I know what that meant. I live in FLorida and work in law enforcement. I met and worked with the first African American police officers hired in the 1960s. They were pioneers. They were only assigned to black neighborhoods. Their arrest powers were limited to arresting black people. If they saw a white person commit a crime they could only detain and had to call a white officer to make the arrest. When they got hired, many white racist cops quit the job cause they didn’t want to work with them. The city opened up the black police precinct to keep them away from white officers. So yeah the water was deep and it’s still above their heads.

2:15 is the most important line in this scene. Good cops know who the bad cops are. They cover for the bad cops or turn a blind eye to what's going on, which in turn, makes good cops bad cops as well. Culture is the most powerful element in any social system and the culture inside policing is the biggest problem. You can not legislate culture away and no code of conduct can properly influence it. It is protected by the highest ranking officer down to officers on patrol. Until this is truly understood there is no fixing policing.

@@KingYuma_ Well, the story can extend beyond our protagonists' place of work; he could always go home, begin a lawsuit and eventually commence a killing spree like Christopher Dorner. He could face unemployment and willingly quit himself, only to become a vigilante, he could face unemployment, work the problem out, and then leave when the contradictions of his work become clear after the dust has settled. I think that this creates a story more dynamic and yet more grounded, or a situation more improbable, despite being more sound. Any show that can pull this off has my respect. But for me, I take less pleasure in watching feel-good copaganda than I could take from any other genre of improbable fiction. Especially since it's so surreal. Everyone in that office could hardly stand him and knew what type of person he was yet like West said here they just allowed it to go on. If it wasn’t for Jackson being there Stanton prolly would’ve killed a whole family for a false accusation, remember he pulled an actual gun on them for trying to defend their innocent son who is terrified cause he was just minding his business and got tackled and getting cuffed without any explanation of why. Then Stanton angry and either too stubborn or crazy to admit he was in the wrong got mad when they try to make things right with the family talking about “these people don’t respect the law” like bro fr believed that badge give him a free pass to hurt or arrest whoever. See and thing is there’s actually officers like this irl and that scares me that at any moment me or my little brother or any of my family would get profiled like that and a cop like Stanton would get a slap on the wrist for it while our family is traumatized and appalled that something like that happened to us.

@@awesomechannel9342 Chen already had a different TO back in season 1. the main difference between them all is that Bradford was the only one out of the 3 original TOs who refused to transfer & he'd returned when he didn't have too. plus, all 3 of the rookies default to him when ever they get in trouble/need help. nolen issues w/ harper; west issues w/ sutton & chen issues w/ wrigley. i get the feeling that he's getting set up to replace grey as the Sarge at wilshire & that grey is either going to be killed off or retire. but i'm leaning torward him dying due to the storyline w/ sutton.

@@hannahyoung6762 I hope your are wrong, because a new Sergeant wound't take a Watch Commanders position, typically Watch Commander is a Lieutenant position. I Grey think coud get promoted to Lt. especially after Cpt. Anderson was already killed. Maybe Bradford will get a Sgt. Postion at mid wilshire or he get transferred out of the Division maybe even to the Police Academy.

@@paulkleinert959 nah. by the simple fact that they set up Bradford's promotion & then delay it? plus the way Grey stated that Bradford was the top selection for promotion/position. i could see them giving him the TO SGT position due to his history as a TO. plus Grey said he was going to retire after the last set of rookies which is when Bradford said he was going to accept the promotion to SGT.

@@hannahyoung6762 Bradford as TO SGT could be funny. Gery won't retire. Hear my words

I think people don’t understand how frustrating it is to see that racism is something we don’t punish. We literally punish homelessness like literally someone not having or being in a home is now being criminalized. But something like racism that is 100 percent harmful, isn’t. Just some bs as PoC it’s all bs

The gospel by which we're SAVED. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 (KJV)(1) Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the GOSPEL (good news) which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; (2) By which also ye are SAVED, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain (self). (3) For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that CHRIST DIED for our SINS according to the scriptures; (4) And that he was BURIED, and that he ROSE AGAIN the THIRD DAY according to the scriptures. READ, UNDERSTAND, BELIEVE (from the heart by FAITH) and be SAVED
