Still iffy on Beto's chances since he's pretty new to politics and quite far to the left for a Texas politician. In a regional election, he's just fine. The whole state, though? And fighting the strong conservative bloc and voter suppression efforts? Yeah, it's going to take quite a bit to get his name out there and not to be seen as a "liberal fruitcake" by the fiercely independent Texans. If he'd spent some time in the military or been more active and become very well-known prior to running, I'd like his chances a bit more.
