Love this video. RIP Doug Smith. You were a phenomenal musician. I was fortunate enough to know Doug. I remember he always sat beside our bench during basketball games to watch his son and cheer on us Buffaloes from the small town of Petersburg, Texas.

My dad sent this to me today in an email. Wow!!! It's so beautiful it literally made tears come to my eyes. The pictures were gorgeous, the music was beautiful and the men are those who have not forgotten what it is to be REAL men! This was excellent. Wow. Unbelievable. Wow!

Doug is in fact still playing!!! He just recently put out an album this year and it is available on iTunes along with most of his music. Doug Smith is an AMAZING guy! He has not let his accident stop him or his love for music! Go check out "Smitty Blues" on iTunes and stop by his website to show him some support! Doug is the reason I love music as much as I do! This video reminds me of home and life during much simpler times. I can smell the dust and pollen in some of the scenes. The album "Hope" by Doug Smith (which contains the song "West Texas") is a favorite. The photos capture some of the essence of the great state of Texas! Living in Washington state now, there are few people here who can understand the attraction Texas has to those who were born and raised there. No one here says they are Washitonians which much pride.

This is one of the most amazing/beautiful/unique/powerful pieces of music I have ever heard in my life. Wow. So sad that the man playing the music has been paralyzed and can no longer play music. His name is Doug Smith, and I am amazed by his talent. This video is very nice too. I could watch/listen to this over and over and over. Wow. If you see this Doug...you are in my prayers, and I will always be a fan of your music.

Some of the snow scenes remind me of my childhood in Ozona. Roundups with my Dad and family.......I always had to ride drag. Eating dust became my way of life growing up. Couldn't ask for a better way to grow up in Texas!

I love seeing Doug's fan base grow! Knowing the stories that I do behind his music, why he wrote certain songs and actually being around while he worked on new stuff is something I will carry with me always.
