Excellent review. To the point. Entirely relevant. No flannel. Superb looking awning. More than enough space to towel your dog off. Thank you.

Like me you keep the Thetford chemicals just outside the hatch door. Somehow made me smile 😉

Like you we have a RVA2 that we use for longer stays and have had a Westfield Lynx 200 for a year now that we use for short stays. We have not experienced very bad weather when using it and so your video has been very reassuring. Looking at creating a weather seal similar to the one on the RVA2 that might help with the gap that is caused by the BC2 light cluster

That’s what’s on mind. Maybe two triangular shaped pads similar to the RVA2 and slot in.

Great looking awning Nick compliments the shape of the Basecamp really well. I do like the idea of the brace pole instead of an air beam on the inside. Not sure how you will get around the gap at the bumper I use limpets on the kampa 200 but you might have decals in that area which would be a problem. And of course the nightmare of trying to get the thing back in the bag looked easy 😂 Another good vlog mate 👍🏻

Thanks John. On reflection I don’t think a solution to the gap is a deal breaker for us as we will use this awning for typical weekend breaks. I was impressed with its over all performance. However I would prefer to sort it. The awning can’t be beaten for pitching and packing down simplicity. The light weight conserves energy making the overall setting up process just that little bit easier. These awnings can be snapped up used on eBay and Facebook marketplace for circa £200 which is absolute bargain.

Agree that that’s a great looking awning Nick. I have a Kampa Rally Porch awning which seems similar (albeit without the air bladders)

Love the base camp videos so entertaining… got a cute little doggo what app do you use for the hike trails ?
@FlyCampCaravanNorthWales Жыл бұрын
The app is called Outdoor Active. It’s brilliant. Easy to plan hikes on the map or find and follow routes posted by other users.

Excellent review. Which awning would you suggest for bad weather, Westfield or RVA 2? Thank you
@FlyCampCaravanNorthWalesАй бұрын
@@TonyWilliamson-s6k both will take the weather but I’d say the Westfield has the edge. Definitely my choice for winter on stays of three nights or more.

Hi Nick , where did you purchase the orange quadrants cushions , the orange ones. Also the throws . Love your informative videos that much we have purchased a basecamp 2 this weekend 😊
@FlyCampCaravanNorthWales Жыл бұрын
That’s amazing to hear… many adventures ahead🙂. The cushions are all from Dunelm as are the grey throws. The white, orange and grey throws we use in Summer time are Swedish and where also Dunelm but they sold out a while back. Most Basecamp owners use Dunelm to personalise their living space!

Hey Nick, what is the floor like on this, does it have a ground sheet sewn in (bathtub style)?
@FlyCampCaravanNorthWales10 ай бұрын
It doesn’t have a bath tub style floor. Not sure any caravan awnings do. I’ve three other awnings and all of them do not have a floor. I put down the dometic Kampa awning carpet. That being said, this is a lightweight travel awning so it’s a basic awning. My ‘go to’ now though for shorter breaks.

is the mesh midge proof ? 10 midge = 1 mosquito
@FlyCampCaravanNorthWales10 ай бұрын
The issue is not with the mesh but the gaps in the storm seals caused by the protruding bumpers on the Basecamp caravan. That said, I’m not sure if the mesh is midge proof as not used it in the summer months yet.

A nice review, however I had to watch it in 2x as your narration was far too slow, you sound robotic.

Thanks for that feedback. I make this content as a hobby so I’m far from professional. Learning as I go so I will consider this for next time and see how I can improve the audio👍🏻

@@joanneellis3154 thank you Joanne for that feedback😊. I’ve also seen the all electric BC. Interesting concept. The only compromise I can see is the loss of the ability to go off grid.
