Oatmeal is healthy for you as a base. It has a good amount of carbs for energy, some protein, and fiber which will keep you full. If you add in things like fruits or protein powder that's also a good boost. With plain oats one serving is low calorie and filling. For your weight I don't think you necessarily need to drop any pounds. If you do some type of strength training at a gym or bodyweight exercises like squats, lunges, pushups, and so on you'd be fine. I'd focus on building a little bit of muscle. You'll feel better, you can eat a little more, and day to day tasks will be easier with the added muscle mass.

How did the glasses situation work out? Did you need to get an eye exam to get an new type of lenses for your glasses? How does that work in the Philippines? Here in the US, you would have an Optometrist perform an eye exam and determine what strength of lens you need for each eye and swap the new lenses into your glasses frame.
@stephilipines18 күн бұрын
Yesss, we have optometrist to have our eyes checked up :))

Living in Los Angeles I can honestly say there is no place in Philippines that even comes close to comparing to cost of living here heh heh. But of course I realize that comparing average salaries, yes Cebu can be quite expensive for locals to live healthy, eat healthy. It is a challenge everywhere given the absolute explosion of food inflation. Good luck I do like Cebu if I ever decide to try living in Philippines I would consider either BGC Manila or Cebu near the IT Park area. For now though I will try living in Thailand first in 2025.

Very informative video Stephanie but it made me wonder because I’m on a strict Mediterranean diet. Is that something I’ll be able to maintain when I’m over there in the Philippines.
@stephilipines18 күн бұрын
Nah, there’s a lot of foods here you can get. Western foods, asian, and etc. 😊
@NotinKansasanymore18 күн бұрын
@ well the Mediterranean diet, mostly fish for protein a lot of fruits and vegetables uses a lot of olive oil. It’s very healthy if you’re not eating fish or usually eating chicken or pork.

@stephilipines yout may not like keto diet though, you have to give up carbs like rice and puncit, not an easy thing to do. For intermittent fasting drink coffee with MCT oil, eat good fats that make you feel full like avocados and egg yolks. Good luck.

@@stephilipines Oats are a grain. They need to be processed just to be consumed. That doesn't mean that since it is now consumable, it is digestible by the body. It isn't. Anything that you can't / won't eat in its native form is not good for the human body - do you go to the fields and pick oats/wheat off their plants and eat it? No. I understand that some things are cooked for taste or protection from bad things, like eggs and meat, but grains, especially wheat, cause irritation to the stomach, aka microbiome - which is directly connected to your skin, the largest organ in your body, and inflammation in the body. If you want cereal, get grain free. Sugar, salt and seed oils are the absolute worst things you can take in. The processing to get sugar, especially white and brown is so bad for humans when consumed. Since you are in the Philippines, I won't talk about the nutritional value, or lack there of, of rice, FYI, went to medical school. Former personal trainer. Former body builder.
