AC1 - Memory Block 4 - William of Montferrat - Stealth Assassination
In this case, the title is most likely not an exaggeration as I've played every Assassin's Creed, but ive probably racked up 1000s of hours just on the first three games alone. They were the first games I ever really enjoyed so they have a special place in my heart and still around 15 years later I still play them consistently. The reason why I still play these games is no matter how good you get, you can always improve mentally and mechanically, and playing the stories attached to the gameplay and learning the lore never gets old to me.
The aim of this video was to Assassinate every roof-top enemy without taking damage and remaining undetected, while also showcasing some flashy parkour and assassinations as well as strategy. I usually prefer playing without the HUD on, but for this video, I just wanted the sync bar on to show that I never got detected or took damage. This could be improved upon as there are a few mechanical mistakes that could make things flow even smoother, but I did the main things I was going for, and considering this was all in one take, I'm pretty happy with it.
Might continue posting stuff on this channel when I get the time
P.S Sorry for a couple of skips in the gameplay, my capture card is a bitch. Thankfully it didn't happen at important times, this was all in one take.

@zahid-ku8uz To think adults couldn't even master the first AC, now children can pick up the sticks and do everything no issues. That's not assassins creed to me. I'm a die hard old school fan of the franchise and I'll go out on that hill until I see massive improvements. Unity was my last breath of fresh air in all honesty. After that I checked out.

@@zorex.You’re right but vaulting and side ejecting successfully that much in one take is still impressive. It’s been awhile since I played ac1 but I’m pretty sure the aerial assassinations aren’t that simple either. They weren’t like ac2’s as an intended mechanic. You had to hit the sweet spot to even get them to work.

@@plaidchuck every Ubisoft game is repetitive. The rpg creeds are no exception. The worlds are gorgeous, but seriously just as repetitive, in origins one of the collectible missions was to collect rocks. Collect. Rocks. And combat is pretty good. @scalycoronet5198

The first AC game gets so much flak for being repetitive, I think that’s honestly undeserved though. I see it as a massive sandbox where you tackle each objective in a way you come up with given the intel that you can choose to pursue if you want to. It’s easily my favorite AC game because I see it as a big playground where I can do things the way I want to. That’s something that the series never really captured after the first game due to the shift of focus towards missions instead of basing it solely on assassinating targets and gathering intel. I don’t fault the other games for focusing on that, but they’ll never be like AC1 in my eyes.
@PeeTiii
@PeeTiii 2 жыл бұрын
Completely agree the structure of the missions were so good and to this day don’t feel repetitive as you get to explore the different districts of each city and all can be approached differently. infiltrating a restricted area full of guards to kill a target is the essence of assassins creed to me and is my favourite mission type. Although certain aspects of AC were improved along the line I agree the assassination scenarios in this game were some of the best. Thanks for watching and for the great comment!

In fact the game is very repetitive in all ways. Open world content is unfinished. They add open world activities only by ending of development. Cutscenes has no operator work in common. Game is very short.I think they should continue the plot after Al- Mualim death(add the Cyprus for example).The game can be described with word "unfinished". @RedFloyd469
@RedFloyd469 Жыл бұрын
@@Assassin-ys5vw No, we complain about the newer games because they are a hack and slasher rpg first and a stealth game second, as opposed to the original vision for the franchise. The very purpose of the assassins was to be a scary group of people who could find any target and eliminate them without people being any the wiser (not in the real world, I simply mean within the game's lore.). Also, the newer games are objectively more broken and buggy. Also also, when I shove a hidden blade in somebody's neck, I expect them to die in a realistic manner, as it was intended in the original AC. It was all about simplicity, a darker tone of story and theme, a more realistic approach to combat and body movement, etc... In the new games, shoving your hidden blade in an officer that is 2 levels higher than you will chip away some of their health. That is absolutely anti-tethical to the franchise's original philosophy that it simply chased away fans. All of this shit was gradually being killed off due to AC2's popularity and more agressive gameplay. And while I absolutely adore the ezio trilogy, the trends that it started backfired once Black flag came around. AC4 was a pirate game, not an assassin's creed game. And unfortunately, all the mouth breathers couldn't tell the difference. AC4 led to the absolute destruction of this franchise and you all know it. It killed off everything that was unique about AC, everything it originally stood for, and replaced it with mindless spectacle, a horseshit protagonist, a plot-driven, characterless, story-lacking game, an uninteresting setting, a meaningless "modern day" first person version and the loss of all real intrigue, to be replaced by mouth-feeding the gamers the answers to everything all while killing off the mystery of the original AC and it's immediate successors. And now the franchise is LITERALLY a looter slasher. Shit's disgusting. Sure, stealth is in the game. It's about as fun as every other modern day ubisoft mechanic. Not very.

If you do all the investigation missions before a target than you actually get maps and intel that shows you pieces of a puzzle that you can put together to get the smoothest, hitman-style kills, it's very cool and well thought out despite the gameplay loop itself being very simple.

@@PeeTiii Yeah, it really fleshes out the "villains" of the story. You start off absolutely loyal to masyaf and simply find out the templars aren't really evil, they just do things in a different way, with more emphasis on large-scale political movement rather than just killing the bad guys and barely changing anything in the process. AC1 really set up that whole clash of anarchistic individualism and love of human life vs pragmatic utilitarianism. The templars were simply doing what they thought was the best way in order to create a peaceful world, and the assassins were doing the same thing. There weren't really any villains, only AL-Mualim was one, manipulating you from the start. The templars were a distraction, he was just power-hungry. Hearing the npc's talk, hearing about their plans, what they want, while doing these investigations really adds so much character and freedom to how you shaped your own story and how it affected the protagonist (at least in theory). Unfortunately, I suppose that wasn't fun enough for many people. There is no denying the wonderfulness of the ezio trilogy, but it did introduce much more hand-holdy mechanics and a more straightforward way of story-telling that kind of contradicted the original vision for the series.
@PeeTiii
@PeeTiii Жыл бұрын
@@RedFloyd469 yeah I agree AC1 was very open to interpretation and philosophy based (unlike most other AC games) which was what made it so great. Like you say the Templars aren’t villains, but I would still say they are even though they want the same goals I think there means of control makes them evil, (especially once the pieces of Eden came into play) but that can depend on your own moral compass or even just how you interpret the Templar orders methods. But yeah no doubt Al Mualim went of the deep end, if anyone doesn’t think he is a villian then I’d be surprised haha

AC1 has by far the best movement and combat of all the AC games. You can control what you do at basically all times during parkour, be it going up or down, or ejecting from a climb to a wallrun, etc. The combat doesn't make you feel like an unstoppable force, quite the opposite, you feel like a dude wearing cloth fighting steel clad knights, as it should feel. It's hella exhilirating and rewarding to take out 12 men at once. The entire templar arena towards the end felt like a genuine slaughterfest, where you were the one getting butchered over and over unless you managed the impossible. Real shame how every game after AC1 dumbed down the parkour and/or combat with each new entry. AC4 was fun, for a while, but that was because the boat mechanics were fun as hell. (Will never forgive them for patching out the ability to upgrade a ship part directly to the top level. I had grinded all the resources necessary to do a complete un-leveled to max leveled ship upgrade when the patch hit, so I could barely get one part to max, or maybe even just the level below max, as the grind requirement got explosively increased with that bs)

This video reminded me of some of the Grandmaster runs from the Tenchu games or the 'ghost' runs of the early Splinter Cell titles. I love how sandboxy the first AC game is with its' target missions. That takedown of Montferrat at the end was vertigo-inducing - very cool! Subbed

@PeeTiii 100%, Jerusalem is a hard escape on rooftops & inside those market places. Guards on AC1 give zero BS. Unlike majority I actually like Valhalla alot. Just take a non biased approach. & the Viking setting is something most true old school AC player's thought would be an amazing concept. Its a good game.. I went AC1,Ezio Trilogy,AC3,Blackflag, little Unity than quite. Bought Valhalla & its made me buy AC Origins. I like this new style of RPG AC gameplay. But I wont pickup Odysseus, due too the fact you dont have a hidden blade.. Best is by far Hook Blade from Revelations. & I honestly thought Revelations & AC1 was the Best imo. Respect 🔥

I think it was around my 10th time playing this game that I decided I wanted to make all the assassinations like in the trailer: run straight towards the target, not killing anyone else, as fast as possible and unnoticed until the last second. That´s when I did that jump over the main gate on 0:28. It´s not a big deal at all, I know, but I was so pleased with how it played out with the air assassination at the end.

I've only recently got into the AC games and have been on a major playing spree. I played them all, just out of order. AC1 being third to last played, and I have to say, the game is undoubtedly my favorite. I loved the combat, and wish it was the same in AC2, and the parkour was awesome, especially when I discovered how to manual vault and started doing it all the time for the dopamine rush. I wouldn't say it's the strongest of all the games, but It's definitely my favorite.
@NightingaleBrawlhalla
@NightingaleBrawlhalla 2 жыл бұрын
AC1 is by far the best AC (IMO) The combat isn’t the flashiest, but extremely satisfying and simple and easy to use. But very snappy and responsive. The free running is extremely simple yes, but grab ledge mechanic for those extremely high jump off ledges into ledge grab as you did in the video is great. I get it’s not realistic by my god it makes doing it so much more satisfying. The freerunning could be sped up a little as in the amount of time it takes to recover from 1 climb up is slow, but still amazingly satisfying/simple and easy to use whilst being responsive. Also the mechanic of being able to cancel running up a wall with a jump at any time you wanted means way more freedom in how you approach things, unlike in new ACs which make you finish the run up wall animation before you can do anything which feels bad tbh. The atmosphere feels extremely accurate for the time it was set in, although the colours are very dull I’ll admit and could of had more diversity in the way buildings looked etc it still looks good for the time the game was made 2007 I’m pretty sure I forgot. The AC1 Altair robes just look so simple and clean I love it. The game was no where near perfect but it’s the closest thing we have to being an AC game than the BS we have now in 2022. Pretty much everything after black flag was a mess tbh. I just love the simplicity in the way AC 1 was made, with some added weapons and graphics update the game could be improved so much. Love the video.

In my opinion, for a game like Assasins Creed there really was no better place than the Middle east during the Crusades, enemy variety and beautiful cities. AC1 had the best setting in my opinion, and the Brotherhood at its fullest in the first game is great, whats more awesome than 4 men in complete white smoothly taking out an entire fortress? Nothing. Altaïr is one of the coolest characters in video games and so relateable, he feels human. If AC Mirage stays true to the old formular, its AC1s spritual successor. But too many red flags already.
