It’s all in personal preference. The western star has more of a old school feeling. The cascadia is more of a new school truck. You’d hate driving my 1999 Western Star 4964EX. But I love it. She’s old loud and manual. All traits that the modern driver doesn’t appreciate.

The red WS has the Starlight Stratosphere sleeper cab which is longer than the average WS but the longer the sleeper the harder the turns so the WS you have is better in a way, U can park easy on parking lots unlike the extended version which has a little a slow turning radious. As for your preference on trucks belive me WS grows on you little by little, it's the little details that other trucks lack, you will see this when you change trucks, also the durability on this trucks is legendary, don't take my word for it! you will see it for yourself when you switch. Safe travels and keep on trucking.

When I drove truck (I'm almost 70) I put at least 3 applications of RainX on the windows and mirrors. It isn't until the 3rd time that it really starts to work really well. It's like the raindrops bead up and can't get off the windshield fast enough! Almost got caught up in watching the rain drops instead of the road! I was in a serious downpour, and if you looked through the windshield it seemed like it was barely sprinkling. BUT, put the door window down, and it was another world the way it was coming down. At least 3 applications, and buff with a real soft cloth or buffing rag. Use plain water and a hand squeegy to clean any dust or bugs after using it for awhile. Any serious bug splats, use a razor blade to "shave" the bug off. Should last 3 or 4 weeks. Very nice video, by the way.

@@TheRustyCracker ah ok.. I thought you were doing it yourself.. i noticed a difference in this video from the last one i commented on. I was wondering if it was because of new software that was the reason I asked.. also thanks again for taking a suggestion I offered about the heavy traffic dialogue, I was hoping it would create a nice bit of drama and it looks like it did.. what do you think about some "sound effects" with different traffic/travel scenes. (dont adjust track volume, play with "gain", to make it more of a background feel) those go really good and would have went very will the the hard braking part in this video.. depending on software the editor could have match the horn sound and inserted possibly two audio tracks, jake brake & tire/brake squeal to increase the drama and excitement. I do have one minor thing to constructively criticize, if you are open to it.. I did notice that the transition wipes and opacity were not all the same. i am not sure if that was planned or just kind of happened. Either way I love the quality of your production and your openness to try new things.. again Great Job!! again stay safe at home and on the Road!!

I’m currently in a 2020 Peterbilt 579 with the big sleeper and I’m going to be getting into a 2021 Western Star 5700XE with the big sleeper. Why? I miss rowing gears. I hate the automatics to be entirely honest, the turning radius is bad, the Cummins X15 is stupidly loud, and I hate how the switch panel layout is so scattered across the cab. Don’t get me wrong, I’m thankful to have it, but I think a Western Star is right up my alley. The one I’m getting one has a DD15 with an Eaton 13 speed manual. I’ve watched enough videos about them to know what I’m getting into, including your videos which have been super helpful. The 12V issue doesn’t really bug me, I only use one up front and one in the sleeper. My 579 has 9 12v outlets and 2 USB ports!
