Something interesting about Gally from the books: Long before Thomas arrived in the Glade, Gally was stung by a Griever and regained a few of his memories, which exist on a subconscious level. This is why Gally is so distrustful of Thomas, because some part of him remembers that Thomas is "the enemy."

The movies never mentions that Gally had some memories of Thomas before the Maze. In the books, he was a cliche antagonist, hated Thomas from the get go but refused to tell anyone he remembers him from before and for some reason knows Thomas is responsible for what's happening to all of them. The most frustrating part of the book, people refusing to give answers or say something that would impact the behavior of people around them. The movies handle a lot of the points much better. As you said, Gally fears change and Thomas is the instigator of it. it's so simple but it works much better than what the books present. This is arguably the only example of movies being better than the books.
@saulocassiano26172 жыл бұрын
Thomas is like that. Being that active. Part of the reason he was put in the Maze was to push the others to the end of that fase.

In the prequel the Fever Code, it's revealed that Thomas chose to go into the maze. He couldn't stand watching his friends suffering, so he devised a plan that he would go into the maze without having his memories erased so he could lead them out. But Teresa went behind his back & revealed the plan to Ava Paige, who then erased Thomas's memories before putting him in the maze. Teresa's memories weren't erased though, she was only pretending to have amnesia.

@petrastein2531 the book was released in 2017, it's a prequel called 'The Fever Code', and in it they expressly state that Theresa is going in and keeping her memories, only Thomas is being wiped per the plan and the doctor's decision to give him the Swipe. I just reviewed the last part of the book to refresh my memory. And it very specifically mentions she is getting to keep her memories. If you don't believe me, please by all means look if you yourself the info and book is easily google-able

@@KrazzeeKane I didn't read those and boy I'm glad for that, now that you've told me what it was about. I can't believe how an author would retcon his own trilogy like this... Thanks for the info! It reminds me of JK Rowling and her Cursed Child. xD But if you liked the book, fair enough, I'm glad you enjoyed yourself. :) Lovely day!!
@matthewlightwood54122 жыл бұрын
Really the point of this all is to throw us into Thomas's perspective. He's scared, he's confused, he doesn't know what's happening or where he is, and that's what they want. Like they said, they're testing the kids, which means making sure they are always producing adrenaline, always scared, always on the edge of panic. That's just how Thomas's entire story goes, from the minute he wakes up in the Cage to the end of the trilogy he does not get a moment to rest. Everything is meant to be fast and confusing and fear-inducing. That's why the timeline is so fast, because we are experiencing this all alongside Thomas. We don't get the luxury of a sort of third-person perspective, we only know what Thomas knows.

You guys are my confort channel. I'm so glad you liked it. Same as i said in The Hunger Games video, i love people discovering these sagas and figuring out that they are not ''teen sagas''. The main target was young adults because it was the demographic that was reading the books the most, but the topics are very heavy and real and well executed. Also fun fact: The third one took a long time because Dylan got injured doing a stunt and had to spend months in the hospital and doing physical therapy to regain full movility. The second in command was not Gally, it was Newt, Alby also said that. Actually it is probably Alby > Newt ≥ Minho > Gally. This is why even though Gally was against it, Thomas is made a runner, because the last decision was up to Newt. And Newt asked Minho about his opinion on Thomas. Because runners are best of the Gladers phsically and mentally and Minho, the leader, is the best of the runners so it gives him a higher spot on hyerarchy. Also he's best friends with Newt so Newt respects his opinions. Another important thing you shouldn't forget is that like Ava Page (the scientest woman) said, a generation, with kids that are immune to the virus, is born. But not everyone in that generation is immune. (f. e. Ben was not immune so he got infected when he got stung.) That's why they "collected" the kids, to see why the immune ones are immune. They put them in the glade, in a survival envoirment, to test their brain functions, since the virus targets the brain. But the main test was to get out, and our kids survived the maze, so it makes them special.
@breezymango41132 жыл бұрын
You are correct. Newt was 2nd in command. That is one of the reasons people should listen to the dialogue, as well as watch the their actions.
@tinajo18167 ай бұрын
One correction. What Ben was injected with was not the same virus as the flare, so it has nothing to do if he was an immune. It was a type of venom that WCKD put in the grievers to test the gladers and they had an antidote for it, so that is why no one has been stung yet survived and Alby was able to be cured of it. That would not be the case if it were the flare.

In the books the Glade had groups, many young boys got stung by the grievers and they also had the cure for that, it wasn't something that was brought by Teresa at the end, so many of them remembered what happened before the maze and when Thomas came they were like "no, no" with him, among those boys was Gally. Also, the thing that was in the grievers was a serum made by WICKED to make them remember and they sent monthly cures in the box as well. Fun fact: The author of the books has cameos in these films. At the end of this one, he is the guy sitting at the end of the table on the left side when Ava Paige says it's time to begin phase two.

Next 2 are just as awesome. Get ready for a lot more action, some edgy suspense and some heart wrenching moments. Loved this unsung trilogy.

The reason there is a large break between the 2nd and 3rd movies is because Dylan O'Brien got very seriously injured filming the 3rd movie. They had to pause production for almost a year to let him recover. They weren't even sure he'd come back to the project because of how traumatic the injury was. But Dylan is a trooper and he wanted to finish hit for himself, the fans, and all of the cast and crew.

and then after he recover, he did American Assassin before he came back to the 3rd maze runner movie.

A class act, I think.

Loved the reaction! By the way, the third movie was supposed to come out one year after the second, in 2016, but during the shooting Dylan O'Brien, the protagonist, had an accident and they had to stop production, then Kaya Scodelario, the girl, got pregnant and had a baby (she's married to the actor who plays Gil-gald in Rings of Power), so they had to postpone the movie for 2 years and a half

Loved this reaction! The second film is good in my opinion, but the storyline is wildly different to the books! Not my personal favourite but still a very good watch, it really works to set up perfectly for the third instalment! Can’t wait to see you guys dive into the rest, will be checking out your other videos for sure!

If you want a badass spy thriller featuring Dylan O'Brian, check out American Assassin. It's based off of a book series that is extremely popular and it's an awesome movie.

I'm typically someone who likes the books more than the movies of any series, but these movies blew me away. And I even felt that they got even better throughout the rest of the movie series

Great series, good choice! During the third movie, Dylan (Thomas) suffered a serious injury during a stunt which pushed the production back almost a year, hence the amount of time between the second and third movie. Looking forward to your reactions, as always! Also, in case you’ve not seen it: American Assassin is a very good movie with Dylan and Michael Keaton.
@malux3222 жыл бұрын
I can’t even imagine what he had to go through. PTSD and everything aside half his face got crushed cause of a missed stunt. That alone has to be a terrifying experience☹️ glad he’s okay and could return back to acting despite major emotional trauma.

The lead actor I first saw on tv in a series..Werewolf..or something..and thought he was an excellent actor...I Thanks for bringing this to your channel...I'll be watching for the next installments...🌿🌿🌿

I really loved this series. Have all the films and the first book; my oldest nephew has the whole book series. Me and him has much more common things than anybody in our family. Maze Runner is amazing. You guys need to start watching the "Making of" documentaries. The Making of the Maze Runner is something you definitely need to watch; how they turned a grass field in Louisiana into that unbelievable maze; and how the director Wes Ball envisioned the maze and the grievers.
