body of Christ, personally ! What means if someone has a specific word for someone, that is so Personal, that normally only the Person who receives the word can know. When I receive a real prophetic word, where I also sense the anointing and the Power of god in it, it’s always so detailled and accurate, only God can know. All these general words about the world are often words I can also know by reading the book of revelation or to just use my common sense. So it’s always important to proof the word but it’s important to say, that not everybody can proof. Only the ones who are able to hear gods voice clearly and can sense anointing are in a position to differentiate which words are from the Soul/flesh/Human and which are from the Holy Spirit.
@johnlamb2525 Жыл бұрын
A lot of people that give prophetic words just say something that randomly came to them. They think it is the Holy Spirit speaking to them because of a feeling they get or something. But most of these are not thinking through what they are saying like you guys are doing to vet it and make sure it isn't nonsensical or factually wrong.

Seems like the issue you keep having is asking if what the prophet is saying is in the Bible or not. So rather than trying to find a prophet to line up to the Bible, why not just read the Bible and find a good preacher that rightly divides the word?

This whole “new year prophecy” is suspect to me. I can’t imagine the apostles gathering together and giving prophecies for say the year 53 AD. It would be nice however to see a review of national or global level or prophecies for the last year, not necessarily ones given at new year, but at any point during the year. In my experience I’ve never seen anyone give a clear accurate prophecy about global events, but many times specific words to individuals.

One of you made a comment at the 20:35 minute mark that Jennifer LeClaire’s”prophecy” was “awfully safe” which I thought was telling. What does being safe have anything to do with it? They are supposedly hearing from God, so they should be prophesying what he is telling them.

He just said. Which vindicates what I said. Around 45.:00 thar God. Was going to give a supernatural ability. For the remnant. To go out here and minister to people on the streets. Why do I have a big problem with him saying things like this? Talking about a whole nation. Or remnant. Because if you're listening to this. And you think this word is for you because you are the remnant. When it don't come to pass. It would destroy your faith. they put it this way. When God says. all creation. Mounds. Groans. Travels. For Jesus Christ second coming. And Paul said, even we ourselves. Travel. For the second coming. Do you believe this? You're a fool if you do. The church system. You know the system that trying to lie to you and manipulate you and take your money. The church system. What are they teaching the people? This is why the church system in revelations is called Babylon, the harlot, the Great Horror. Because she's sitting on a mountain. Never mind. Babylon. Go back and read this what I just wrote. If you think they're waiting, how come the church system keeps telling you hold the rapture? Could be any minute. How we can't wait for the rapture. I can't wait for Jesus to come back. correction, is not waiting for the second coming. Not waiting for Jesus to come back. The Jews aren't even waiting for. I shouldn't say that. Never mind. How many times have you heard? Why? I don't know about Jesus, but boy, I'm just on pins and needles waiting for them manifested sons of God. They don't even know about this verse. They read it, but they don't comprehend it. That's not talking about Jesus Christ second coming. It's talking about the manifestation of the sons of God. And that's not a rapture. They're not going anywhere. They're going to deliver the creation. How long is it going to take him? 1000 years? Huh.

"Pan" in pandemic and pandemonium isn't the root word. It's a prefix. The root words in this case are the words which follow the prefix. Total fail on that one. I wish these people would be more careful with the way they use words. To misuse language that bad in a so called prophecy really hurts prophetic ministry. On top of that, verse numbers are not inspired. They were added by people. Many so called prophets love to talk about verse numbers as if they are themselves cannon. The content of scripture is inspired, but not the peripherals which have been added to the text by Bible scholars to help us with our studies.

The Third Point. About prophecy. You can't take. Holy writ. The scriptures. And read it verbatim. I'd say this is prophecy. God is a sovereign God. He could do what he wants. And sometimes. When we put God in the box. He'll show us just out. Side the box he can get. So yes, sometimes he could use. The written word. But if he does? Listen to me. If he does, use the written word. That's not a prophecy. Why? Probably has to be. A Rain Man. Not a written word. Rama. Not. Scriptures. The Scriptures are the logos. When we have a deposit of the logos in us. God will use that. To give us a Rama word for the people.

I can't even watch past the first 15 minutes, calling Sid Roth a good guy and his show a good thing when just about everything that's on there is heretical and blasphemous? You're being way too kind and as a body of Christ, we need to do a better job of rebuking these people in a way that wakes up the deceived. Especially when Jesus warns us that there will be people who claim to prophesy in His name that He will cast away.

OK, one more thing. The number 20 means Redemption How do I know that The Bible explains the Bible oh my gonna show Gen 37:28 Then there passed by Midianites merchantmen; and they drew and lifted up Joseph out of the pit, and sold Joseph to the Ishmeelites for twenty pieces of silver: and they brought Joseph into Egyp in the Tabernacle. Get out of concordance. And look up silver. Silver means redemption. And it has to do with 20. OK. t.1 . It does have a meaning. If the number 7. Has a meaning. Doesn't makes logical sense that we can conclude. That every number. Has a meaning. Every name. Has a nature. God even put a book in the Bible called numbers. That was a joke. Numbers are important. God killed him off to put a multitude of people because David counted the people, numbered them. Because David can't number people. God only gives them a number. The number 6. Is the number of a man. How do we know that? But it says being calculate the number of a man 666. Set it right th OK, I'm done. ere in black and white. God created man. Under six day. talk, everyone. Easy. #40. If you read around the number 40. What is your conclusion? Right now just think #40. Where in the Bible does talk about #40? And probably 80% of the books in the Bible. The Bible was written by. Over 40 people. Angus 42. It was rent. It was rough. Written. It was red. Written. 4000 years. Alright, if you walk out from the time of Moses. Until Jesus. Ask 2000. But yet in every book in the word of God. It has every time you see the word 40 the number 40. What are they talking about? Watch the issue. It rained for 40 days and 40 nights. They were in the wilderness for 40 years. Jesus fasted for 40 days and 40 nights. The number 40 means. Test. Trials. Tribulations, fastings. Sufferings. Judgment. To put it all together. I call it. Wilderness. It was always something. Some kind of tribulation for 40 days, years, weeks, months, whatever. It always has suffering. What is talk about 40? Over 40. People wrote the Bible. 4th 1000 years. How could they? No. What one author? From another book. Said about 40. And so he says, let's see, I gotta, I gotta make a something about 40 something. I'm suffering. Yeah, I got 49 strides minus one.

When it comes to “self-proclaimed” Prophets, many within the church are reasonably skeptical given an unforgiving track record of speaking on behalf of God. My question is, what accountability should be administered to a person who falsely speaks in His name? And not just once, but many times over? Do we just give a pass because they seem to do right in their ministries or preach a coherent Gospel? Scripture seems to adhere to severe consequences to “anyone” who say they are a prophet and make God to either be a Liar, a person who changes His mind, an author of confusion, and instills a spirit of fear. In all things, we should not be apathetic to accountability when a person speaks falsely in the name of God because they seem to be a nice person. This is how wolves get by.
