Finding The One

Күн бұрын

In this week's episode of Finding The One, we continue our journey talking about the internal struggle Jen had when she realized that Danny didn't match the common societal standards of a partner for her. We also go over the issue behind pornography, how men can take steps to heal from the need of watching it, and how women can hold space for that.

The thought "He is the one" can cause so much fear in that very moment so that it is easy to get so frightened as if your life was in danger and all you wish is to run away. I understand so deeply what happened to Jen at that very Friday.

The episodes are way too short🥺 on a more positive note, I’m always impressed by the degree of vulnerability and honesty you’re both showing up here and I’m beyond grateful for you two existing as an inspiration🤍 And I’m also having an aha moment related to my struggle to quit smoking. I related it to the question about porn which I also used to consume a lot, and also quite of an addiction to bdsm, which I used to be a pretty big of a fan of, and lately, while I was experiencing some thing that I used to crave, I not only understood, but also felt how this is just not cool for me anymore, they are just not parts of my identity because I’m a totally different person. Without any judgement to the people that like it, I understand their journey, but for me, no, thank you. So my eternal question of ‘what do I need to do to quit smoking?’ just turned into ‘who do I need to become to just not enjoy smoking anymore?’. Because after many trial and errors, I know now that I’m just not the person to force myself into quitting a behaviour. Thank you so much for this!

When in an aya journey I asked the shaman that I wanted to finally connect to my lost femenine essence. In ceremony, the more I connected with my femenine the more the masculine started sighing loud, purging, creaming all the pain of all this masculine engrained sexual part, I was very hard they also carry a lot of burden. After the ceremony she told me to let the femenine in, the masculine has to go out, it applies to you, the ceremony room, the universe to everything. Thanks for sharing your journey, really an eye opener of how hurt we both are. Lets go hand by hand and change the world into love. THANKS !! Love ya ;)

I’ve really appreciated your podcast. Part of my self discovery journey, this book appeared in my life and it was called, “Calling in The One”. by Katherine Woodward Thomas. The synchronicities around how the book came, I found it was about finding myself and have been on a journey since 2008 to heal myself, my ancestors and change the cycles. Today hearing you both talk about the dishonoring of women with the base sexual needs of men hit me differently and see from a deeper perspective. Like Jen, I just expected that all men were like that but deeply wanted to feel respected. Hearing you talk from a healed version from the males perspective, gives me a deeper realization that I have held a safe space for men in past to heal but they weren’t on their own healing journey to come out of it and it deeply affected my growing journey. I have been single for 2 years and celibate for some time now to heal that part of myself and generationally, and see how I need to feel honored when in that space. Thank for sharing your story, the vulnerability of your conversations. I know I do and will connect with someone on this level, and it will be a matter of time when we are in each other’s lives to go to the next level of ourselves.

But guys hold on!!! I need to know what happened AFTER Jen’s meeting with the handsome dude! Did she call and apologised? There seem to be a gap between this date Jen had and you inviting her to go to Italy. I mean, she told you you weren’t the one. So why and how did you invite her to go to Italy? I receive answers and guidance from God without any medicine. If I just take a few moments to myself to relax and just be, words actually come to me. For example yesterday morning as I just woke up, not feeling well, before getting out of bed, I received the question "do you think you're different from others?" and I immediately answered "no", realising that before I would have answered "yes" - my own answer positively surprised me. I understood right then that we all have our struggles, problems, no one is better or worse, not to judge and not to feel separate. It may not mean much to others, but to me it was a huge deal for what I have been dealing with. So I got up and went on with my day as hard as it was - which actually ended up being an amazing day in so many ways, like a pillar for my life.

A little confusing..Danny, you said Jen was the one and you knew knew and said it took a tremendous amount of trust to know if you truly love the person you have to let them go, no matter how painful.. but then you said you set up 8 dates right after she said you weren’t the one. Do you see how what you just said prior then doesn’t make any sense? That you knew your worth, but setting up 8 dates in your pain? It’s naturally human, I’ve been there but what the truth really seems like in that moment was that it was a true mirror with Jen. To me, you were showing same unsureness mirroring Jen. So what was happening in the moment truly was a perfect mirror of what was going on in both of you? ❤

To the point about people in porn: being able to hold space for people and how they express sexuality is important. We are all on our own journey and shame is not the way to evolution, only love empowers. Creating a sense of separation by saying a group of people are “wrong” is an egoic judgement. A more compassionate perspective is to honour the feminine there as well by respecting and giving kindness in a space that so easily can be labelled “wrong”. Light because we don’t need to shame others to validate our wellbeing. It’s so easy to call the dark something wrong but the dark is yin. You can’t honour the feminine and say it’s holy one way and unholy the other. It simply is and so, a clear dialogue is one that is grounded in speaking the truth without judgement. Feminine is the darkness and this is an example where she isn’t given the grace for the fact that its existence allows stars to shine and twinkle for the world. Addiction comes from shame. Respect and honour to all the people in the industry for holding us all as we navigate our sexuality. Courage to be compassionate and grateful for all the people in the industry for teaching us how to honour of sexually. I trust that all is well and nothing is wrong, we are all on our path of becoming. We can be sacred and joyful at the fact we’re all alive and exercising our lives! Love comes in all ways.

Question, relating to the conscious porn discussion, what about sex education? ... could there not be a space where one could be taught how to make love, how to please yourself, please your partner, without the dark origins of porn?

I so much agree with everything you say and the way you are communicating spirituality ✨️❣️ when it comes to p○rn...the thing is that most of men out there don't even consider it as an addiction or something that they have to work through! They think that it is sooooo normal that we have to "do something " and see it in a different way/don't get upset/and maybe even don't be so modest or "old-times" !! They are not even aware of what they are doing..... 🙄 ?.....

True and even women accept it like it’s „normal“ or better to say a healthy behaviour. But what i don’t really understand in this episode is that even after his spiritual awakening they had an issue in their relationship about it. That doesnt really make sense for me why would anyone that truly loves himself and his partner want to watch porn?

Hello there, Danny, Jen and the world. Loving so far watching and listening to you guys. From France 😊 Lots of your words resonate in me, and kinda aligned with how my perspective goes these past years. I don’t know if anyone will happen to read this comment however I will throw the bait nonetheless: would love to hear some thoughts about dealing with homosexuality through the healing process of the « masculine » and « feminine ». Do you still believe that in that case the gender roles co exist? somehow one of the two women will provide as the « masculine » whereas the other one receive as the « feminine » for instance? If anyone of you have some articles, podcasts to share about this, will love to receive. Hopefully, I made my point clear enough 😅 cheers to everyone, good day to y’all 💛
