We ended up going for a canopy with sides for winter trips (or when we aren’t using the Dometic ace air 500s) , the only frustration for us was that there is no side door on it so you find yourself walking around the front constantly….but it was cheap so worth a shot. The price of the smaller Dometic awnings is phenomenal still & fair play for finding a second hand one locally!

Hi Dean, We have a Canopy and Sides as well, I know what you mean about having to walk round :-). We just wanted to something that would be small and enclosed to keep out the weather. Agree they can be expensive and I am always on the look out for FB bargains. Thanks for watching and commenting

It's a great awning. You can get a front canopy which zips in over the main window and connects to the metal pins you asked about. Also available is a tailored mat with cut outs for the air beam. Fits really well.

Little metal pins at the front are for when you use the front canapy they go inside the poles I have 260 grate awning

hi David, that makes Sense, I assume the additional Poles will hold the canopy up and are an optional Extra as I don't have them
@davidbeever2294 Жыл бұрын
Yes it is optional extra a little bit expensive £110 but you can roll the front up and if its raining you can still sit in awning and not get wet👍

Hi, It has been really useful We have used it a few times now for the wet weekend breaks. Thanks for watching

Like the awning, just ordered one for winter weekends as nice and small and easy to dry at home if needed. Shame didn’t get a bargain like you though 😂😂😂x

Just got home today, so I had to bring it back wet. Stuffed it in a bin liner and put it in the back of the car. Should be easy to dry out. I couldn't believe how cheap it was. 😁

We have cheaper Starcamp 220. and it shows, lightweight tent pegs and no poles for side of caravan. Excellent size though, we use it more storage, like you wet weather gear, shoes, bikes and outdoor furnish. Also makes great all weather drying room in warmer months. So convenient to put up and take down. Pegs take most of time. Can stuff into large rubbish bag if wet for transporting. Small enough to hang up in garage to dry if need be.

Agree very convenient and lightweight. We will use it for more as a wet / drying area in those winter months. I just got back yesterday, from a wet weekend, and it is stuffed in a bin liner ready for me to dry it out this week, 😄. Happy Camping. James

I have the same awning came with our caravan and, like you, can not fathom out what those pins are for. I shall keep searching.
@CaravanEscapades1015 ай бұрын
Apparently, they are for the extra poles that can be purchased to make the front into a canopy, and they stick in the bottom of the poles

We have the 260, so a bit wider, was using it last week, stood up well to the storms we had down in Brighton. BTW £150 is a cracking price!
@CaravanEscapades101 Жыл бұрын
We used it this weekend, and it stood up well in the heavy rain. No leaks, etc. I'm very happy with it. Do you have the 2 pins on rings attached to an adjustable strap in the corners I can't for the life of me work.what they are for. I watched your vlog, and it looked like you had a couple of internal metal poles. (Not the ones against the Caravan) past the air pole. Or was that just my eyes deceiving me
@CaravanVlogger Жыл бұрын
@@CaravanEscapades101 No just the 2 poles by the caravan. I just push those pins into the ground on grass, but leave them on hard stand..
@CaravanEscapades101 Жыл бұрын
@@CaravanVlogger Thanks, I will give that a go, it looked like they were to go in the bottom of a pole or something
