IMO Folie a Deux is their best album. It was the most musically complex album and it was almost like a symphony, and you can hear that especially on the studio recordings. If you listen to the instruments behind some of Patrick's best vocals, you can hear synthesizers and so many more instrumental sounds on songs like this that make this album a masterpiece. This was the peak of Fall Out Boy's musical composition, and it's a true shame that this album is so underrated.
@TheAmoristic2 жыл бұрын
totally feel you on this! truly underrated, perhaps because of some of the fans' initial reaction to it, but it really was some of fall out boy's most intricate work musically and patrick's vocals were so top-tier.

(on that note, and in no way am I saying this is you!) It makes me laugh how people outside of the scene go on and on about how pop punk isn't really punk or whatever, but as soon as a band tries to stand for something, or wants to experiment musically, or isn't made up of conventionally masculine macho bros, then they're not even good enough for Blink fans. I'm so glad there are people rediscovering Folie in recent years, because there was probably nothing more punk in 2008 than some dudes from the Chicago hardcore scene making an Elton John-rnb-emo fusion album🤣 20 Dollar Nosebleed could've been a track from Stevie Wonder's "Songs in the Key of Life" and people... weren't impressed by that?!
