For those that are upset that I shot an old mature female with a young one, get over it. Aoudad females take on offspring from other females all the time. I do hope this answers the question.

I live in Alpine Texas and it is very close to where this was shot. These animals are a menace to all of the other native species. They were brought here as game animals and have run wild giving other native animals diseases and pushing out others. For instance the Prong Horn got a liver parasite from them. The Big Horn sheep were completely displaced by these invasion of animals. The National park has trouble keeping them out and keeping them from destroying the environment in Big Bend national park. When the rangers trap them, all are killed. Hogs are also out of control here and all over the highways at night.

That's how the deer lease I used to hunt was like. My dad worked for the bossman who owned it but they were good friends so we came out alot. Killed a bunch of hogs, Whitetail, mule deer, nice aoudad's too. Almost 6,000 acres of big draws and canyons in the west of Texas

Been watching your videos for a long time. I remember when you had a TV show and yes I watched it too. Would love to hunt a Aoudad but being disabled and not being able to walk a long way it is had for me to do that. But maybe one day. Good hunting Keith.

Garris Adamson these sheep are much like feral hogs and not even natural to the state or country. They were imported as trophy hunts but exploded in population and in Texas they don't even have a season. Nobody bats an eye when it's a momma pig but for some reason get riled up about these sheep.

@TangyAftertaste6 жыл бұрын
I am a fan of your channel but killing a sheep with a yearling is in bad taste.
@hailtothe_rooster15726 жыл бұрын
These sheep aren't even natural to texas and don't have a season. Much like feral hogs Outfitters that have them of course manage them and take your $$$ to hunt them. Nobody knows how bad they are because they stick to the high mountains. Again they are feral, and the ranch obviously needs to thin them out to preserve a healthy population of other species.
@edwardenglish15196 жыл бұрын
That is a good question for Keith to answer. I don't know much about Aoudad, but there were a group of them together and that one appeared to be the grandmother. Was the yearling hers? If it was, do these animals naturally adopt when the mother dies? I don't know the answer to these questions, but I never shoot deer with a faun. I'd pop a hog though.
@keithwarrenhunting1146 жыл бұрын
Aoudad sheep will take on a kid from another mother. That's why.

After watching MeatEater and and Remi Warren Solo-hunter for a while, you realize that Keith is not only a but hunter, but also SUCH a sloppy cook. Who in gods name would grind up an entire animal into burger and chili, especially a small ewe like that, especially when it went straight on ice. I'm from NZ and we have Tahr (Aoudad are closely related to Tahr, same family within bovidae), and my god do they taste good all year round, no matter the age or gender. There is no way in hell that I'm grinding the backstraps, tenderloins, legs steaks and ribs off those animals. Plus, find it kind of funny that he had to state "on this hunt, we are taking every bit of meat off this animal". On ALL hunts, management or trophy and everything in-between, you should be taking everything off those animals. In the Hunting world, waste is the last thing the non-hunting public needs to know us for, and Keith repeatedly wastes, especially when it comes to introduced species and exotics. Not a fan. Watch Steve, Jani, Cal, and Remi if you want some real hunters.
@sask350z4 жыл бұрын
Not a real hunter anyone can go to a hunting farm and get one easy to go in the wild and do it let see how good you are
