yeah that is kinda what I feel about Western games and most western media is all always about the FEELINGs which in real life is really boring uninspiring people act like that. But even worse in a game setting with some kind of doomsday demon lord that will destroy the planet any day now, yes lets talk about something superficial feelings instead of saving the planet overall it make so little sense to becasue these are characters who have grown up in a much harsher world than we have yet they are more hurt by someone using the wrong title for their job than actual dragon fire breath in their face

If this game really wanted to have them hash it out with words, emmrich wouldve called taash Lady tash and constantly refer to her as a woman. But because hes a man, hes wrong in this scenario automatically.

That is a great and,.,..sad point he is automatically wrong because he's an white man. but yeah I saw that scene and it made me think of Magus in Chrono Trigger and how Dragon age is just so uninteresting like if you play classic DnD you can fight party members. If you play bg3, you can throw out members etc. In DA its the most neutered party conflicts ever.

@@Myrmondendragon age have the most blandest conflict ever in an rpg I seen. The conflict just don’t feel authentic to that game world. It like if someone just teleported someone out of California and they take over the body of the dragon age character.

Where in old school rpg, the characters would sometimes even end up killing each other.

People talking about the specific part you mention because it get click and make people rage but the true issue is just the most bland white bread of a character interaction they have. In most other RPG, your companion would threaten the necromancer or voice out their concern very loudly. I just play rogue trader warhammer and one of the companion in the beginning literally yell out insult at the psyker (space wizard) due to their untrust worthy magic. I play morrowind and the people there are known to be extremely racist and they immediately yell out slur at your character and some wouldn’t even interact with your character if your a specific scaly race. In baldur gate, the companion would try to kill each other due to their different in philosophy. It like you said, it like HR was put into the game.

@@andyhakim1970 W3 had some good quests but most of the writing was garbage, BG3 is typical modern writing tho no where near close to Veilguard atrocity, DE i dont know did not play. Wester game writing never was too good to begin with, but there wasnt decent one in years.

To be fair, the only two viable comparisons are Metamorphis and FF16(which clearly show a great difference). The other two is a deep dive which should only be compared to old Bioware. Which was actually much better than what we have now.

I love Ichiban such a great main character But yeah I also picked this scene because I like how Saiko reacts, she dont just say yes or does some strange rambling (LOOKING AT YOU DA) she panics, runs away, calls later APLOGIES !?!?!?!? like imagine an actual sincere aapology in dragon age, not the ones where the mc acts like HR MOM and forces them to say they are sorry but an actual like oh snap my bad.

Yeah this is how betrayal and issues between party member should be, not that someone accidently used the wrong title or something. The whole do a barf scene is so silly, but not only one the whole I am non binary, but even more on how absurdly insignificant that "drama" is. No actual adult should care about that. its like my boss says my name wrong a few times because me and another colleague almost have the same name, like his name is Myrmond, I dont get up and is like DO 10 BARFS or ELSE !!!!

Let me help you bro. Family scenes, Japanese. Best family scene of all. Nier and Yonah ending in Nier Replicant. The one with Shadowlord Nier and Yonah. "There's a girl in this body, and she loves her brother!" Tat cutscene is so memorable bro! Nier and Yonah are brother and sister family alright. ReFantazio didn't yet play that game. Ah or the "best" family scene of any JRpg. Drakengard Ps2, Caim meets Furieae. There's a weird voice saying, "touch me my brother!" then Furaie kills herself with a knife. Furaie and Caim thats family scenes too.

BG3 may be one of the greatest Western RPG game, but it got ruined with subsequent release of other Western RPG games. Thank you for your service Baldur's Gate 3, you are one good game.

11:12 That is a really good question right here. In a species, that by nature has it like most other species on earth, male and female... what is there neither of those two? The short answer is: nothing. And that is why non-binary people feel empty. The longer answer would be, that there are species that have both genders within one body or can change it at will. But since the human species doesn't have neither "biologically skill" you are born either male, female... or with a deformity. That deformity can even be just the brain itself, which is also a organ. The brain, which is as complicated as can be can only have one tiny part of it be malfunctioning, the outcome is is still the same... that is defined as mental abnormality, a mental illness. But of course you can't tell that to people that they're "damaged" in some sort. The fact that this happens for thousands of years, probably in the millions, and not only to the species "human". So... just "be happy" about a deformity.

The problem is thar DA V sounds like a chick movie half the time (im a woman so spare me the drama on this), not to mention absurdly present day. The dialog often sounds like something from a Hallmark movie. The fact that many women who have not played many classic rpgs were heavily involved in writing this is painfully obvious. Id watch this maybe if it were an angsty modern rom com fantasy movie/show like say the Librarians or better yet Twilight - veey much Twilight lol, but as DA the long awaited dark fantasy game sequel?? 🤣🤣

Now compare everything the same but with Baldurs Gate (the entire trilogy), Dragon Age Origins and so on, and the beating of a morally castrated and faceless disabled person called Dragon Age Veilguard is just pathetic, especially since you even changed the games from the east, and this is complete sucks.

I think that both styles of writing have their pros and cons. None is inheritely better than the other. Western style tries to be more casual and to the earth while eastern style more often than not is dramatic, poetic mostly tries to convey deeper emotions or importance of once ideas... I think...

@Myrmonden but you have in the title " Western RPGS". Because I can think of a few Western RPG that has good writing old and new. Like Balders Gate 3, the Mass Effect Triology, Fallout New Vegas, Dragon Age Origin, Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous and Pillars of Eternity.
