Great session, Emil! So much life in that first spot. So, after all, asps don't need so much of a current. I'm glad for you that you get that rod fixed so well that it holds to a double fight with catfishes.

thanks a lot man. yeah, the asp live OK also in lakes ... but are much much harder to catch in "calm" conditions when they are just "cruising" and from time to time go for a small fish. I had so many follower that you can't even immagine ... and they wouldn't go for it. hopefully the rod will be OK like this, even though I can feel a change in it's action. cheers man ...

hahaha ... I can't really say that I hate them. I fished a lot for them and love fishing them if there are plenty. But I hate them going for my lure wheen I'm fishing light and any catfish that goes over 1,5m it's almsot impossible to pull out, if not the perfect conditions ... that usually you don't have :))). thanks a lot mate, cheers ...

Bravo for that catfish, you obviously knew what to do. Few days ago I was targeting Asp with UL/L gear and on a small silicone lures and a big catfish took my lure. That was my first experience with catfish. I couldn’t do nothing, he took 10 meters of my line and went under some structure. I felt powerless and at a same time pumped with adrenaline 😂

@AnEm_Fishing My brother lives for aprox 20 years in Italy between Rome and the westcoast near Ostia Yeah👍 we have the pikes and a lot them and very big ones. Also, big perch a 50cm perch is very much possible to catch several of them in a year The zander also but is overfished for consumption in my opinion because a 70cm fish is considered a big one. but I now we are very spoilt here in the low country but my favourite is of course the asp Greetings Frank

Got it about your brother, I live and fish to the north of that are, quite a lot. Been there, beautiful area. Haven’t fished in the Netherlands, I just saw sone videos on KZbin and they were catching some big pike, perch and zander too … but you know how it’s with these videos, nobody shows how much time was dedicated to learn certain spots and find the best conditions for sone good fishing. Sorry mate. I just don’t have enough time to go and insist only for the catfish. The number of the catfish in the water that I’m fishing dropped A LOT in the past 5-6 years and catching a good catfish it’s getting harder and harder and need to dedicate a lot of time for them. Hope to make a few sessions this year but I can’t promise nothing. And yeah … metal rules 😂🍻🤘

The canal that I’m fishing it’s not the Po river, but it’s connected to it. Anyhow, there aren’t so many bass in this waters, and perhaps some lost pike … but otherwise it’s it that diverse. I guess the waters you are fishing are much more diverse, considering that you have pike and perch, asp and zander, catfish and perhaps sone chub too, right? Cheers man 🤘🍻

@@AnEm_Fishing i thought it was the po🫣😋 but i think high flow maybe isnt prefered by blackbass dont really know what ideal is for them ,the river close to My home has asp pike zander perch chub catfish and some but extremely rarely trout and salmon But i think the average size of asp zander and catfish is bigger in the po than here I see you catch fish that are records over here so😀😀😀😀 but it does hold some massive pike and perch But blackbass looks like a fun to catch fish because its so diverse in all the different kind of styles And lures you can catch them On 😀

I always replace the treble hooks … even though my PB catfish was catch with a J13 with original trebles. But I consider that to be luck because that fish was very very well hooked and when I land it almost all of them were bended really really bad … after one hour and 5 minutes of fight 😂. That catfish was 252 … from the shore 🙄🤘🍻

hey mate. I first started fishing that spot in 2009 ... if I remember corectly. back than, every session meant at least 2 catfish there, sometimes some asp and very very few zanders. now, the catfish it's almost gone and I don't want to spend 2-3 sessions (at least) to catch some small catfish. I have tried this year with heavy setups there ... and haven't got any stikes at all. cheers man ...
