@@arielsea9087 That's minimal (only due to taking the mom's car & parents' money), but other than that she *knew* products at Target costed money. And they said she had $400 to spend at Target. The only reason I say "minimal" is because she didn't steal anything from Target like some others might have done so if they might not have been taught "right from wrong," at a very early age. This doesn't excuse the fact she shouldn't have done that in the first place, but the only people she's essentially stealing from her parents. So her parents' are going to have a long talk w/her after that incident if they hadn't already and she does to some level have the mental capacity to learn and grow from it. Imagine her turning 13 and looking back on this.

Children as young as 3 can point and tell you which direction to go for certain things in their community.... Such as directions to their home.... The local grocery store.... Try this: if any of you have children or grandchildren as young as 4.... When you are away from home.... Try this experiment.... Ask them how do I get back home? You will be amazed how they will point and show you how to get back home.... Which is awesome! I work in early childhood development... I’ve seen parents arrested for child endangerment for leaving their 8 year olds home while they go to work because they can’t afford daycare. This story is not cute. Praising an 8 year old who has the ability to steal a car, steal money and put people’s lives at risk driving is not praise worthy. Where were the parents and how come they are not receiving charges for neglect and child endangerment? If this young person caused an accident while driving I don’t think people would be giving her the same amount of praise.

@@irenemunoz3824 I had several questions, immediately… 1. Where were her parents/guardians? 2. How/why would an 8 year old even begin to think that this is acceptable behavior? 3 Had she been allowed/taught to drive?( I had a neighbor, who thought it was hilarious for his kids to be behind the wheel in empty parking lots) 4. Was she even frightened, at all? 5. If she caused injury, death, would the parents still be let off without repercussions? 6. Did no one see a child walking throughout a store with hundreds of dollars in her hand, making at least 1 purchase & immediately become alarmed…ask her where her parents/guardians were?! I mean, I could not get past the front desk at Planet Fitness so don’t one of employees asking me if the Black Card member was with me. I, definitely, did not find it humorous, do not know the whole story & commented on how I would feel as a parent.🤷🏾‍♀️ Fortunately, no one was injured; that would have been devastating to any parents involved. 55 years ago, when I was 3, my friend Pamela, who was also 3 and I rode our tricycles to Dars Variety (5 and dime) without telling our moms. we rode about 3 miles across town. we parked our trikes out front and went in to shop. we likely had two bits or so in our purses, but I am pretty sure my parents had an account we could have charged our purchases to. Anyway, the store manager saw us and didn't think anything of it until our moms didn't show up. The Safeway was next door and it was not uncommon for me to go to Dars while mom shopped with my little brother. Well eventually the store manager called my mom and when my mom answered the manager asked her if she knew that Pamela and I were at the store shopping. Of course she didn't. Oh Lord, I miss "the good old days". We were glad to get a ride home because the way back was uphill. I don't recall getting in trouble, but then I was 3. 😂

Look up the abcs of salvation teenmissions on Google and it should be the first result, click what it says and read and do what it says, It’s not hard (and if it is ask God to help you), I promise you it’s more worth it than you could imagine. I’ll leave you with these verses… “that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭10‬:‭9‬-‭13‬ ‭KJV‬‬ “And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.” ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭29‬:‭13‬ ‭KJV‬‬ God Bless you and may The Lord Jesus guide you and teach you as you live your life. When I was in 4th or 5th grade the new OutKast CD came out and me and some buddies were bored. The dude whose house we were at had like 14 kids in his family, it was always a madhouse. My buddy had the bright idea to go get the CD at walmart but his older brother wouldn't drive us, my buddy was not happy. He took his keys and we loaded up in the car and went to walmart, got the CD and drove home. Nobody was ever any the wiser we went, not even his brother noticed his car gone. We enjoyed the ish outta that CD.

Every other report I've seen about this was not taken serious at all. Reporters laughing like it's cute and even the police talked about how they let her finish her frap. Nothing about this is ok, she could have killed someone. The fact that she was bold enough to do this tells me there won't be a punishment. Kids that are actually being raised by functional adults wouldn't do this. This is a child who gets their way and the adults around her worship her.

I was six years old when I bought a candy bar by myself at Kroger's. Repeatedly, when I was 7, 8, 9, and 10, I bought a ton of candy at a small, local convenience store with my friends. No one cares how old you are if you are spending money unless you are buying cigarettes or liquor. We had a lot more freedom years ago than kids do these days. But we did not have freedom to steal the car for a joyride.

Tbh I worked at Target the summer I turned 19, and neighnorhood kids sometimes shopped there. It was a well off area, so I wouldn't have been surprised if one of them spent that much. None ever did though, and they were usually a bit older too, like 12ish. So this situation would have struck me as slightly odd, and I would have asked about her parents and transportation, bc she's going to need help with the $400 merchandise I just sold her.

When I was a transit bus tech, our Gillig factory trainer told us of a similar story. Happened in Bremerton Washington. An autistic passenger that regularly rode the shuttle van. ( para transit ) He took a small bus, went around town picking up friends. They went somewhere in town. Had their fun, then he took them all back and dropped them off. Parked the bus and went home. The bus washers noticed it wasn’t fueled & washed, and it had more miles than reported on last shift. They verified it with security camera footage. He didn’t damage anything. We joked, they should have hired him !

She took the car without permission. I'm guessing taking things of others is not a problem for this kid, so whoever she got it from might not be accountable. It could have also been hers. Like birthday/Christmas money set aside on her behalf, that she decided she can use how/when she wants bc it's hers. I don't think it matters that much; even if she had complete autonomy of the money, that's no excuse to drive the car.
