Incredible, My arms would have ached, I would have come off so many times going down there.

Well that looked like a nice day out in the forest haha

It was lovely! 5 laps of Fringed hill in a day was quite a mission though.

one of my favourite local trails, although a bit of a mission to get to.

Black diamond’s uphill is pretty rough.

Damn bro that looked steep. I really need to find some riding similar to Nelson before I head back down. I'm also amazed you stayed upright on the wet roots at the start haha. Awesome track by the looks.

I don't think there's too much around Wellington that will prepare you for those crazy steep Nelson corners. Maybe Kissing Rock in Arapuke or Topa Topa in Miramar? Haha so am I, there were a lot of out of control moments. Definitely worth a ride if you're going to Nelson, I think this and Butters are my favourite trails there.

@@TrailAtlas I'm in the waikato, absolutely nothing like nelson around here, not even in the redwoods. Yea I'm still waiting for your butters video 😀

@@Dipshtnick92 Have you ridden much of the unmarked stuff in Rotorua? There are a heap of steep, rooty, gnarly off camber trails that will test your skill. The Croods for one.
@Dipshtnick922 жыл бұрын
@@Gmork-The-Nothing which one is the croods? I've done busy/messy hands and one that cuts through the te maunga top section and one that runs off the side of hill road between corners and taniwha. I really need someone to show me the secrets of the redwoods

@@TrailAtlas are the corners worse than those dropping corners on Yeah Gnar? Keen to try it but those are prob my limit!

Where else in NZ is there riding like this? Im a nelson local and I don’t know anywhere to ride like this.

You're a lucky man living in Nelson! I can't think of anywhere else in NZ with such long technical descents. Rotorua has some steep rooty illegals and Queenstown hill has some nice ones too. The trails in Nelson are pretty unique!

How long of a climb was it to get to the trail head?
@jamieroberts63452 жыл бұрын
About an hour to top of Fringe, then 40 mins or so along the ridge. When the 629 climb (eh tu) is back open its about 20mins less

We shuttled up, but as Jamie pointed out it's quite a pedal to get to the trail head.
