My walls are mint! I wish I had her budget to get some nice wall paper. Maybe in another year. My basement apartment was originally an ugly blue. I love blue as a color and I don’t think a dark color in a basement is necessarily bad but this was a very ugly generic blue. Not at all stylish or complex. By complex, I mean a color that isn’t a primary color. I surprised myself by buying a lot of decor in similar hues of mint, sage, robins egg blue. It’s actually quite soothing. I’m trying to counteract all the mint by putting up wall decor in complimentary colors like purple, pink, teal, and orange. White is soooooo boring.

I love, love, love this space! It's stunning. It still blows my mind how in New York, people spend so much money renovating rental space. I know it's what's done but it's mind-boggling! In Texas, we don't do that. If you rent, you are lucky to get a landlord to agree to let you paint even one wall.
@SL-lz9jr2 жыл бұрын
Probably because this is expected in a primarily rental market? But not all landlords allow this. At 6k a month rent, she’s a premium tenant. Pretty sure rich people can do whatever they want provided they have landlord’s permission. But I live in a lowly basement apartment here and while I can’t renovate (and wouldn’t want to… it’s a rental after all), after spending 4 years renting a bedroom and sharing a house with 3 roommates… once I finally got this studio apartment, I needed to decorate and make it nicer. Too bad my apartment came partially furnished. I’m stuck using some of the landlord’s furniture. It’s ugly.
@AOuiBitWorn2 жыл бұрын
@@SL-lz9jr You are right about being premium. She might have had to show renovation plans too. I'm sorry you have to use their furniture! I'd hate that too. Love "Sweet Digs" for personal ideas and styles into interior design. But I've been wondering how difficult it can be to acces to a bank credit to buy your own house/appartement in USA? 6K/month in rent is way too much!
@sabrinacomotto35653 жыл бұрын
It's not about access to credit. Millenials and younger generations don't believe that purchasing a house is a good investment. They think to pay a mortgage is a waste of money because you "get stuck" in a place. I was raised believing the contrary -that to pay a rent is a waste- and in my country to buy a house is still a goal for many people, so it's difficult for me to understand why you would invest so much money in a house that is not yours...

@@silkscreenfantastic I'm based in Argentina. I arrived to this conclusion after some conversations I've had with millenials, articles I've read and lots of youtube channels run by millenials when they talk about how cool is to live as a "forever renter". Perhaps they're just glamourizing their difficulties to buy a house, who knows...
@pattyshawramirez47273 жыл бұрын
i agree the 6k is wild but she probably gets most of it covered from beinga production studio, one photoshoot video shoot she could charge 6k in a day! now i can only speak from my experience, as someone who has lived in NYC (Lower and upper east side) and now Williamsburg ownership is absolutely something we ALL dream about, but it can be really out of reach specially as a single woman, for example a nice "renovated-ish" small studio in Williamsburg can start at $500k you can find better deals in queens and deeper in brooklyn but lets say Williamsburg is where you want to be that means you are at least making over $185k (that might be low tbh because mortgage, taxes, HOA payments, renovation, just having a life and savings, any debt, etc) and then they ask you to have a 20% down payment... so theres lots of factors to consider, ultimately for now, i would rather pay rent in my nice renovated apartment with a backyard in prime Williamsburg than have to settle for a small most likely walk up studio just to own...
