People are asking what happened to the new Tesla Model 2 or 2.5. I figured it out. The robotaxi was a cool car. The front section is made from 1 casting. The rear section is made from 1 casting. What goes on in between the front and rear can either be a 2 seater Robotaxi or a 4 or 5 seater Model 2.5 depending on the demand. So the drivable car will be produced right along side the Robotaxi. This video told me nothing I didn’t already know from watching the We, Robot event. Also, if FSD literally gives you the same functionality as a Cyber Cab while also giving you a backup should FSD malfunction, why would anyone buy a Cyber Cab. If technology has taught us anything, it’s that’s it’s never perfect 100% of the time. There are always bugs, glitches, patches, and fixes. The Cyber Cab basically makes it so that when (not if) that happens you’re basically stranded, whereas if FSD starts malfunctioning in your Model 3, you just turn it off, grab the steering wheel, and go on your merry way.
@TheCommonS3NseАй бұрын
Given my experience with the Tesla self drive feature, there is no way in hell I would take a ride in a Robotaxi! Now, to preface this, I LOVE the autopilot feature…. But it’s nowhere near perfect. There are many MANY times that the thing will brake randomly, or will try to swerve because a new lane opened up. It definitely helps make driving easier, but you still have to pay attention and periodically take control went it does wonky things. It’s to the point where my wife won’t let me use it when she’s in the car because these minor glitches scare the shit out of her. The full self drive, on the other hand, scared the shit out of me. It would do weird things at 4-way stops. Sometimes it would take forever to start moving at a stop sign, despite no other cars being around. It would randomly change lanes when I didn’t want it to. The system just didn’t in-still trust. It seemed very half baked. Now take that half baked system and throw it into a car that doesn’t have any means of taking control in the event of the car behaving unexpectedly. That’s a recipe for disaster.

The Cybercab's doors should open straight up. As it currently is, it would hit nearby vehicles. It might 'see' the offending obstructions, but even then, it would keep the passenger inside. The Cybervan has its own issue. It needs to be able to raise automatically, or it'll be damaged with every bump or pothole. The biggest issue preventing a commonplace cab system is the lack of charging. Many charging pads need to be installed in common areas to keep the vehicles in service, otherwise they will have a limited area to be used. I've heard some talk of charging pads installed in public roads, but that could be a minefield to get approved considering who pays for the electricity charges.

@@PaulADAigle Going straight up would require the same cost and materials as going straight back. In fact, it may cost less as you're not fighting gravity. @@billweberx The slide on a van, for instance, is an additional cost, weight, and possible future damage. Depending on the design, it could infringe on airflow or interior space, although minimally. Back in 2016 it received 500k pr-orders for model Y for down payment of 1000$ per car to be in a waiting list, that's 500milion$ to create production line and start manufacturing for that model. Same for other models. With such influx of capital it would be cringe to fail such an relatively easy task. "I never believed a pencil shaped rocket can "land" to be reused. Musk and his teams did it. Nobody else did it. Not even governments, forget companies." Well, I'm sorry to break it to you bet NASA achieved that back in 1993 with DC-X. Resons why reusable rockets were scrapped - lack of government funding, high maintenance costs and length of the maintenance. Also, at least at the time payload were more expensive than the rocket itself, So it was more viable for NASA to concentrate on the safety of the payload rather than reusability. The Space Shuttle was the world's first reusable space vehicle. The orbiter, its 3 main engines, and twin solid rocket boosters could be refurbished and flown again. More than 800 astronauts rode on 135 shuttle missions from 1981 to 2011.

I seen concept cars like this in a lot of autoshows. Are they Road legal? No are they in production? No. Both concept cars with elon promises.

So not only were there real people doing the voices of the robots. Real people were driving the cyber cab…😅😂

Nothing happened. I was a Musk Vaporware Event.

Seems people that count how cheap the CyberCab will be misd the point that people are even willing to pay a premium for such a taxi to get privacy, peace and no stress of having to deive yourself. Just as Elon said. You can go to work while eating that sandwich or catching up on the paperwork. That's worth an extra cost if there was one. Would anyone rather take a cowded and dirty downtown L.A. city bus with the homeless or some gang members/criminals?

Same as every other Musk event. Lots of promises he will under deliver on. FSD next year as always.

Imagine ordering one and waking up to find that it drove itself to your house for delivery.

I think the Robo van can be in production a lot quicker than the cyber cab only because the Robo van can be used at such places like airport, shuttles or city bus lines that travel a fixed rout. As for the cyber cab, if somebody were to buy this as their only means of transportation… Would they need to have a drivers license?

I would NOT be comfortable in a bus with no windows. As I fail to watch my destination scroll by the window (because there is none,( it's up to me to realize i missed my stop.
@billweberxАй бұрын
It has windows all the way around. I doesn't look like it from the outside.

My FREE ENERGY design will change the entire energy of the world, all calculations correspond to the laws of physics. And this Tesla will be charged from my installation

It's only a shame that these loos so bad. The concept cars from the 80s looked do much more futuristic and awesome.

This self driving Tesla (=EU Level 5 autonomy) won’t be available before 2030. Maybe 2035. It’s all Elon timeline. Where is the Roadster Elon? Is is delayed like 5 years ???
