I've thought about running a regular sink but tap in to heat vent system for small feed right in the sink cabinet, should never freeze in winter

Great idea and workmanship 👍👍👍 I was looking for a solution for my garden bar which is a distance from the house and would be a lot of work to get water supply to it and think this would be great - do you think you would be able to connect to a water heater for hot water also ?
@ABrazHouse
@ABrazHouse Жыл бұрын
Thanks! Sounds like a great solution for that! I would probably use one of those tankless water heaters if I went that direction (heated water).

Thank you for your video. Very helpful. But I ordered everything you recommended and it seems like the 3/4" ID clear tube you recommended is too big for the 1/2" Inlet from the pump you recommended. Am I missing something? or should I order a 1/2" ID clear tubing?

Mine was 3/4 from the water container to the pump. Are you referring from the pump to the faucet? That one is 1/2 I believe.

This is such an amazing idea (and on wheels to boot!). One Question, the hose you stuck into the water source, are you putting it all the way so it touches the bottom? (Your Video makes it look like it is only about an inch or so in). Thanks

Thanks! Yes, it goes to the bottom.

This is the coolest thing ever! How does the pump turn on and off with the faucet handle?
@ABrazHouse
@ABrazHouse 2 жыл бұрын
It detects the pressure when you turn the handle on and turns on the pump. Pretty amazing stuff!

Can you please state the make and model of the 5 gal container you use? Do you have to take it out of the cabinet to fill with the hose? At the gpm flow rate of the pump, it seems it would last about 90 seconds total...curious about your experience - is this a fill it every week or so?

Scepter 05935 Military Water Container - 5 Gallon (20 Litre), AM Sand amzn.to/37YXnZ0 Yes, I take it out to refill. No, it lasts longer than 90 sec! I use it about 15-20 sec at a time and it lasts for quite a while. You would be surprised. If I turned it on full I imagine it would last 6-7 minutes. I only refilled it twice over this past winter. Now you have me curious...

Great job! Thinking of this set up for my shop that has no plumbing or drain. Does the drain line freeze on the outside when its running into the ground drain in the winter months? Cheers!!

I haven't had that problem, but I don't run it at long intervals. If I ran it continually and it was sub zero temps maybe there would be a problem. I just haven't seen that as an issue yet. With the length and depth of the drain it would hold as much as I have in the reservoir.

What are you plugging the pump into? A wall outlet? A battery? Can you plug into house outlet and have it work?
@ABrazHouse
@ABrazHouse 2 жыл бұрын
This model plugs into a 110 wall outlet. They have both kinds though.

Why is the pump needed? Is the water pressure not strong enough to push from the line to the sink?
@ABrazHouse
@ABrazHouse Жыл бұрын
The pump is only used when I am pulling water from the container.

How does the pump connect to the faucet handle to turn on?
@ABrazHouse
@ABrazHouse 3 жыл бұрын
You just hook it to one of your faucet supply lines. The electric of the pump is already on, so when you turn the faucet handle it detects a change of pressure and turns on automatically. Pretty ingenious device!

If you are concerned about freezing what would make keeping the water in a container/ pump help that?
@ABrazHouse
@ABrazHouse 2 жыл бұрын
The concern for freezing is the water lines in the exterior wall. With the containment of the water inside the cabinet instead of the wall is a far less chance of freezing, and if it happens to freeze it's easy to repair. Although in two winters that has not happened. If the water line in the wall were to freeze and bust the lines...much bigger problem!

Your tap in positioned wrong. The hot/cold handle is meant to be on the right hand side...Not in the front...

Do you know if this build can be done with the seaflo 12V 1.2 gpm pump?
@ABrazHouse
@ABrazHouse 3 жыл бұрын
I don't see why it wouldn't work. From what I see on the specs it has the auto demand feature and so the only thing I see different is that mine is running off regular 110V outlet and it is just about half less on the gallons per minute. If you decided to go that route you would need a converter to change from 12v over to 110V.

It works well for your situation. But this is an illegal interconnection. If your water supplier became aware of this they would probably cut the service off or make you install a back flow prevention device on your service. Even with a well fed system this is risky sanitation wise.

Quick suggestion before I even finish the video, get a better mic and kill the background music. Not necessary and makes it harder to hear what you're saying.
