Edge diffraction like no other.

True, like the Lintons. But both are designed to be played with grille in place which mitigates that somewhat.

What is edge refraction?
@rxonmymind836229 күн бұрын
@Dazzles6969 Diffraction happens when a sound wave meets an obstacle. When this happens, the sound wave is distorted or its direction is modified. This happens differently, depending on the frequency of the sound. Different frequencies have different wavelengths. If the wavelength is bigger than the size of the obstacle, it passes through it like it’s not even there. So for woofers, diffraction is not much of an issue. For higher frequencies, which have a short corresponding wavelength, diffraction can and will happen

@ ok thanks. So is that a bad thing with these speakers or is it the room?
@rxonmymind836228 күн бұрын
@Dazzles6969 Not sure. YOU will have to make that determination. I could have you sit in front of $100k speaker but you don't take a liking to them. Every ear is different. For me Focal speakers are a little too forward and clinical and one had to pair them with a mellow amplifier. OTOH these Dentons, Linton and I suspect Doves all have to have a little more lively receiver like a Yamaha which tend towards the clinical and forward. So it depends largely on how you pair the system. My Marantz 2500 sounded horrible on the Dentons but beautiful on my Klipsch Bells which are super efficient. My Sony sounded not good on the same Klipsch Bells but wonderful on the Dentons.* Shrug* You will have to sit and decide what's best for you.

Nice three-way bookshelves. If the tweeter is a real upgrade on the Denton 85th then these are a great option.
@handokosetiawan28038 ай бұрын
Looks like they use the same (over bright) tweeters as Denton 85 / Linton 85...
@shinjukutrain8 ай бұрын
@@handokosetiawan2803 No, they used a redesigned, upgraded tweeter assembly partly taken from the Dovedale. No-one says the tweeters on the Lintons are over-bright, anyway. They integrate differently on a three-way speaker.

Great sound for the money! Is that an Audiolab Integrated Silver running things in the background? Thinking of getting a pair but I have a Naim Nait 5si with an entry level pair of Elac Speakers, its amazing really that most people give up on their speakers until they can be fully driven by a quality amplifier stet up! To me its so important to pick your amplifier first then your speakers!! Thanks for sharing!

Amazing , did you compared with Lintons ? Are this better ?
@hifitower0018 ай бұрын
I have been compare with linton. Bass and soundstage are less than linton. But I can not say Super Denton is lower level than Linton. Wharfedale design Super Denton for the people who love Linton sound but thier room is too small to match with Linton.
@hifitower0018 ай бұрын
So if your room is big enough, recommend go to Linton. But if your room can bot handel the Linton bass, Super Denton is a good choice.

Thank you so much for the answer, I am into this matter: super Denton or Linton, I have a 25 -30 squares meter room , also I like that lintons came with stands in a beautiful package, the price in Romania for super Denton’s is higher a bit because is new model

There is little bass in this song, too complain about a subwoofer makes no sense, reading comments down below. As mentioned I am driving Elac B6 2.0 speakers with Naim Nait 5si and they sizzle and you don't need a subwoofer no matter what is played back! My Elacs with Naim although modest in pricing play like Proac or BMW Speakers, close your eyes you cannot tell, again its not the speakers its the amplification and quality!
