Some of my favorite westerns are on this video! I really like Junior Bonner! Great cast! Most of it was shot on location in Prescott Arizona! The Get Away isn’t a western but easily could be!

Another case where the art was greater than the man who made it. Sam certainly had his demons, but we can be thankful that those were somehow transformed into these fine movies.

Safe to say he had a lot of demons. Also safe to say his non violent films were mostly ignored

🐎my top 3 has to be 3,, The Wild Bunch 2,, Major Dundee 1,, Ride the High Country 🦬Sam also directed some great tv episodes of The Westerner (Brian Keith 1960) , Rifleman (Chuck Conners 1958-59) & other western shows🐂

In The Deadly Companions Peckinpah was not allowed to direct any scenes with Maureen O’Hara. All scenes with her were directed by Brian Keith. This was repeated in The Score where Marlon Brando refused to let Director Frank Oz direct him. Even calling him “Muppet Man.” Robert DeNiro directed all of Brando’s scenes. It goes without saying that Sam and Brando were geniuses, but extremely difficult to work with.

Always found it funny Peckinpah made westerns but was scared of horses.

The narration is a complete mess.

Not sure 'complete' is the correct adjective here. There are 3 seconds of overlapping narration at 2:56 and 10 seconds at 3:18, otherwise seems fine. But this is quite unusual for this channel.
