I am not Indian and do not speak a word of Hindi but I totally connected with everything you both said (thanks to the closed caption). You two have achieved so much in the short time you've been in Canada and I still see many more remarkable accomplishments to come for you. My take away from this video is what you said about your first Diwali being depressing. And you decided to transform that negative experience into a positive one for other newcomers! I thought that was so inspiring 👍

Same experiences and same struggles. Big big thanks to you guys for making so many efforts and being so nice and helpful for everyone around. Keep up the good work and may god bless you both with lot more success and happiness in future! And prayers for speedy recovery and long healthy life for Manpreet’s father.. 🙏🏻

My suggestion that whenever you have kids make sure that you celebrate Indian festivals with all the rituals that you have seen as a child . I lived away too a friend advised me this . After all for my children this was the life and this was their home so it’s our duty as parent to pass on the culture and introduce them to all Indian festivals. Remember childhood memories are the most important part of once life .

We moved in April 2018 too...just a week after the snowstorm. Fortunately we had family in Canada and my husband got a job within 3 months of landing. We have not gone to India in these 2 years and had all teh plans to visit India in December this year. But unfortunately due to Covid, we can't go. And I am horribly home sick now. But I got to go back to work after 10 yrs break and I think that wouldn't have been easy in India. We have the same scenario as yours, nothing comes easy...always have to struggle to get anything. Miss family, miss the celebrations. But the kids love it, and I am hopeful they would have more exposure and more career options.

This is a very accurate description...not to forget that Canada advertises their immigration time from when you land until you get citizenship to be 3 years but almost everyone I know including myself it took ten years and there was thousands of dollars involved. Be financially and mentally prepared for that. Long wait times and backlogs on your file. You could make a spelling mistake and after waiting forever to get to the next stage of your application they will return the original application and have you start all over again. You just have to sit there and wait.

Welcome to Canada! Prior to your move....., the Canadian gov't websites and phone numbers were accessable through many channels, especially from contacts who live in this Country. I have met quite a number of wonderful people from India who now live in Canada. Upon arrival, staying with family or friends, helping newcomers through the woes of the process is not a unique story. What I do appreciate about your video is your incentive to become active members of our community and enjoy what we all strive to achieve together in this beautiful Country... Guys, your videos have been a blessing for many. Ek baat toh hai ki struggle bohut hoti hai. But I personally feel that even if we have relatives in Canada, khud struggle karke sab achieve karne mein jo mazaa aur satisfaction milti hai, woh shayad tab nahi milti if koi struggle hi na hoti. Best example is your own story. You have a story of hardship n good days to share. I am sure, both of you cherish your achievements n moments in canada, over a cup of tea. Big thanks to you both for sharing such insightful videos till date. I have learnt a lot through them. Hopefully bohut jald Canada land kar paun. Covid delayed everything.
