This shit can happen. Good catch. I always put my load data on a 2x2 post-it and stick it on my powder drop, with the jug of powder right behind the press.

For safety sake, and cover any distractions , I always weight the bullet to confirm manufacturer data, then I use two separate digital scales, tare each cartridge first (with primer), then ad powder, then weight on each scale. Takes patience but the extra 5 seconds are worth it. I believe it helps with consistency also.

Glad you caught it. 3min of info in 10min plus video. Write it out sir. To much unnecessary detals. Keep working at it.

We’re all human, and humans make mistakes. I had been reloading for nearly 50 years, then made a mistake, only takes one, to really humble you. I measure powder on my kitchen table, then carry the filled cases out to my press, do a visual check, that all cases do have powder and levels look the same, and then seat the bullets. Don’t remember all the particulars, but basically, I loaded 280 REM with one powder, thinking that I was using a different one (2 powders sitting on the table), resulting in gross overcharge. Didn’t realize my mistake until after I pulled the trigger. I felt very fortunate, that this occurred with a Weatherby Mark 5 and the gun handled it and I was not injured.

Yea that’s an easy mistake to make…I’ve started doing the same thing as you did as far as dumping powder charges then going to the press to seat all the bullets. I do a much better job nowadays on keeping all my stuff straight and only load with one powder at a time.

Yea I'm glad we've had crappy weather here lately so I didn't make it out to the range.

there can be no mistakes in reloading.overloads turn a firearm into a bomb.check and double check everything a little time can save you from injury.do not ever be in a hurry.

So what would have happened if you shot it? Wouldn't it kinda be like +p bullets?

2.5grs over max is a recipe for disaster. The rifle could’ve handled it I’m sure but I don’t want to get in the habit of loading that hot...I don’t mind going over a max charge but not by 2.5grs.
