There was an underperforming member in that formation, and it really looked like it ruined the routine. We're only as good as our worst man. Overall though, that was amazing. Still hits different 13 years later

Wow... I don't care how cold it was you should always have a plan B. I stood in that formation in 2005 as platoon guide and I don't know if I could have kept bearing while watching a fail like this. I would have been crying from embarrassment or laughing on the ground while doing pushups with the guidon.

As an armed drill team commander for 2 years, and a member for 4, not only on a decent team, but one built around eachother, I know the ins and outs of everything for an exhibition. Here's a tip. Train EVERYONE to do the exhibition, and then pick the best. If there is a minimum requirement, and you don't have enough men to make it look neat, then have your best 2 do a TANDEM sequence, something easy and sharp, not extreme, and a ripple-line in the backround. Keep. It. Simple... Stupid.

heck! if my NJROTC instructor saw us failing like this, he would fail us. but if my MCJROTC instructor saw this, he would make us do push-ups, we would have to hold our rifles directly in front of us using a v- grip for 5 minutes, then do pull-ups and sit- ups.

those rifles don't weigh 10 lbs. they weigh 8.5 and it just looks like ur 4 man drill team was just not prepared and had horrible bearing. the only reason that im being so critical is that im on our high schools varsity drill team and we did our whole routine in 30 deg with minimal to no mistakes at state last year.
