@johnjaeger2968 Жыл бұрын
@@sally---- because who the victim is/was has a lot of bearing on the matter. If someone robs a store and shoots one of the clerks, does that not matter? Shooting someone with no power to resist implies that it might have been a thrill killing, for example. I'm not saying that the crime should be treated as lesser or greater than other crimes of a similar scenario- with the exception of crimes against children and uniformed police. And the latter is merely a matter of practicality. This isn't a woman who shot at a uniformed officer. Unless they can prove she somehow knew that he was a cop, then she shouldn't be prosecuted as if she intentionally and knowingly shot a cop, because that might provide motive where there wasn't any. While I generally support police, I've been known to lambast particular cops for being shitheads or menaces. Those words shouldn't be twisted to imply that I intentionally murdered a random cop who did a no-knock raid at the wrong address at 3:00 AM because I woke up to bangs and screaming in the dead of night and acted in reasonable self defense. And it's not just a matter of personal interest, but one of civic interest - in neither her case or my hypothetical scenario do we want the media on either side making it out into something it's not. Anyways, I haven't finished the video yet. I am undecided on my impression of her intent here, not that it really matters what us YT lawyers and ethicists think at the end of the day. I don't know if it was intentional, but I do think she's a menace either way for showing no remorse or concern whatsoever thus far.

This. It doesn’t matter their opinions on the criminal. Anyone who thinks it helps the situation in the slightest to insult and ridicule is sadly full of rage. Yes, it is very easy to be angry about this girl’s actions - but it doesn’t help anyone or anything to let yourself get taken over by it. These officers did a fantastic job in getting the truth, getting it quickly, and doing so with dignity. The criminal was prosecuted appropriately, and the victim’s family even agreed the girl did not deserve to die for her crimes. Love is the only way forward. That doesn’t mean we have to let people get away with these things, it just means that we don’t have to carry the burden of anger and hatred around with us. She deserves what she got. The officers did a great job. And I admire the victim’s family for their strength and compassion.

This should be required viewing for all high school classes in alternative schools, or for the hard ass kids that think they’re smooth criminals… showcasing that in the blink of an eye your life can be gone. And what exactly it will look like when they’re caught… when.

Agree it should be shown in schools. I think they should follow her life in jail to and show wat happens wen u commit such horrible crimes .her life could have been so much more but her upbringing and environment plays a big part in some people's lives it's sad for all the lives that have been ruined rip to cops families 🙏

That's the excellent work of the detectives utilizing the Reid technique. Unlike the Hollywood good cop bad cop routine, the favored and most successful interrogation technique is to convince the suspect that they're only there to help them. The detectives literally tell her this in the interview. Generally, if you see an interrogator berating and belittling a suspect, you're seeing an interrogation that has gone badly and the interrogator has lost their professionalism. Moral of the story...ask for a lawyer and then zip it. It's not a crime to have a lawyer present despite the "if you're innocent you wouldn't need a lawyer" statement they'll hit you with. It's their job to obtain a conviction, not to prove your innocence and they know all the tricks but, so do the lawyers. That being said, she's exactly where she deserves to be.

It's sorta like a poker game where the stakes are your life. This is pure survival instinct kicking in. You're hoping they don't have enough info on you to convict, and slowly the cards are revealed while you try to decide how to play your hand. Before you know it, you've lost, and then all the emotion starts to come out.
