What a load of RUBBISH. with the delightful class 141 pacers and no sound track so it has music over and sounds rubbish, but no choice in it! This was Kirk Sandal near Doncaster with some of the first gen pacers. Horrible things they were, rubbish!

They sure were. I avoided them as much as I could. Now I have to avoid the in preservation. I suppose we should keep a few as historical examples of our most hated trains.

Need to do a bit of research 14x family and onwards to mk3 body shell inspired dmu saved the railways in mid 80s from implosion just like first gen dmus in 60s. But your correct a stopgap that was more like full life train

@@grahamallen1970The Derby research centre also designed a coach based on a bus body, one was built but not a success. It was a time when investment in the railways was very low even though new stock was very much needed. To be fair the pacer did save cuts in service and were quite reliable, I don't remember many breakdowns. it was door problems that caused failures. Later on after their proposed life span they began to fail more and get confined to our local area and a few running on GWR. The Mk3 type body shell have been a lot better and BR really could of done with a bit more cash to build more of those instead.
