A few things about the song. It's about a game of hide and seek/hide go seek. In Japan when they play they clap their hands to attract the seeker. In this game they are playing with an Oni, which is basicaly a flesh eating ogre. At the start of the song Babymetal are the ones hidding, then they get the crowd to clap, then Babymetal become the Oni, which why they do the hunched back and hand shape.

I hate to tell you this but this isn't a new song. The video you reacted to is a fan made compilation video, that is why the upload date is recent. The song was a B side to the single Ijime Dame Zettai which was released in 2013. A year before their first album was released. If you really want a new song, please do Monochrome, Mirror Mirror, or Devine Attack. These are from their latest album release, The Other One.

Great reaction - but this is not a new song, it was on the first album in 2014. Also this is a fan made compilation video with clips from many different concerts spanning several years, the audio was taken from the Wembley Arena concert in 2016 (at least some of it anyway). This is the best song about playing a game like a mix of hide & seek blind man's bluff and tag that I know of ... but they are playing it with an Oni (a sort of Japanese ogre 👹that is popular in festivals in Japan and is used to frighten children ... and maybe that idea just amuses me more than it should🤣). The growls are on backing track - that was the Oni asking things like "Are you ready?" and the best response has to be "Maada da ya" (No, not yet) while doing a running away from an Oni dance.🏃‍♀🏃‍♀🏃‍♀👹 Once in a while the Kami Band (they are all male) get their chance to have some fun in the spotlight with an instrumental intro like this before the girls come on for the song itself. In order of solos being played in this one they were Mikio Fujioka (RIP January 2018) and Takayoshi Ohmura on guitars, BOH with his 6 string bass and Hideki Aoyama on drums.

BOH! 6-string god of bass! Dude is a monster. Guitarists are Mikio Fujioka (RIP) and Takayoshi Ohmura (pink guitar dude). Drummer is Hideki Aoyama. All these guys are known as gods of their instruments. That's why the backing band is called the Kami (gods) Band. This video is a mashup of several lives. A really fun song ... in a sinister kind of way.

Not Newer.. All the musicians are men (used a female violinist twice). Since 2017, things changed.. End of 2017 they took solo intros away (last one was for the song "Yava" at Osaka Fox Festival ), Guitarist Mikio Fujioka (the one smiling during the first solo - left channel in your ears) died beginning of 2018 from injuries sustained from a fall, then one of the girls (Yui Mizuno @ 04:42) left the group, 2019 they made the band wear masks along with using American musicians during overseas tours (you can tell the difference). They have a more electronic pop rock sound now. They will be touring the US this year using the American band and co-headlining with cartoon band Dethklok. Also, this song hasn't been performed live since the Fox Festivals in 2017. P.S. This is a compilation vid make by a fan (if you were going off the date for "new"). There are many of them .. One good channel that does them is KuroKiitsuneSama.

BABYMETAL 1.0 pre-2017 when they were teenagers and before Yui had to leave for health reasons. They were great as a teen Kawaiicore metal group. But, you should check out BABYMETAL 2.0 2023. They've been on a massive tour in Europe with Sabaton and solo in Asia with thousands of fans at every concert. They're in there 20s now, more mature with a more diverse portfolio of songs and have replaced teen exuberance with an adult mastery of the genre. Sumetal now almost 26 has a voice that has only improved with age. Both versions of BM are great in different ways. People who waffle on about the Yui days need to get over it. She's been gone for nearly 6 years and BM has moved on and improved immensely, as groups naturally do.

"Catch me if you can" is about the girls playing hide and seek or tag... but against an "oni", a sort of Japanese ogre... which makes it more interesting. 😁 It's from their first album, premiering live in February 2013 and being performed for the last time in August 2017. What you see here is a compilation of live footage from all those years. "CMIYC" is definitely on their heavier side instrumentally but also has some cute vocals and choreo, which still tops fan favorite polls. Including my personal favorite move: the infamous "Moa slide" (4:28 mark on your video). 😁 It was my veru first BABYMETAL song, so it's very special to me. I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Who told you this is newer? This is first album and a compilation of 2013 to 2016. Just be aware of these things. If you want first and second album songs, (with Yui) look for anything 2017 and earlier. If you want 3rd album, look for 2019 to 2022, and 4th album, 2023. The last song they released before the last album (2023) was the great _Kingslayer_ with _Bring Me The Horizon,_ on their album, in 2020.

They don't have a live version of this song since 2017 and it came out in 2013, so is from early BM era.
