In fact, King is a shallow driver at just 11mm deep. A deep driver would be 12mm or more. And protip: Deep drivers are so much easier to control in the forehand shot.

The king has to be my favorite roller disc. Used to not be confident in my backhand roller but with this king, I was really able to get it out there. After a bit of use, and a flat or anhyzer release it will easily and readily roll, and for a long time. Great for low ceilings and cut roll angles.

Thank you for the Westside reviews, Mr. Lindahl. The King is loved by those of us who will never throw 400’. I throw it forehand and backhand for max distance which for me is about 360’. In the future, I would like to see like for like comparisons of trilogy products; Maul vs Seer vs Maverick for example.

I had a white king 167 weight in origio plastic that I could just bomb. Threw one just shy of 400ft (with elevation) Not many discs I can say that about with my noodle arm. But I also loved it for long forehanded S shots, one of the few discs I always felt confident to throw. It all came to an end when I forgot to pick it up. My game hasn't been the same again since... that's why I would love to get another one some day. Would love to see a review of the new Maiden.

For me, the VIP King slots just below my Goldline Havoc's in stability (slightly less stable). I usually throw the King in open areas when there's no wind or a tailwind. The King is one of my favorite drivers. I have never thrown a TP King, but if you choose my comment, that disc would go straight into my bag, as I will make space for it for sure! Thanks for the videos, Danny!

I've been slowly moving to a mostly westside bag and feel like the King would make a great replacement for my tern. I'd love a review of a giant and a world so I could decide between the two!!!
@mmldiscgolf6 жыл бұрын
If you had a star Tern, then you might not find them to be as similar, but definitely dead on match to the Champ Tern. I like the flat VIP ones. I have two that are earlier runs that seem to be more overstable than typical. Feel-wise, I think the champ tern and VIP king are a perfect match.

I’ve recently added more power to reach 400’, but it has come at a cost of turn and burn on my Nuke Ss Ti. Will you review the Gateway Apex as I now need an in-between low canopy driver for some of the technical courses in St. Louis? A review of some hometown plastic is always nice!

The King is my favorite disc. They bomb, especially if you find a domey one.

Seems to me a round edge would be better then a knife edge type driver for rolling. It really depends on what you want the roller for heavily wooded greens with or w/o a clear line. . Just recently bought a Westside VIP king for a forehand roller and there is no disappointment there. Have a typical 300ft and my max a little over 400ft. very straight. Beat up stable discs make for the best long distance rolling in my experience now.

Looks like a great disc for someone like me that has a natural hyzer release. Love the videos Danny, keep it up!

I throw a Queen and love it. I wonder how the King would fare with my arm speed now. My distance has been steadily increasing and a bunch of discs I used to hyzer flip now turn and don't come back, I feel like I'm in an adjustment period constantly as my form and power improves and increases.

Man I feel like a 14 speed it just a little fast for me. But I do love these reviews. You break it down so well. Thanks for the video Danny. Keep up the good work!

I used to love the king. Amarillo Texas is at 3600 feet of elevation so it’s a touch more stable here. I put grew it but I still tried to throw it. Turn and burn or it would go forever. Great disc. Just lacked consistency for me. I can’t help but eye that pearly boatman on the wall. And wonder if it’s one of the boatman that came stamped vip but had a lil moonshine mixed in. It’s the one disc that I seriously can not find.

My friend gave me a couple of tournament plastic kings to try out. I can second your comment that the -1 turn isn't accurate. Seems much more understable. I would not throw this into a headwind. However, it does feel nice in the hand.
@johnevans48904 жыл бұрын
Was not expecting it to be so understable. But when I hit that hyzer angle right, boy does it go.

Maybe I still don’t have the power to throw this fast enough but I find my Origio Prime Burst King to be quite overstable. Even beat in, it dumps out on a flat release, for me. However, I love this disc on forehand. I can regularly hit 300-310 with this disc.

I like my king for hyzer flip and also if I release it flat I get this really long turnover shot out of it.

I don’t have a King, nor do i have Danny’s arm, but my VIP Destiny seems to be more stable and just as far as the King. Have you reviewed the Giant?
@WestsideGolfDiscs6 жыл бұрын
I have a review of the Destiny on this channel! The King is definitely more stable. I couldn't throw the Destiny full power but the King had no problem handling the torque.

The king is a great disc but I prefer the queen because it has a little bit better feel in the hand and I can throw it just as far if not farther

I haven't thrown a current run King...would you say that it's still more under stable than a Destiny?

With the extra turn and less fade as stated...sounds like the King's destiny is to be...a Destiny? Also...I'd love to see you throw an Ahti. Ahti is god.
@WestsideGolfDiscs6 жыл бұрын
It's not quite as understable as a Destiny. More controllable turn and more reliable fade. I couldn't throw the Destiny full powered but the King I had no problem.

@@WestsideGolfDiscs True enough. I'm also forehand dominant, so we're coming at it from different angles. Literally. Awesome videos, as always!

I actually found a really worn king in elasto, can barely throw it since it's so flippy, so i guess its kinda broken. How did it fly before that?

I have a king in tournament plastic (171g) and it just sooooo flippy, as soon as I put a bit of power it just goes to the right. It is hard to control for me (better saying: I am too bad controlling my angles) but I gotta say that I made my farthest thrown ever with a king (~110m or ~360 ft). I wish I could control it more.. so maybe that VIP King can help me practicing.. :P How about a review of the maiden?
