Drew Lock can pound sand. He got hurt, and when he got in, he looked like trash against a 3rd string defense. Tommy knows the system better and could be our future longterm back up. The Giants should start him and see what we actually have.

Nobody is guaranteed being the franchise QB. Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold come to mind as guys who got the boot only to have their best football ahead of them Elsewhere! I hope the same happens for Daniel, and he won’t exactly be starving in the meantime. Hard not to like Daniel as a person and as a resilient hard worker, but that was not enough. I don’t think there is any mystery in Tommy getting the nod over Drew. He resuscitated a suffering fan base last year and brought us some long overdue fun. I wish both guys nothing but success ahead, but this needed to happen. Personally I found the constant missed tackles even more excruciating than watching Daniel.

They still could have had Nix or Penix last year even with the wins! Caleb is not looking out of this world and Daniel’s has looked great. But Nix might having a better season than both. Can’t tank & try to build a winning culture for a QB that might not even be that great

I’m a Syracuse fan. DeVito was terrible there. I also watched him when he transferred to Illinois. He was terrible there as well. Giants are kidding themselves if they think he’s the answer. But I guess there’s no where else to go

It is unlikely DeVito will get much more offensively out of him. If he does win and has numbers better than Jones, which probably will be better than the Jones big year average. If that happens and considering what Jones got in years and money given so little positive information, DeVito should be next year's starter, someone most people consider a 2nd or 3rd round talent is most likely a Levis or Lock. First it is a waist of a high draft pick, 2nd it is a waist of 2 years like the teams that drafted Levis and Lock, and you pass on the 3rd QB next year, who is better than the guy you drafted, because you just drafted a QB. They stay at 2 wins they will have the top 2 pick, if Jacksonville has the #1 they may trade up or they like Sanders and the rookie contract Lawance may be available. If you only have good or bad choice, Lawrance is in the good QB bucket given 4000-yard seasons and other things, he is Jones on his 3rd contract if things worked out better than a sane person could expect, he has 1 more year of his rookie 5 years, is 2 years younger than Jones, and another team eats bonuses
