Rent stabilization in nyc basically means protection of the tenant against sharp increase in rent and a right to renew the lease.

I live in an rso building in LA & it means the landlord is only allowed to raise rent a certain(very tiny) amount a year so like the guy that lived in my 2 bed before me only paid $800 cause he lived there 20 years & now it goes for $2,200 but it’s free for me cause I’m disabled and my parents own it but my upstairs neighbors pay that much to my parents. My parents paid thousands in relocation fee for me to move into it to the other guy which I felt bad about cause you’re not allowed to do this unless it’s a situation like mines. You’re not allowed to pay someone to move out for no reason. My parents never even saw the inside of the building for several years after buying cause of the tenants and their rights which is interesting & cool.

It's not nolita. It's little Italy. People are always trying to come here and change the name of our streets or at least the realtors try to. So, it's LITTLE ITALY. That's it. Very simple. Ok - so your apartment is a really nice size and even the price is decent for that much space. The fact that you have a fire escape is everything so you're very, very lucky. Sense of design is nice but you have no color. It would be nice to make at least one wall into color or even wallpaper it. Your closet is fantastic, and I would love to do my makeup there as well, but I don't wear any. Never liked it too much except for lipstick. And once again it's Little Italy. You are so pretty. I wish you the best of luck with everything. Thank you for sharing your space with us.

Wow ... no hate on her or her space or anything, but it is WILD to me that a small 2 bedroom apartment with a tiny kitchen and the shower in the hallway for 2,000 dollars could be considered reasonably priced or even 'cheap' by anyone... For someone living in a small city in central Europe, where we complain if we have to pay 900 euros for an 80 m2 apartment, fully renovated, this is just insane.

well you'll be glad to know that this apartment for its location is a steal at 2000. Its a rare rent stabilized apartment so if it were to go back on the market, it would be taken within a few hours most likely. Apartments like this woul dusually go for more like 2800-3500

This is absolutely not a 2 bedroom 😅 it’s a living room that was turned into a bedroom and a bedroom and kitchen turned into a closet? But for the price, sounds about ok. She just need to organize or downsize I guess
