Actually tracks really aren't really all that much maintenance, just making sure they're aligned and that theres oil in the mid rollers. The only way they get expensive is if you lack in checking them to make sure they're good.

the old logger tire! will your soil work better trying to float then power through? tilled soil in our area big singles still sank then had a wall of mud in front. duals were able to cut through.
@WernerAg5 жыл бұрын
We don't really have an issue of having wet ground. We we're more looking at them for less compaction as we have notilled our ground since the late 80s.
@jonstevensmaplegrovefarms37545 жыл бұрын
@@WernerAg nice LOL I try very hard to not be preachy about soil health and no till on other people's channels. LOL but I wanted to say that since we moved to no-till even in our wet soils it's tremendously less of an issue.
@WernerAg5 жыл бұрын
We love notill. It saves us a lot of time and money and even makes us a lot of money.
@NextLevelFarmerDotCom5 жыл бұрын
With the wide tires you run on top of the corn root ball which will reduce compaction. The end result is less compaction and higher yields. A high return on your money investment. Smart thinking. The little things or options on equipment can have a high return on investment in yield, convenience and profitability.

That's exactly what we were thking when we debated whether to go with radial duals.

What is the difference between the way the floaters work versus LSW's? As far as compaction.
@WernerAg5 жыл бұрын
As far as compaction there is no difference. As far as ride quality I've heard numerous guys tell me you will experience less tire lop in lsws vs floaters due to the lower side wall. We're not a big fan of Goodyear tires and we're a pretty big fan of Firestones.
@brettackland42105 жыл бұрын
I hauled a 9870 with the rear axle housing all cracked up from having the rear tires out that far. I'd think it would be better to bring them in a bit
@WernerAg5 жыл бұрын
We might slide it in if and when we change the rear tires.
@barhorst15775 жыл бұрын
You’re actually supposed to change your front axle spacers from a 400mm spacer to a 300 mm spacer when you move from dual to floaters it doesn’t make much difference but the machine would be a little narrower
@WernerAg5 жыл бұрын
Yeah they asked us down at Mowrey if we were gonna do thatand we told them we were just gonna leave it and they thought it would be a good idea to leave the 400 on.
