Don't listen to the haters. A lot of us that went to public schools were left behind by a system designed to prepare kids to go to college, instead of preparing kids how to deal with life.

Powerful words of wisdom here. At 43, what I thought I knew about myself and life is changing more than ever. Especially when it comes to core values.

Yeah its a trip when you look back right? what you thought was fact back in the day may no longer apply because of the first hand experiences you learned while aging and maturing!

Though I think drawing lessons from life is important, at the same time I think within reason it is also important to experience it for yourself. You say for example that 'hanging with the wrong people' was a negative influence or held you back. But I think there is a positive too. It teaches you who wrong people are, but also the methods they employ to do wrong things to others. And that are very valuable life skills, which you would not have gotten if you followed the well-meant advice 'stay away from them'. The show of character and identity lays in saying 'this is not who I am' and steering away from it, and hang out with better people who share your values. Having street smarts and common sense is very valuable! We have a similar age, and I would be the first to admit I had my fair share of doing stupid stuff over the years, but there is not much I would have done differently including the stupid stuff. I don't think you learn life tethered to a safety rope and in protected environment. You learn life under pressure, and by hitting your nose against the wall. It is how you handle challenges, pressure and adversity that forms skill, determination and character. A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor is very true when it comes to life in general.

If I made it sound like regrets… never that. I was just basically saying if I had the knowledge I have now at a younger age I would have gotten closer to my goals faster. I totally agree It’s important to go through lessons first hand and get those street smarts but sometimes you don’t need to go to jail to know it sucks sometimes it’s better to take other peoples word for it just not everything. Some things may work for one person but it may not work for someone else. I gave generalizations that would be applicable in most situations but even interpreting experiences will sometimes differ based on age. I can name a few things that I believe that change between me at 21 versus now at 40. Learning by oneself and experience is the ultimate teacher but in reality there are people who are not as intellectual as you seem who could break those experiences down into lessons. They just keep walking into those walls over and over again.

@@Freshandforty I will be 31 next month! I cannot drive and feel in a hurry to find love. I live on my own and financially stable. For disability reasons I cannot drive and moving is inconvenient and time consuming for me.

@@pricelessppp I'm sorry that youre feeling in a rush but don't get down on yourself. I felt like I was lost myself, but focus on what you can do, and slowly build on that. Not everything I talk about will work for everyone but it is an opportunity to take bits and pieces and find out what can work for you. It gave me the ability to slowly regain my confidence and bounce back. You're not alone in feeling this way bro! Keep going!

@@Freshandforty Thx you! People have been f-king with my head getting me down wishing I was automatically advanced old age past 55+. I see old people suffer and are in giant wheel chairs etc I do wish that future on myself. People et mad at me for having fun at my own home on my own time like games or watching fun movies or making funny jokes. These old dudes on dateline nbc with grey or white beards I could barely imagine a woman would want with someone who can’t drive. I live on my own and can’t drive I work from home kind of like what you do. I get angry at myself when I want to have fun because old people hate people who have fun.

"People" did tell you these things before you were 40. You didn't listen. No shade. Humans aren't suppose to listen to others too much. It wouldn't be good for our species if everyone did the same things. It's natural to not listen too much to other. It's unnatural to listen to much like people in Jonestown learned...too late. You went out on your own at age 16. Pretty sure every adult you came across was telling you "Bad idea dude." You didn't listen. And you say that in the video. So you're saying opposite things at the same time. You're still learning to think rationally. That's normal to. Takes most people until age 80 or 90.
@Freshandforty3 ай бұрын
I think you didn’t catch it in the beginning, or I could better explain it in future videos. I was saying if I learned these things earlier or if someone told me. It wasn’t a hard one way or another, it was a point of learning earlier. I get it with the Johnstown and drinking the koolaid but the most common thing was oral tradition and Talking. so it is in communicating and listening. It’s what humans did before the printing press. In terms of leaving home at 16, I left to go to college early that was mentioned also. I think I only cut out the part that I left so I can qualify for California residency and get a full scholarship. So it wasnt a bad idea and my parents supported it so I didn’t have to pay for college at all. Majority of the adults around me supported the move and never questioned it because I was an independent type of person already making a decision to for my future. It wasn’t like I was moving to screw around or had family problems. There were no contradictions just just gaps in explaining the full story. So you can’t assume you have the full story just by a a few minutes. 40 years of experience put into 30 minutes. Things will get left out but I do see where you’re coming from. I do appreciate the feedback and it’s noted for the future reference. If you’re not learning you’re dying or just playing stupid. Thanks man

I'm about to move country to marry the woman I met on a bicycle ride that took me from Scotland to Estonia to turkey and back to Estonia. I was going to end my life in Estonia when paths crossed and I was put in her presence. Now when I go there to live three years later my job will be in the grave yard that she is in charge of The crazey stuff that happend in that year of cycling suicide or ride . I chose to say fuck the system I have more chance moving forward than sitting waiting for help that won't come Move and open your vision and take help and opportunity Be what you want others to be.
