I think, at that time, Al Franken needed to resign, it was inevitable THEN. However, I also think that he should run for office again, and let his constituents decide if he should be forgiven or not. He was one of the most effective Senators that I've seen. When there were hearings on important issues, he was VERY good at cutting through BS responses. (For example, questioning Jeff Sessions about Russian meddling [to the point that Sessions himself said that HE had met with Russian contacts / and soon after recused himself from handling the investigation].) Franken used just enough humor, and always had staff with very specifics documents prepared: when someone would lie / leave out details that changed the meaning, Franken & staff had charts and quotes ready to immediately dispute (prove untrue) what the person had just tried to get away with some half-true reply. And he lead the way in trying to keep the internet free and equal (not allowing big companies to slow down service to "lesser" users). He talked passionately about 'if there were some new KZbin type company trying to come out today, with the proposed legislation, they would not have a chance in competing with the already wealthy established companies. His absence from the Senate has really been a great loss (a distinct void) in important debates taking place. I don't know if he should be forgiven or not, but I think he should at least run, and let his constituents show their feelings on the matter.

@Ker A correction, K. Kirsten Gillibrand is a Clinton apologist and a corporate Democrat. Like Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Neera Tanden... We Democrats have a word for those sorts of Democrats. We call them 'Republicans'.
@rickrose53773 жыл бұрын
@Ker Right, K. You just don't get it. She IS a liberal. HRC went to my high school. We had the same history teacher, a nice enough Paul Bircher named Paul Carlson. I went to our public schools when they were still good, before Republicans embarked on their campaign to undo the legacy of the New Deal and disinvest in our once great public institutions. After public high school, I was an undergraduate at Yale, then did graduate work at Harvard and at NYU. Hillary Clinton is 6 years older than me. As a college freshman, I used to bus her and Bill's table when they were 3L. I wouldn't trust them as far as I can throw them. I'm a Trotskyist. When I went to Yale, tuition, room & board was $5000. I voted for HRC because what was the alternative: a sociopathic conman?!? Tactics, bro -- the lesser of two evils. Incremental change. Be patient, however -- we're comin' for guys like you.
