bustinasscoach the magic about the First alien is that is not only one alien specie, but 2 and they are so different from what we know, that make us think about how Little we know, about how much fucked Up things are out there. and prometheus/alien covenant throws that at the garbage. IF alien covenant kept with only the neomorphs It would be waaaay better

I think a brilliant way to increase the value of the franchise after Covenant is to return the scope and majesty to the Engineers and say that David merely stumbled upon the xenomorph formula that the Engineers already discovered and utilized. This can demean David a bit and become an interesting plot point for a sequel in which the more warlike faction of Engineers tear David to pieces or attach him into a biomechanical fixture that feeds on his energy like a battery to power another creature/weapon. This can introduce new weapons and biomonstrosity concepts to the story which I find far more interesting and material-rich for future productions. In other words, what else have the Engineers created? And, what in deed are they really?

Yes! I loved it! Then basically have the new crew come to paradise for the 3rd movie with the John Denver song bs and have a similar plot. The xenomorph hasn’t been provided the capability to lay eggs because David hasn’t figured that out yet but after a bunch of fights and a couple of characters getting out alive, David reveals in some way that he may have figured out how to make a self sustaining colony of Xenomorphs. Then make a 4th movie of him testing out his finished product on one of the engineers worlds with using the survivors from the 3rd movie and lead into “Alien”

Looks like I'm not the only one who realised how much this movie turned the whole franchise upside-down, how much it changed it forever. I love how they explore the mystery of how it all came to be, but it's always a heavy change, because they are writing up the story of everything before the events in the movies we all love. Risky stuff. I thought Covenant missed A LOT of great scene opportunities (I thought the rig scene would be a great, epic scene scene paying homage to the powerloader fight), but I'm still happy the movie happened and that the franchise is continuing.

Alien Covenant just goes off the rails. Such a disappointment. I get the idea that the whole thing with the engineers was nothing more than a "plot device" called a "macguffin" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MacGuffin I'm with you on this. Get Ridley to an AA meeting before he gets behind the wheel again, and there is another train wreck of a movie!

Giger is the only answer. If a movie could explore the psyco-sexual nature of the alien and its androgenous qualities as Giger always intended that would be step in the right direction. His work on 'Sil' in Species (although bastardized) shows where he was heading....an alien lifeform more dangerous in its ability to corrupt your dna, take on your characteristics, invade your nightmares, become part of you, mate with you, inseminate you, and burst from inside you. Its interesting that Giger never wanted the alien to have legs. It was larval-like, slug-like, with less defined form (see Necronomicon VI). Totally untranslatable on film, of course, and highly unmarketable to a mass audience who want their xenomorphs solid, safe, and within the bounds of established parameters. Maybe the only mediam that can truly give us an idea of his nightmares is the airbrush.

One of the biggest issues I have with Covenant is the continuity also. It mostly likely has to do with the fact that Ridley Scott didn't write the original story. So his ideas on how events transpired before the original film, are a little out of touch. Not to mention that he is revisiting this alienverse almost 30 years after directing the original film. To be honest, I did like Prometheus. It had interesting characters and a great visual style. Covenant should have been awesome but it ended up looking like it was being made be more then one director. It starts going in one direction then suddenly shifts to an entirely new one....and on more then one occasion. All I wanted to see in Covenant, was an engineer crash land his ship after encounters with a xenomorph/ face hugger. He starts a distress beacon. ..We then get a scene of Shaw frantically looking for David to see that he has been torn in half.. Shaw asks what had happened... David's eye are redirected above Shaw's head as he says.."Mother" Shaw looks up in horror being confronted by a full grown xenomorph..The screen goes black as her screams are heard..... then back in cockpit... the engineer starts to spasm as a chest burster is born.... The End

Another ridiculous Ridley Scott mistake in a long chain of circularity is: Humans develop cryo-chambers to put up with the long distances and slow travel. But then comes along a super civilization and what awesome advanced tech do they have ????? Bigger and better cryo-chambers to put up with long-distance travel and slow-poke space travel !! How about hyper space or sub space or supraluminic , tachyonic super fast travel that dispenses with hibernation !!!!!

I just don't see what's wrong with keeping the aliens as an organism that spreads every really fast. The comics and films refer to them like literal cancer, an organism who's soul purpose is to keep their life cycle going, and everything else is food or potential hosts. Ridley Scott is pulling a midiclorian move on us by making something simple but effective, into a complicated concept that's way more contrived than it should be.

TLDR BELOW Great ideas are hard to come by in movies. Take for instance the Star Wars universe. It has Wizards in space, light sabers, cool ships, the idea that everything you're viewing happened a long time ago in a galaxy far away. They're all basically ideas that can sell themselves. And Star Wars is a franchise with a collection of ideas greater than the movies. Prometheus has one great idea that wasn't fully fleshed out. ''god'' man and robot walk the same plain. A viewing into the relationship between the three (which in my theory was altered by the studio to tie everything directly to alien. That's why we have scientists doing dumb things in order to set off the chain of events that lead up to the Deacon.) David was given properties that the engineers and humans can envy(highlighted by his opening on the ship), but the humans weren't given such characteristics. Instead of giving the engineers something to envy they were replaced by dumb scientists. Covenant takes this creation idea a step further and should scare the hell out of everyone. TLDR The goo from Prometheus was thought to be something that reacts to the users composition. It is why the first engineer in Prometheus creates life instead of just dying. His mental state and how he approaches creation must be considered to understand the theme Man's thought process while creating a machine needs to be considered also. The machine is something created in man's direct image, but an image strengthened exponentially. What the machine chooses to create is the genius in covenant. He creates something that he calls perfection. This only works from the human's perspective. We expect machines to bring us to the singularity . We expect a machine to be our artistic slaves also by creating wonders and things unimaginable, to redefine beauty and existence. David can do this and doesn't do this. Instead of finding his way off the planet, he chooses to perfect the most horrific organism know to all of the above. Tapping into our creation's mindset is impossible. This is a revelation to me. No matter our good intentions in life in what we invent, the results can be catastrophic, and at the same time deeper than catastrophe. Because destroying man kind with a bomb is catastrophic, destroying mankind with a creature that rapes and impregnates you is deeper than poetry.

That's a better and more enigmatic and intriguing idea right there than ANYTHING proposed in either of Ridley's two new films! I'd love the concept that whole sections of the galaxy have to be "roped off" and declared out of bounds as they are swarming with xenomorphs or are covered in dormant aliens, just waiting for hapless travellers to venture there. It would give space that true dark, Lovecraftian cosmic horror vibe that alien used to have.

When checking out the current spate of cinematic failures and soulless blockbuster productions coming out of Hollywood, you wouldn't think the entry barriers were that high to begin with. But that is what happens when you try to grab directors/writers who only have had 1-4 good movies against writers who have 3-4 decades of experience in writing stories for large commercial productions. Of course Ridley Scott can tell any story he likes, but it would help the audience if the story actually links up with other entries in the franchise, so we can better understand what is going on. I think Ridley Scott is trying to tell us a really good story, but the execution and implementation of said story is all over the place. No writer has ever told a story that has become a masterpiece; people have read a well-told story and agreed that it is a masterpiece because of its universal themes and general appeal. Which is why I think so many modern studio films fail. Studios aren't interested in telling society good stories, they are interested in profit generated by any story told. Which is why they will settle for something like Pacific Rim over continuing something like Ender's Game, which has a much deeper and more relevant theme that it wants to share.

YES! Thank you for for "killing" Covenant with an Aliens quote. I didn't mind Prometheus. It was the first of 3 and everyone knows you can't have plot development w/o someone doing something stupid...or a series of stupid things. I could defend most stupid things in Prometheus (trying to pet an alien cobra...remember the Crocodile Hunter? Breaking protocol and taking off your helmet....overly excited about 'being right'.). I can not nor will I ever defend the stab in the face that is Covenant. The most iconic movie creature possibly ever....is the result of a deranged android with a God complex and too much time on his hands? Offensive! Thank you, CorderyFX for a movie idea I can support. I would not have walked out of your movie upset and disappointed. Having the Engineers killed off (so easily....what advanced civilization allows a 2,000 y/o ship to randomly fly in w/o any precautions?) and Xenomorphs reduced to a science experiment "just because", was worse than seeing Optimus Prime killed in the 80s Transformers movie. Covenant is so bad I almost don't care for any explanations, but to address continuity...if David piloted the ship successfully into the city and deployed the weapon...what caused the ship to crash? The movie would have made more sense and been something I could accept if he crash landed on the planet and found it devoid of life and covered with charred bodies, being the result of a civil war. You could even have David and Shaw discover some kind of lab or ceremonial room where they find Xenomorph-related items that lead to David using Shaw as an experiment, too overpowered by curiosity. Even stream-of-consciousness thinking is better that what they came up with. Sheesh!

Not to mention that Shaw does not even get within any distance of another living Engineer again? Why set that up as something that is important and then simply wipe that off the table in the next movie? Even having David comfort Shaw with the reassurance that he would find out by any means the answers to her questions would have been a nod to the first movie? Also helps him in his manipulations of Shaw, but at least that would have been in there?

I wish they could have been separate universes like they originally said. I LOVED Prometheus, one of my favorite movies. I liked David as KIND of a bad guy but fairly reasonable .. (he didn't kill Shaw's boyfriend before asking him if he was willing to die to meet his maker). Prometheus I was attached to the characters. I wanted to explore more about the engineers, where humans came from, are we descendants, why did they create us, why do they want to kill us. So much we could have done. Shaw was a good character, David was a GREAT character. Now I feel completely uninterested in the franchise. They killed Shaw and made David some super villain. Such potential just wasted. I could care less about the actual alien creatures / xenomorphs. They had much deeper story going.

It would also make sense as a refueling/provision port. There were a lot of aliens down there, but nowhere what a homeworld would have. The movie also shows only the one city as the characters descend down the atmosphere to the surface, showing woods and lakes. So it would make sense that this was a colony and not a homeworld. From a story viewpoint it is also better, as it still allows for major backlash from the Engineer race against David for the harm he has caused. I would like to see David being hunted across the galaxy/universe for the genocide he caused, all the while seeding Alien eggs on various planets and ports, in his own madness, spreading his genetical prodigy across the known and unknown spaces in a twisted legacy of his own "godhood" and skewed perspective of immortality. He knows he is going to have to face his own demise, but in his eyes it would have been worth it, if for no other reason than having created an unique life form with his own hands. In other words, becoming what Weyland was to him, him being to his creations.

Maybe Fox should have let Ridley make the Prometheus movie he really wanted to make and not worry too much about tying it to the alien universe. It's clear that Ridley wanted to adapt chariots of the gods into film and if the film was a hit they could have made a sequel and let the fans speculate and theorize if maybe Prometheus and its sequels perhaps tie into the alien universe thanks to some strategically placed Easter eggs that challenge the coy official line that "we should just try to see these movies in the context of the setting and timeline they're set in". That way if Prometheus and paradise lost are a hit critically and commercially and if the fan community wills it then the third film could be the one that definitely connects the dots and lead up to Alien. But if it fails to catch on then they haven't torpedoed the alien franchise and they can take it in a different direction without the need for a hard reboot

The actual problem is Hollywood's obsession with re-makes and sequels. The original Alien series should have ended on Aliens. The leaders of these industries are somewhat only motivated by greed. Who cares if the movie is only made for marketing to lie to the public about the authenticity of the movie, if you can make a huge profit margin during the first month of release thae why not? The people in charge of 20th Century Fox generally make movies that are made for trailers. That's my two cents on this 2nd prequel... Am i the only one who thinks that a series of prequels before the beginning of the first story is a brazen cash-grab and never nearly goes right... *cough cough* Star Wars Prequel

Scott messed up Covenant. Your version is so much better. David didn't create them. The xenomorphs existed thousands of years before. See AVP and the predators fighting Aliens as a ritual dating back 3000 years. Also the Aliens in those movies looked identical to the ones used in the original Alien movie. Further evidence is the engineer murals in prometheus. They show events from thousands of years ago depicting Black alien creatures that are xenomorphs. All David did was recreate the species in his experiments. .... but wait! Now RS says this all didn't happen and David created them. Fuck that. Talk about wasting all the mystery, legacy and history of the species and series.

Supposedly Scott's next film in this series is called "Alien: Awakenings" and it takes place before "Alien: Covenant" and after "Prometheus". But I for one could care less. He should give up his "Gods from the Sky" obsession and just move on to other projects. He's done enough damage to the Alien franchise.

Are we also getting upset about Aliens 3 and 4? The good movies stopped after 2. At least Prometheus was original and breathed life into the franchise, even if Covenant was a misstep. It's not a Gods from the Sky obsession, he wanted to address the question of where the alien came from. It had to have come from somewhere. You don't want to know? Don't watch it. You already got your alien movies. Too many of them that they became bad. I think Prometheus is a natural progression from Alien 1 and 2. I want to know where it comes from! That's a compelling direction. The new movies do a bad job of conveying the compelling ideas behind them, however. Those are found in obscure, hard to find places, sadly.

What's funny is that in the novelization of Alien Covenant, it's explained that there was a fossilized Xenomorph egg on the planet and David explains that the Engineers left it on the planet so what he's been doing is recreating the Xenomorphs and he's only tinkered with the DNA as opposed to being their creator. It preserves the mystery of the xenos.

I can only image how upset long-time Alien fans are going to be after the next prequel, if they continue to re-work the Alien universe. If the studio wanted to earn more money from the franchise they should have done sequels instead. That way fans could just disregard them if they wanted to. But now the original 1979 film is tainted.

The only thing I'd change from your idea was the terrorist angle, & just keep the idea they "tried" explaining in Covenant: The Engineers would've wanted to use the black stuff on Earth not out of vengeance, but out of disappointment. From the deleted scene in Prometheus, where we hear the Engineer talk, we get the sense that it's letdown that the species they created looks up to them like gods/wants to live forever instead of sacrificing to evolve (like the Engineer that created earth life). To further develop the species they created, the Engineers had to destroy it with the black stuff & start again. Keep your ideas with Shaw getting to know the Engineer culture, end it with David ultimately turning on them all because of his god complex. Nicely put together, mate.

My idea for an alien tv-series is as follows: It takes places just before the events in the first alien movie and happens on a planet near where the nostromo spaceship is shipping ore. Weyland-Yutani is on the planet and have terraformed it for years, when they discovers a cave with lots of xenomorph eggs. One of them get's infected and a xenomorph is born. It turns out to be a queen, and a lot of the Weyland-Yutani humans are infected and then a war breaks out. All the humans on the planet are wiped out and only a few manage to escape in a spaceship. Then they nuke the planet from orbit. Then Weyland-Yutani regrets the decision and a hunt for the xenomorph begins. They get a tip that there's a crashed spaceship on lv426 and sends the robot Ash on the Nostromo spaceship. But they are informed that the mission has failed and that Nostromo has gone missing. Then Weyland-Yutani get's a tip about an xenomorph on Fiorina161 and sends a team of researchers there. They finds a surviving prisoner that is impreagnated and a queen is born. Weyland-Yutani then wants to use the xenomorphs on the planets where the engineers are located because they want the technology to seed planets with life. They also want the elixir that provides humans with prolongued life. After they have managed to give birth to a flock of xenomorphs, they drops them on an engineer planet and causes everyone of them to die. Then they get hold of the blue elixir that gives prolongued life. But several ships with engineers that where away from their planet when Weyland-Yutani wiped the population out, pursue them and manages to get the elixir back, but gets trapped on the planet where both parties crash. Then a battle takes place and the crew from Weyland-Yutani gets the elixir that gives them prolongued life for thousands of years, but they are now trapped on the planet, with no means to get anywhere. But then they see a light aproaching, but is the spaceship friends or foes ? It turns out it is the engineers and after a battle they gets hold off the blue elixir once again, and that gives the cliffhanger for a second season that we must wait several years to see???

The big problem here is, that both Covenant and Prometheus explain something that never needed explanations. As much as I would love to see the Space Jockey/Engineers and the Xenomorphs 'explained', the less you know about them, the better it actually is, it's kinda paradox. But that is the beauty of it. And this has a lot to do with how Giger approached his work. What is the Xenomorph in Alien (1979)? It literaly stands for the 'unknown' (next to a lot of sexual symbolism! Like rape and repressed sexual feelings), in a lovecraftian style, something that is truly incomprehensible. The real appeal of the movie is to see what happens when completely ordinary people, like the average person, is confronted with something like that. It is not a coinsidence that H.R.Gigger a 'surrealist' was chosen for the project after all and to design the creature. The moment you make the Space Jockey in to giant blue body builders which 'created' humanity it totally sucks out this irrationality this 'unkonwn' and lovecraftian part out of the movie. in stories from lovecraft the protagonist often happens to realize how insignificant he is, how meaningless humanity is in the face of the 'old ones', ageless space-entities/beeings that usually drive people in to madness, as they completely defy physics and represent something that is not from this world. The fact that all of this plot focused on humanity and how a human is seeking out his 'creators' actually also destroys a lot of the gritty-realism that was established with Alien. Humanity didn't really play any role at here, space was presented as something vast, empty, lifeless and hostile where most planets barely have any kind of substance at all. And that is actually the reality out there, I mean Alien gave a fearly accurate feeling about space, from a movie perspective. It's not like Star Trek or Star Wars filled with all sorts of creatures or intelligent beings and planets with life on it. And the Space Jockey is so weird and strange in apperance, that it really feels like something which evolved completely different to us. Remember how Dallas speculated, that it looked the Space Jockey grew out of the chair? This is what Giger intended, this is what his 'designs' are, a combination of biology and machinery, biomechanics, maybe something that is actually engieered and not born, but actually 'designed' to do certain tasks. And I find this much more intriguing and interesting than simply space Jesus seeding life on different planets. It's very far away from the vision that Giger probably had in mind ...

Absolutely agree not only that you bloat the franchise with unneeded lore and they forced to try and tie back to the original Alien making it a incoherent mess. Prometheus should never been part of the alien franchise it's only damaged the franchise further, Prometheus fans got a sequel that doesn't answer the questions that Covenant was supposed to.

Anyway, do you know what I really would love to see as movie? Honestly, as much as I enjoyed Alien: Covenant, I like this idea lot more. Killing off Shaw (and in such a grotesque manner as the movie implies) before she gets her answers was the thing that disappointed me most about the movie (even though, again, I really enjoyed it). Keep Shaw alive and going to Paradise to meet the Engineers and have David, driven by an ever evolving God complex, destroy them and take Shaw's chances to get answers away from her. Making David killing the Engineers the climax of the film rather than a backdrop would have given that whole scene in Covenant so much more impact. Also, I don't know if the movie explicitly states that David created the xenomorph as much as it suggests he perfected something that already existed. The neomorphs, after all, are products of the black goo infecting the local ecosystem. They are a more primal version that David crafted into an ultimate killing machine. That was my interpretation, specifically because Prometheus showcased the "xeno mural" and the Deacon. So David makes the Alien *as we know it* but isn't responsible for its overall existence. That still preserves its mystery for me. Basically, the Alien is somehow an ultimate product of this black goo's chemical process, thus it is a symbol for the Engineers. They revere it. Their culture is all about sacrifice, destruction and creation. The xenomorph is a beast that follows this process in its life cycle. A host sacrifices itself leading to the destruction of the body and the birth of new life.

Great video. The reason why none of the sequels or prequels don't really work, is because they're not necessary. Alien was the perfect sci-fi horror. The aliens don't need explaining; they just exist as malevolent, relentless beings. There shouldn't have been any sequels or prequels, only Alien (1979).

The Engineers did not create the black blood. They obtained it. They discovered it. Even they do not understand everything about it. They worship the source of it as their God. The Engineers seed world with life as part of their religion. The Engineers saw humans as potentially useful for carrying out their religion. They sent an Emissary who offered humanity eternal life and purpose in the service of the Engineers' God. Some humans became disciples, others rejected the Emissary and killed him. The surviving disciples of the Emissary created a new faith based on their flawed understanding of his message (this ties into Scott's idea that the historical figure of Jesus Christ was an Engineer). The Engineers decided to exterminate humanity as failures and heretics, but lost control of the black blood and it devoured their outpost on the world in Prometheus. The world in Covenant is the original home of those who became the Engineers, though not all of the species joined them. Like the humans on Earth, this species was seen as a useful source of Engineers to carry out the religion of their God. David learns of the God of the Engineers and strives to become a disciple as well, exterminating all the non-believers as an offering. I would lose the dumb and bad idea of David being the creator of the original Xenomorph and simply have him work to bring it forth more rapidly than it might have otherwise. The Xenomorphs are one result of the black blood affecting an entire ecosystem - one of many expressions of the black blood. Cue more films exploring the now much bigger universe and the question of where the black blood truly comes from, what other monstrosities it is capable of producing, and what other Engineers are doing as part of their religion.

Alien Covenant is a complete trash in my opinion. And the amount of good reviews written about this movie just denotes that most of people have extremely low quality standards. Prometheus, even being a bit different from the common Alien movies, was a great approach to a new story. Questions like WHO MADE US, WHO WERE OUR ENGINEERS, WHY DID THEY WANT TO KILL US or WHAT HAPPENED TO THEM made a truly nice atmosphere and led us to think about a sequel, back in the days. Questions that we all hoped to see answered in Alien Covenant. We were wrong, all along. Alien Covenant is a bunch of terrible sequences of bad characters and characterization, irrational acts and unrealistic things. No questions from Prometheus answered and, worst of all, all Alien franchise destroyed. I don't know what happened to mr. Ridley Scott this time, honestly. Good thing wasn't for sure. He made a son called Alien. In this last movie he killed it. Really sad. :(

They're all fucking dead Now onto the stuff people were expecting from Alien: Covenant. You want Shaw back? She's dead You want the answers? No, you're not getting any fucking answers, but you'll probably get more questions I do wonder, if Scott ignored most of the negative feedback, and did what he originally was gonna do, it would of probably been better. Especially if the director of District 9 was gonna direct it!

SCOTT INDUSTRIAL PICTURE PRODUCTION let one loose, now the audience has to smell: So sweet . . . You are certainly a better story teller, but Prometheus was already on George Lucas territory, too much fantasy and magic stuff left only little room for suspension of disbelief. Prometheus is not intellectual in any way as i could read in other comments, it's only a lukewarm rehash of many mediocre movies like the 5th element and on and on and on. I don't need that, a straight thriller would be totally sufficient. Edit: As i could read elsewhere (and now i can remember too) the whole David/Walter theme is stolen from Star Trek (Data and Lore episode), even The Doctor in Voyager is far better and more enyoyable with his AI development than this David/Walter soup. Forget Scott's movie assembly line, he can't reach a single Star Trek episode in terms of story telling.

Your Idea with the Alien DNA being extracted so that it may be reborn again.. sounds cool. But reborn to do what? Next thing is that your entire idea for a movie, lacks the typical for THIS type of genre action and horror. So why not instead, make more flashback scenes, short flashbacks presenting what happened, the key moments, while we still get to see Alien : Covenant. Also the queen alien born from Elizabeth would be nice, but... where is the reason for putting Alien queen ? What if, instead David grew a lot of facehugger eggs ( the same David pukes out at the end of Covenant) inside Shaw body, fully using her reproductive organs. He allowed few of them to grow, to check the resoults, while leaving some not fully formed inside his body. This way Shaw is kidna like Alien queen and Covenant can still happen. All you needed was like 5 maybe 10 minutes of additional flashback scenes telling us what happened between them and Engineers.

i don't understand how they managed to fuck this movie up. They had everything, all that was needed is just put it on the screen. Everything that was interesting about Prometheus was ignored... Why people were demanding to see Xenomorphs all along is beyond me... we have seen them in like 6 movies... is that not enough ? You know why they were interesting in the first place? Because it was something we've never seen before. So were Engineers... It was an expansion of the Alien universe and it had some ambitious concepts! But noooooo ... the majority hated Prometheus, so we got another Alien movie... with no characters, no engineers, no James Franco =). What we got is Ridley Scott changing his mind on origin of Xeno's in the middle of production because of what people were demanding and we got David the Creator! Xeno's are now boring CGI with no logic of how they evolve anymore, they should not have had eggs in this, should have had them grown in a fucking plastic bag like CorderyFX said in this video, eggs should have been left for the future of when Queen is created, they grow so fast too whole point of Xeno to hunt was for it to grow and evolve or so i thought. Now it just runs around like a fucking monkey, also bottom jaw seems way too human. I was anticipating Covenant, i don't think i care for continuation of this Franchise. Ridley killed it! Now there is no logic behind it really, he will just keep coming up with excuses, so be ready anything is possible. Wow a huge let down of a movie

Dude, I completely agree with you and actually like your videos haha! Just saw my comment highlighted in this by chance, I must have got the wrong end of the stick not finding the other review funny, so I want to apologise! Now I've seen a few more, I've got to say your videos are actually really good and again I 100% agree with everything you've said in this one. Keep up the great work!!

I liked covenant as a horror/action movie, but the synth creates Xenomorph plot retcons so much lore it's frustrating. Suddenly AVP's origin isn't canon. It basically undoes all the AVP lore and that's unforgivable...

I would've had it that instead of David doing all the blah blah, Shaw starts transforming, turning into something else, he has to kill her, because its her or him and we go from there.

i always thought that since it's been 2000 years since Engineers tried to destroy Earth (And there was no follow up expedition from them), by the time Shaw finds Paradise, they should realize that it is also a long-destroyed planet... the movie could be mainly about Shaw and David trying to figure out why Paradise was destroyed and the answers (implied) could be something like the following: 1) the real reason the humans killed engineer jesus, was because engineer jesus educated them on technology and brought some of them to Paradise - see point 4 below 2) there are different factions of engineers, and some engineers decided to destroy the humans 3) the humans who were educated by engineer jesus realized what was happening and carried out a plan to contaminate and destroy paradise first with the black goo 4) the reason the plan was successful was because engineer jesus sided with the humans and helped them... but after they succeeded humans betrayed him and killed him too (he was one of the last engineers) 5) the xenos was the only species older than the engineers that they found in the galaxy, and extracting the black goo from the original xenos enabled the engineers to create all other life in the galaxy, hence they were worshipped

The cocoons actually were in Alien, Ripley finds and burns Dallas in one. Sadly it got cut but it's in the director's cut.

Nice work man, I really like your version of the ending; a much more sinister twist to David than what Covenant tried to produce

Though this synopsis isn't better than covenant unfortunately. It just wouldn't work theatrically. The pacing wouldn't work and some parts don't line up.

I think they should have just gave us a damn direct sequel to Prometheus , and answered all plot holes to it .i was looking forward to some kind of interaction with shaw and the engineers , mabe see the way the engineers live as a species , look at their technology and cities, David tweeting the black goo ain't a bad idea but it was soo rushed ! That should have happened at the end of the film where David upgrades the deacan into the neomorth, end it there ! remember the engineers are in some way familiar with the deacan , as you can see in the mural from Prometheus ,so they should build from there to neomorph then to xenomorth ! Then the next film have some deacons and neomorths in direct conflict the engineers , then midway to the end introduce the xenomorths and catch the engineers off guard and all hell breaks loose .

It'd be an interesting _Prometheus-Covenant_ interquel, maybe in book form. In fact I might actually consider that as pseudo-canon in the _Prometheus-Alien_ lore, in my humble opinion. I could imagine that here, *_Prometheus_*, *_Paradise Lost_*, *_Alien: Covenant_*, *_Alien_*, etc. I mean it, your idea sounds really cool, shame that Fox didn't have that much faith in that storyline alone to work on its own as a film. Maybe as an interquel novel, I mean look at the _Star Wars_ Expanded Universe, the possibilities are endless. Just because Ridley makes these movies as he sees fit, doesn't mean that it has to be the final word, let your imagination run wild with it.

The 'crossing' prologue made me think this version had merit. I did get the feeling David had a love for shaw and when he traps Daniels 'is that how you do it' was a reference to this but whatever.

Ok, now THIS makes a LOT of sense!!! You know what ruins movies? Creative differences, ego, attitide, narcissism, anger, bitterness.. People should be extremely careful when they try to asighn a creater, a director or a story writer to a long running franchise or an IP.. :^) Even having personal agendas or political leaniancy can ruin an IP. :-)
