I think that Zevon’s “Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner” would also be appropriate for Halloween. And it happens to also be a friggin’ awesome tune.

YES! MORE ZEVON! Warren wrote his song with Waddy Watchel in under a half hour. It was meant to be a kind of fun throw away. It turned out to be his biggest song, and regrettably the only song many know by him.

I guess somebody has to be the guy who says it - Lee Ho Fook apparently didn't serve Beef Chow Mein. I walked past it many times but never ate in it but so the story goes, beef chow mein didn't feature in the menu. Aside from that, this is an absolute banger and showcases wonderfully just what a clever song writer Warren Zevon was. Anyhow - after this I would suggest "Poor Pitiful Me" and/or "Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner" Thanks again Lee - this was really good. " His hair was perfect"

Another great track for Halloween for Warren Zevon would be "Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner" Kid Rock lifted the piano and basic track from Werewolves of London for the song of his that was a hit fairly recently....he combine it with parts of "Sweet Home Alabama" I don't remember the title of the Kid Rock release, though

"Werewolves of London" might sound familiar because it was partly incorporated (along with "Sweet Home Alabama") into Kid Rock's 2008 hit "All Summer Long". I once heard CCR referred to as "The American Beatles" because they had a huge number of hits (and seven albums in four years) in a short time before it all fell apart. In CCR's case, the band was seriously screwed around by Fantasy Records, and John Fogerty was involved in lawsuits for decades (Tom Fogerty had died in 1990) -- including suing Stu Cook and Doug Clifford (unsuccessfully) when they tried to use the name again. At their Hall of Fame induction in 1993, John Fogerty refused to perform with Cook and Clifford.

You might of heard the piano in a Kid Rock song that he sampled. And if you seen the movie American Werewolf In London, Bad Moon was played in that. Happy Halloween everyone.
