You are right. My Dad God rest his sweet soul had the original Spanish version as well. He exposed us to all genres of music.Jazz was his passion. He sang and played the trumpet and sax. He was self taught. He could read read music with his gift from above. Many offers and played in big bands in the 60's and 70's. My siblings and I naturally love music.

I felt the same exact way. I listened to this song by Dinah Washington when I was little till into my 30’s. Whom was playing it? My mother. Why? Because their adoring marriage was a back and forth thing and each time she welcomed my Dad back she’d play this. Never a final divorce for 27 yrs. so when my marriage was heading in the same way I too played this song over 500 times until the final end after 23 years. Then my song was Willie N. Never Loved You as Much As I should Have because after losing me he’d call and play Willie. So over looking Dinah Washington on her recording I took personal grievance with. This is Dinah not Amy tho I was a freest Amy W. fan, No Greater Love became a fav of mine with Amy singing in only Amy’s way. Beautiful. The sadness in her young life at 27 took several other favs of mine at 27. There will only be one Amy. RIP Lovely Lady. ❤️❤️❤️
