Couple things: Parking brake was on the whole time, you can reach 125 no problem, that's why you were late. You can't put scenarios for this route on Steam Workshop, only for routes made by DTG or by routes that are on the Workshop. If you press '8' you can go free cam where you aren't fixed on the train and can look at the scenery, fly around to wherever you want.

Paul, the HST is designed to feed power in slowly to stop the wheelspin as the engines are way too powerful. Also fyi, there is a branch line at Hayes and Harlington for Heathrow, one at Maidenhead for Marlow and one at Twyford for Henley on Thames. Hope this helps!
@tobysummers4718 жыл бұрын
There is also one for windsor and greenford
@jackreevesvlogsandblogs24988 жыл бұрын
I think you will find that if you look at the great western railway network map, the windsor branch is at Slough and the branch for Greenford is at Ealing Broadway.
@tobysummers4718 жыл бұрын
yes iam aware of that. Interestingly only the windsor branch is being electrified as far as i know.
@jackreevesvlogsandblogs24988 жыл бұрын
Probably not even that. First Great Western run an entirely diesel fleet I think. This is better because it doens't cost too much money for the company or network rail. On the other hand, lots of the other railways have now been electrified however they also run diesel locomotives.
@tobysummers4718 жыл бұрын
they dont run an entirely diesel fleet anymore. They have begun rolling out the 387s upto hayes and harlington. Recently the wires have gone up further as at west drayton the wires are up. The hsts are going to scotrail and are going to be 5 car sets and most of the turbos are going to the bristol area and are probably replacing the pacers.

NOTE: Didcot B (the gas power station) is still in operation. It is Didcot A (oil and coal power station) has been decommissioned in 2013 and those cooling towers have been controllably blown up. Whereas the boiler house which was in preparation for demolition had collapsed uncontrollably killing to what has been feared to be 4 people. On the day 23rd of February, there was known to be one dead, and there is still 3 missing inside the 10 story collapsed rubal, (and trust me. I'm local, from Oxford to be exact and go train spotting at Didcot parkway, Which at the beginning of the video you said was where Bristol parkway is, but you were in a rush so your forgiven.

The first 15 minutes of this is basically my daily commute. I can confirm that the scenery and stations are very accurate. You can even see the old-style Hanwell station too. It's the one before Southall. You were wrong about where Heathrow is though, it's after Hayes & Harlington, but not on this route. This route takes you past West Drayton just before you leave the M25, and then onto Slough etc. The rails to the right of you is the commuter route which have the slower trains as well as the Heathrow Connect. The Heathrow Express does share the rails you were using though.

The scale of the map on this dlc really gives me hope for some massive maps in future. Maybe one day we'll get all the connections for the WCML. Can start with Trent Valley at Rugby heading all the way up to Glasgow. Only fresh piece of track they'd have to make would be a connection between Stafford to Warrington (so you could link in the Manchester to Liverpool route) and then from Warrington to Preston and voila

There was a long-running urban myth that there's a bricked-in siding inside Box Tunnel that houses lots of mothballed steam engines, so that in the event of nuclear war they could be used in place of now-inoperable (due to EMP) diesel and electric locos. Sadly rather unlikely for a number of reasons, but it's a lovely fantasy. (See Wikipedia's article "Strategic steam reserve".)

Now that you mention Cities Skylines and Railroad Tycoon, check out the game called Train Fever, you might like it. It doesn't have any AI companies to compete against, but the cities are dynamic and agent-based and there's a lot of micromanagement involved when building the tracks and stations, it's got a lot of historic and modern trains as you progress through the time. It's also very challenging to keep the lines profitable.
