We sat in a bar with him for an hour or so. We bought him beers and he bought us beers. Slide guitar is easier to do once than people realize once you get the basics down. The real talent is composing the great riff, that is where the true talent is. Zakk is amazingly talented in composing these riffs. Kudos to Zakk!!

Still one of the best albums I bought in 91 and still on my favourite all time list. That line up of Ozzy, Zakk, Bob, Mike and Randy RIP, was one of the best he had.

I could watch him play all day. I wish I had an ounce of the talent he has.

Zakk’s solo in this song and Slash’s solo in the Sweet Child o’ mine are easily my top 2 faves. Not necessarily for difficulty, but for depth and appreciation. They always cause me to cease whatever I’m doing and concentrate my attention on those parts of the songs. 🙌

Both great but I can't have Painkiller's solo out of my top 2. I also put Cult of Personality up there with these 4.

One of the greatest guitar solos of all time without even having to think about it

The last widdly widdly part on the solo is just insane. Zakk looks like he's strumming.

god he’s so good. it’s crazy man. this might be an unpopular opinion but i think zakk is the best guitar player that i’ve heard in my life… that man absolutely shreds the damn guitar like it’s nothinnnn.

His precision, speed and signature sound is imo unlike anyone I’ve ever heard. I’d like to hear him try some polyphia songs though

He is truly an amazing guitarist, in my top ten. Because he is a total original, he was able to validate his statement when he said Dimebag was the best all around guitarist on the planet. Zakk is absolutely a god with the axe. But no one can replicate Dime. His sound was so unique that when he past away that sound was lost forever. And no one will ever be able to replicate it. I’ve heard Zakk do his best play the solo on “Walk”, and it’s just not even close to Dimebag’s sound. You ask any of the worlds best musicians past, present, and future. And it’s pretty much unanimous.

Damn Zakk really plays incredibly hard!!! Like not just “figuratively” but like heavy man!!! Shit just bending that shit harder and heavier and his picking too, like damn not like he ain’t my top 3 faves of ALL TIME, but every time I listen to this guy I’m just more blown away by all that he does, and IS!!!! Big love bruh, from hillbilly heaven!!!

The way Zak never "Replaced" Randy Roads but instead held his place or filled in for him has been one of the most honorable thing in rock history. I'm a big fan because of his true respect.
@wombat6 Жыл бұрын
from 5:00 to 5:10 you clearly hear some Randy Rhoads in his solo, so... he clearly did try to keep some Randy Rhoads in the sound somehow. Just like he didn't modify the "classic" solos live either.

I just really love how he still plays it so smoothly and not choppy, like someone would probably do after playing this song thousands of times through the years.

I used to play this in a cover band - not this amazingly of course - and it was absolutely glorious to play. Godly guitar solo. Feels like you're about to explode out of your skin as it builds. So good.

Zakk is extremely good within keeping a tract of any kind fullest possible. No gaps during live performance, not easy to be so concentric towards full spectrum. He has so many tricks, licks, that his reaction time is extraordinary towards when to include.
