How did you work out that it was a cracked head and not a leaking head gasket prior to removing. I have one that has over heated and is now pushing coolant out if the radiator with the cap removed when cranked over, but won’t start.

Hi mate love ya videos, Quick question, is it a easy job putting the exhaust and inlet manifolds on after installing the head, I was leaning more to that way as it’s lighter and I have nobody to lend me a hand on the installation, cheers.

Hi Guys, just found your channel it is very informative. I have 2 questions for you. I have an 09 plate D40 Adventura Auto 2.5 1) I have a buzzing sound when press accelarator pedal no lights on dash no loss of power. stops making noise when take foot off power. 2) She revs high at low speed and seems to change gear when foot comes off gas pedal. Are these connected am trying to fix myself.

Hi Dess very disappointed that you are a let down. Videos are great its a pity you can't back it up. The navara you did the chain conversion on failed as you know. You couldn't find the problem or wouldn't admit it! The company that repaired ur bodges had a good laugh and said they are greatfull of all the business u unknowingly send them!! Useless avoid this company never got a service or money back! RIPPER

G,day 🇦🇺 I've got a 2009 D40, had the mechanics change the engine 12months ago, now this engine is starting to play up,,, why are these Nissan engines Lennon's?? Just wondering if a different brand of engine can be used,, Cummins, Duramax, or some other brand that has a proven reliability history 🤔????

What causes a d40 check light to remain on and vehicle doesn't cross 3 thousand rpm I change pump and same thing

You will need to get the fault code then i can tell you what to do to fix it

Des and the team . I'm currently getting prices at the moment to rebuild my d40 navara yd25 euro 4 engine. Cracked a head 8 weeks ago. I found a lot of scoring in the block. My mechanic suggested a rebuild. $4500 for an exchange engine I'm looking at .

And what would he be doing.for example what would be new and what would be reconditioned?

I'm hoping everything will be new. New injectors and injector pump and a duplex timing chain upgrade. I've done all my pricing up but I'm waiting to see what the mechanics pricing is to see if I've found cheaper or not

Christopher Rogers injectors for recon are £150 +vat each or new £250 +vat each that’s in the uk fuel pump are between £600 to £1000 cylinder head £600 including gaskets timing chain £475 upgrade kit big end and main bearings £80 piston rings around £50 you will definitely need oil pump £240 and oil cooler £116 then your block will need to be sorted and your crank will need crack tested.So hopefully this has given you some idea

Could you guys explain the difference with the YD25 engine between the VSK d40 navara and the MNT d40 navara please . I'm having trouble getting parts for the MNT yd25 but I can find parts for the VSK YD25 engine really easy. Will a VSK YD25 engine fit and work I'm a MNT Thai build d40 navara ?

I’ve got to the point of taking the chain off but see the chain has a rear housing, didn’t know if this has locating dowels or if the head will of come out from hide it ?

Does the head come out past alloy housing between the chain and head. Or does the whole front of the engine need stripping ?

@@p38steve0 So your removing the cylinder head if that’s what your doing you need to remove the top timing chain and the 10 mil bolts also at the back of the head you will find a 12 mil bolt you will also have to remove All the best Des

Heads now off many thanks that 12mm bolt holding the water pipe to the head would of definitely caught me out if I hadn’t of see this video.
