PETE WAS TALKING ABOUT PATRICK IN THE BEGINNING IM CRYING
@rexdaileg65736 жыл бұрын
goes to show how a good portion of FOB's fan base is a joke. hahaha seriously. pete is a lyrical genius. but you always see comments on youtube about his appearance about how he acts on interviews and while they're performing. imagine being objectified while you put your heart and soul to songwriting.
@kaitlyn.ferguson6 жыл бұрын
pete wrote it about himself and about patrick. he wrote it as a promise to patrick that he’d never attempt suicide again and also to tell patrick basically how great he is. people think “i’ve got troubled thoughts and the self-esteem to match” is in patrick’s perspective kinda and it’s pete’s way of telling him he should love himself. (this is based on everything I’VE seen so i could be wrong)

***** well, the mic is irrelevant, autotune is applied to the sound once it's at a mixing desk probably. But the reason he's is autotuned here is because patrick could not consistently hit the notes before the haitus. He was not a healthy guy, they were partying too much, touring for years, he was overweight and his body was not good. Look at the incredible improvement as soon as he takes some time off to improve himself, halfway through the hiatus he's in his damn element, had some time off to get better. He's damn brilliant now but he was not good live before the hiatus. For the record, listen to any live performance prehiatus and if you know what to listen for, you'll hear that it's almost certainly either autotuned or bad

Despite the pitch correction, this song is so gorgeous to listen to. I remember Patrick talking once about how Pete was writing from the perspective of a character, but the words somehow managed to capture the emotions that Patrick felt so well, as if it were his own words. That's how much of a lyrical master Pete is, and Patrick's music writing complements it so well. The dynamic duo that have been blessed with musical gifts from Heaven above.
