Thank you for the discussion about natural and “clean” not being the same as non-irritating! I have recently realized that I am sensitive to rosemary which is in so many clean beauty products. I love the formula of the Tower 28 glosses and the Bronzino but they both make me feel like I am actively acquiring a sunburn. And even waaaaaay back when Bare Minerals powders were being promoted on infomercials as being great for sensitive skin, I tried it and found out I am super sensitive to bismuth oxychloride and all the Bare Minerals complexion powders made me want to scratch my face off to the bone. Conversely, my skin loves coconut oil and I know lots of people find it to be really problematic. It really is unique to each person and it’s nice that you mention the potential for formulas to not work for people!

I do feel that this WA product is for people with mature skin. For me, at age 50 this works brilliant on my skin. I also notice at my age the less foundation I use on my skin the better it looks. To me this is an everyday makeup where you are just popping out and want to throw something on that’s quick and easy, not necessarily for a night out. It’s minimal which is what I’m looking for but may not be for everyone.

Im a foundation stick gal and all about skincare and love luxury items even when I really can’t afford them at the moment. I’ve had money before lol. And perhaps don’t have any now because I spent it all haha so, wait till I get things rolling again. I will have all her products AND Victoria Beckhams stuff too. Just so worth it TO ME to have beautifully natural looking slight coverage and glow. Not disco 🪩 ball but just youthful and healthy and to get it from a serum. Love love 💕 love

Wow!! I actually was surprised by how much I love this product. The Ilia and Kosas were big no’s for me and since this is similar I didn’t think I would like it. I can’t stop reaching for it because it’s so beautiful. I do agree about the scent😬. Love your reviews just wanted to throw out how great it works for this 48 year old old with dry skin. Btw, I love it even more with a little powder in my t-zone.

I was thinking of getting that product but I cannot wrap my head around those skincare claims justifying the price : I cannot make sense of actives in foundations since I apply them on top of my sunscreen! How are they suppose to be super effective on top of a slight barrier? For that reason, I couldn’t pull the trigger and get it!

So, I know you aren't excited about the Caliray skin tint for it's shade range, but I love the formula so, so much. It pairs with the Kosas power beautifully! Worth adding to your encyclopedic collection, I think! I'm curious about it stacks against other skin tints on the market.

I actually bought this and i loved the formula and was definitely able to build it up. It also wore really nicely throughout the day for me and i have combo/normal skin so even though I get oily in some areas. i can still set it and it looks great. The summer fridays one is cheaper but feels drier and pilled on me

I hated the summer fridays one… If your skin is dry, absolutely avoid as it clings to dry patches and if your skin is oily it’s gonna be too shiny looking! I think it’s only good for super normal and completely unproblematic skin!

Wasn't going to buy it because it looks too oily to me on most people but now definitely won't buy it. Great honest review. I think everyone wants to love WA products but some just don't cut it for me like her lip compacts, mascara and most of the eye pods.

I tried that skin tint when it first launched and found it deeply underwhelming. I wanted more than a skin tint that felt straight out of early 00s. But the biggest disappointment with that launch was their foundation brush. I have all of WA’s complexion brushes and this one felt scratchy on my skin (not something I’m okay with for that price tag).

I'm a big fan of a lot of Westman Atelier's stuff (though not the mascara), but found this product to be a pretty big fail for me due to its making my wrinkles look a lot worse. I also did not like the shininess of it (which I guess is due to the first ingredient being squalane). I thought that maybe it would be better for women who are younger and/or have had Botox, but I guess maybe not. I agree that the Typology foundation is a similar alternative that is much better as well as less expensive.

A new foundation that I would really like to see you review is the Chanel Water-Fresh Complexion Touch, which seems to be new on the Chanel site. It is medium coverage and doesn't seem to include any fragrance, and is available in 16 shades. So I guess it is a spin-off of the Chanel Water-Fresh Tint, but with more coverage.

Thanks for the review! I bought the Laura Mercier. Unfortunately it didn’t work for me and I returned it. It just didn’t seem to want to blend on my 66 yr mature skin. It was weird. I tried it a few times and just looked …. I guess I’d say splotchy/ polka-dotty. Still searching for a lovely, e a s y go-to. For a more full-on look I’m still enjoying the NARS Light Reflecting. I’m thinking of getting a sample of the Chantecaille Future Dew from Nordstrom. Thoughts?? I know you’ve mentioned your mom loves their Cushion version. It’s def a need-to-try-before-buy due to the $price$.

Chantecaille is KNOWN for being super mature skin friendly, and the cushion does have a more smoothed and luminous finish than the gel, but they are both GORGEOUS.

@@kackie I just got the Chantecaille sheer rose glow tint and it’s lovely! Blurs, perfects and smooths. And doesn’t smell like rancid cooking oil. 😉 It does what it says so well that most days I don’t need any extra coverage even on rosacea flare up days. It’s a winner for me.

Lysine is just an amino acid. In skincare it is thought, like peptides, to help with skin barrier, hydration, softening, and maybe therefore with fine lines and the such.
