FULL: Former sheriff Jamey Noel's daughter, Kasey, sentenced to prison

Kasey Noel pleaded guilty to nine felonies including five counts of theft and four counts of tax evasion. She's been sentenced to 60 months in prison with 51 of those months suspended to probation.

You’d think it was too much time if it were your kid. At least be honest about that. Usually the prosecutor and judge will start with a lower term with a first time offender. Hopefully the 9 mo prison sentence in this case will be more than enough, and I think it will. 9 mo is actually forever when your freedom is gone, when one is looked down on and judged like you did with this young lady you know nothing about. Words can be more hurtful than than this prison sentence when spewed out in hatred. Americans have the longest jail terms of any other “first world” countries. We have more imprisoned than even some brutal 3rd world countries. We are also the only “civilized” country still with the death penalty. Haven’t we not yet leatned learned yet that it doesn’t work? To call this “systemic corruption” is ridiculous. This is one person who made some bad choices who is probably a good person otherwise. So what harm has it done to you? Yes, if you need to judge someone judge the rapists, the murderers, etc. hold off on your judgement for the long woman who used an American Express card and signed inaccurate tax forms. Since SHE will get the consequences of her own actions, it’s sad you feel the need to add to the punishment in any way! Don’t judge least you be judged or worse.

I don’t know much about this but I do know this: she is a very young girl who trusted HER DAD, when he set before her. She was a victim that was naive & did not research her decisions. She will live with this “blind faith” for the rest of her life. She’ll never get the dream job she has always dreamed of. Her guilt comes from not researching, questioning & trusting her parents. It is very sad to see a 28 yr old blonde woman go to jail & serve. She will not be the same when she goes “home”. Her parents should be sent to jail as well.

She knowing and willingly used this credit card. She is most certainly not innocent. She changed her plea, so that she wouldn't gamble on getting more time! She should be in Clark County Jail, but it seems the Judge is trying to help her. He was being very gracious with the 9 months sentence, as tax evasion could land you 5 years.

She is 28 years old not a child. Look at the mom's pouty face. The only thing they regret is they got caught and are being held somewhat accountable. The whole family should have to make restitution for every penny they stole but they will likely never pay. Who else gets 25 to 26 months immediately knocked off 30 month sentences for all her counts. The Judge asked her what she learned, she DID NOT SAY I SHOULD NOT STEAL!

It' should b reasonable to comprehend. This is not a rare crime, it' takes place from the very top at unimaginable large scale . An example being disgraced president Biden & trickles down to smaller thefts like this. It's a borderline epidemic, people's greed outweighs their moral and ethical values. I'm confident saying that you & I probably know a few people that our committing theft or have committed and just hasn't been exposed or remained quiet. Theft of tax dollars is excused in people's conscience as a victimless crime. (Which is ridiculous excuse)

This does seem like a light sentence but there are factors in it that hold her accountable. She has 5 years hanging over her head and the judge promises her he will sentence her to all of it if she makes the slightest probation violation. She has to pay over $100,000 in restitution as part of that probation. That means as a famous criminal, with 9 felonies, she will have to try to find employment (that will be very difficult), then with whatever low paying job she finds, she will have to pay restitution before ever getting any income for herself. If she is as greedy as many think she is, there will be violations and falsehoods given to avoid paying the restitution, that will put her in prison for 5 years plus the penalty for any crimes committed to avoid paying restitution. If she learned and follows the rules, she is allowed to change and not be a lifelong criminal.

These cases should have been tried outside of clark County. Im not defending anything they've done, but our justice system is very biased and even corrupt. Everyone deserves a fair trial, and i dont see how you could get one in clark County with a case like this.
