Excellent video, only had time to watch from the Lune Gorge to Carlisle as that is my favourite piece of track. Used to farm in the Penrith area in the 80's and after a difficult week used to go to Carlisle station on a Friday afternoon to watch the trains and people to unwind!! Thank you for the memories.

The run between Oxenholme and Penrith goes through some spectacular scenery....i went through there just a couple of weeks ago on my way up to Edinburgh and again coming back down last week....certainly one of the highlights of the whole trip.

Great vid, can I ask a question regarding neutral sections, I recently watched a vid of a class 87 over the same route but at Carstairs carring on to Glasgow and on approach to neutral sections had to return the power controller to zero and then reapply once section ended does the same apply to the class 350?
@beneliastrains
@beneliastrains 4 жыл бұрын
We are supposed to shut off power through neutral sections but no harm is done if we forget - there is eqiupment on the track which ensures no power is being drawn through the section. The main reason for shutting off now is to prevent the jolt of the power being suddenly removed.

Signals at start from guard and driver aknowledge to move off...others are AWS which driver has to answer or train stops.....1 every mile. pause on 1:37 humped elongated device in tracks says hello and driver nust say hello back lol...its modern version of dead mans switch I think double beeps are signals green and no need to cancel iirc signal sends signal to cab and needs reply signal...as driver passes said signal.

the ping is when you're approaching a signal at green (you get a sort of boop if it's yellow or red), and the beep-beep-beep-beep is the vigilance alarm that that the driver has to acknowledge periodically
