Really enjoying this content! The crawling videos are awesome but there's a lot more to our hobby then just driving our trucks. I think it's great that we get to see the hurdles you encounter and how you tackle them - no better way to learn! Keep up the great work! 👍

Dude. Your crawling videos and commentary are my favorite, but this? How am I enjoying this series so much? I didn’t know I’d enjoy it, but gave it a chance. I’m really loving seeing the process and hearing the challenges you’ve worked through and how you did all of it. This is all new to me and I’m really enjoying it. Thanks for taking us along for the ride - this truck is turning out awesome! I’m staying tuned. 👍✌️

Tamiya pink super fine primer before paint as it resembles bondo when it gets scratches 👍

My best moment in rcing,choping plastic stuff,sanding the hell out of it,then paint it my own . My only suggestion would be to start of horizontaly,for a few "scratching" rounds,then you have a perfect line to follow cutting. I would avoid dremel sanding(melting the plastic),as my ocds kick in,i hand sand everything,to be exact on both sides Overall you did a great job!

Nice job Logan!! Pull saws are the way to go and they don’t cut quick like a hacksaw does but they are not supposed to. Like others stated tape a sheet of sandpaper down and much easier to flatten out your cuts. I’d also look into Plastruct plastic weld or some MEK/MEK substitute for glueing the body back together and one last thing get some sheets of styrene and cut strips to back your cuts for strength. Keep cutting and making it your own

It's looking awesome! I'm digging the sage green and with a red and black undercoat as you trail it the patina will form itself over time.

That looks great, Logan! Kinda good timing too... I want to bob the bed of my Base Camp to fix the departure angle... though I have to figure out how to do all that with Lexan. The cutting part I think will be a lot easier, but the reattachment part could be interesting. Oh and I love the Sage Green color.
@ConditionZero76
@ConditionZero76 Жыл бұрын
With lexan its a bit tricky and the harder part is getting a nice clean result in the end. I cut about a half inch of lexan out of the bed of a Proline power wagon body and then simply slid the end piece right over the existing bed ,I added a tad glue and a couple tiny little screws to hold it in place and it came out awesome....I taped the bed just like wheeler did but on lexan you need to use a very sharp razor knife and keep scoring until it breaks off ...👍🏼💯

that's not bad i'd do a little different but you have the basic concept an yes take your time you should never be in a hurry super glue an baking soda mixed together makes a very good bond an can be used as a boy filler it dries rock hard but sands up nicely if you need any tips feel free to reach out i have been building model cars for 40 years an im new to rc a i love the hard bodies

Its funny that you bobbed your bed and I extended the one I did by an inch. Also ampro designed some awesome tail lights for this model year Toyota. They look 100x better than the stock RC4WD lights that come with the kit.

Try a hacksaw blade for plastic, cut it to the length you need and I just wrap some electrical tape around the hacksaw blade for a handle and you can do it pull of push . Gorilla glue gel is amazing for the hard plastics ,abs, styrene. Fills huge gaps👍

Can I suggest using a 12x12 marble tile and a sheet of fine sand paper tapped flat to the tile. To sand both bed pieces level. It should give you a very even and consistent seem when you glue the two parts back together.

I’ve tried that and a few others on a cross rc bed kit for a 6x6 project ,not one of them works to hold their stuff together .it holds until you knock the body on anything while running ,and not hard either .the bodies and beds seem so hard that they don’t melt together like other ABS kits .that stopped me from buying one of their trucks.I seem to have to fix it on every run .shame ,they have got some great detail and scale is spot on .

A hobby saw would have been better and cheaper to purchase. They are not as long and are sturdier, less flex for a straighter cut. I use 10" by 1 1/2 " aluminum flat stock, from eBay to sand long straight cuts like you did. Just lay down the aluminum and sand the piece you just cut to straighten the cut.

I mess up everything the first time or two. Have never been into let’s be real for a second. Crafting. I’m no painter and no real imagination when it comes to making scale looking trucks. I still try though there’s something relaxing about it to me. Maybe the fumes… lol. All about learning and I’m better the next time every time
