Big reality check here. Dangerous for a solo hiker. Best to go in a small group. And perhaps watch several other videos about this hike before going. I like that you don’t sugar coat the trip. It’s really important to know before you go. I watched 6 videos about this hike. You yourself tell of a lone hiker who fell 40 feet, broke a bone or two and had to be rescued by others. Imagine if there were no others to do the rescuing… I recommend you join a hiking club in your area. Hike with others who know the route. You will be much safer with less disappointments and more joy. Thanks for posting your video. You are doing every one who is considering this hike a public service. Sincerely, Pete

On which side of the creek do you park to start hiking?
@SusanCatherine10 ай бұрын
Excellent question. I followed All-Trails suggestion and parked at Trail 17 Trail Head, Camp Verde, AZ 86322 (that's the address to use in Google Maps). That trailhead is just north of the creek. As I recall, the drive in was a bit bumpy so a high-profile vehicle would be best suited to this trailhead.

Thank you I been wanting to do this hike for a while but I wasn't sure how to get there, I been in the west clear creek before and yes is a tough hike from any point.

If you do the hike I'd love to hear about your experience. I read so many comments on All Trails from people warning others that this truly is a hard hike. It's so hard to fathom since the elevation gain isn't different. That terrain really made it tough.@@justme-bb4qt

Rookie mistakes! You should go back with the crew that I knows the trail. Don't turn your back on this! :) I believe it's beautifully wild and peaceful. Did you even make it to hanging garden? Thanks for sharing the wild side of this trail, it gives me more reason to go!

I've never been to Hanging Garden. I think I would try it again if it weren't for the boulders along the creek--which is akin to sitting in awful rush hour traffic and crawling along. Or, if I camped at the creek. Hope you get there and I'd love to hear a recap of your experience once you do! Enjoy the hike.
