It’s why All Might was slowly dying and AFO died. The nomu that bit All Might caused this. When it bit all might it left behind a prion in all might’s body. If left unchecked which is was it will inevitably kill the person by preventing the hearting from pumping. It’s why all might had issues moving his hands. He was losing his motor functions. All for one received the prion when his blood mixed with All Might’s. Given All for One had a regeneration quirk here it allowed the prion to replicate and with his old injuries from all might kill him. -Void Draco

Yes it just really done not make sence for ida to get it becuse ida is still focused on stain and really isn't the ideal hero in almights eyes and would have chosen someone else even if it was a moment of desperation he still saved all the students there and deku was there who had proven to almight that he would have been the best choice to be a successor after the sports festival. Like ida is only focused on getting revenge on stain for his brother.
